Absolutely the worst bank I have ever worked with in my entire life. We went to buy my daughter a car and I instantly got approval through this compan. However, trying to make the monthly payment through their website/app/automated phone center is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've ever gone through. When I talk to a person, they would like to charge me a fee just to make my monthly payment even though their website/app/automated phone service does not work. It is not user-friendly and I've been jumping through hoops dealing with this for the last several months. They still cannot resolve their internal Issues. It's great you can get a loan from them but try making a payment to them! It is like mission impossible. I've asked them to call, I have sent an internal message to their system and several emails with out a reply. At this point, I'm just going to go to my normal reliable bank that we have been with for the last 20 years and have them pay off Gesa, if they can figure out how to deal with them! My experience with Gesa Credit Union has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. On February 14, I submitted my final car loan payoff of approximately $3,800 from my savings account. I tried to make the payment from my debit card and ran into an error in Gesa's payment portal so I decided to make an ACH payment from my savings account. After a few days, I noticed the funds had not left my savings account yet and found that to be concerning. Trying to be proactive and a responsible human being, I called to raise a concern because the money should have already been withdrawn from my savings account. I was reassured that everything was in motion and that it can take several days for the funds to leave my account. I called again a couple days later to raise the flag. Was told everything was fine. Then called again. And Again. Called 3 times total in a period of 8 days. Everything is fine. This is normal. No need for concern. Ten days later, the money still had not been withdrawn from my savings account, so I called again which was my 4th call to Gesa. That's when I was told the ACH payment did not go through. The banker I was working with tried her best to help me, she was very sweet but could not explain why my payment failed or why it was returned. Towards the end of the call she got an answer on what happened to my payment and Gesa told me that my Credit Union refused the payment due to an invalid account number. I called my Credit Union and they denied any such thing happening. During those 10 days, I called four separate times because I felt something was wrong. Each time, I was reassured that everything was fine. If I am clearly calling because I suspect there may be an issue, why am I being told repeatedly that everything is okay? And when the payment is rejected, why is there no effort to contact me? Instead, I was told my car payment was now late and that I was being charged late fees. I believe the fees were over $71 in total. To make matters worse, Gesa's online account portal is extremely vague. I cannot view detailed account information, I cannot see a clear history of previous payments, or access the transparency you would expect from another financial institution. I had a feeling that paying off this loan was going to turn into a massive headache, and unfortunately my intuition was correct. I have perfect credit and have never missed or made a late car payment in my life. I do not know what date the payment was returned, and I dont know how it was returned because the money never left my savings account in the first place. So the whole reason why it was rejected is suspicious. My guess is that on the day I tried to make a payment and my debit card was rejected that their system was having issues and they refuse to take accountability for their error. I ultimately made the payment using my debit card again today and crossing my fingers that I successfully paid off the car loan. Now that we are in the market to purchase another vehicle, we will not be using Gesa again due to this lackluster and frusterating experience. When a financial institution cannot communicate clearly, provide transparency, or take responsibility for errors, it does not inspire confidence. read more

Our new auto loan is with gesa. we briefly thought about transferring to gesa from Peak CU but now it's definitely no way in heck. Trying to set up online loan payments is a pain because after you put in your bank info NOTHING HAPPENS. It just says pending. It turns out that you have to wait a few days for some micro deposits so your account is verified or something. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT??????? I called customer service twice and they don't even know how to use their website. It was terrible. I could go on forever. This place sucks. read more

I dont have a bank account with them but I do have a car loan and cant wait to get rid of it. As soon as I can, I will either be trading in the car or refinancing it. Every time I turn around I am being threatened with a repo, not due to payments but to the different fees they want to ad on for various reasons. I January I paid $3000 to pull my care out of repo only $890 was for the car payment. I was told at that time I had a zero balance and have been paying since. In the beginning of April, I called to make another payment, and they are now threatening to throw it in repo again. talking about I didn't have insurance (I did) and I have a $4xx balance from last year and this could cause it to go in repo. If this happens I will personally take the care to them. If you finance a car do not use this Credit Union under any circumstances. If you do you will be sorry. read more

Their website is arcade and Stone aged your request to have your passport reset by the time you get your link it is expired and it is a vicious cycle. I can see why they have so many bad reviews. They were fine before Gesa took over but really awful afterward. My son had a childs checking account, that we had originally opened so he had a card to use when he traveled to see Grandparents in the summer. He hadn't used the account in sometime and we received the option to close it in the mail. Paperwork was filled out and sent in, but it was never closed. We tried to call, but he couldn't remember his internet password(I'm not even sure if he ever made one, since they wouldn't let him give me authorize to speak for him when we changed the address after moving, even though It had been opened with both our names on it,) and he was basically told that he was SOL without it. There was less than $100, but it's still really frustrating to let it get eaten up in fees since we have no way to just close the account, and there any branches near us. TLDR: won't let us close my sons account, or allow him to authorize me to speak with the phone rep, even though he was a minor and My name's on the account too. read more

I am now a senior citizen - retired but subbing - and have been with Gesa for many years. They have always helped me and protected my accounts. Once when I was on vacation on the beach in Oregon/Lincoln City / they notified me someone on Russia was trying to take 900$ Wow bad while on trip. But they closed my account and directed me to a bank in Lincoln City for cash. That was just one example; don't forget the $900 alto sax I purchased on eBay and it couldn't play a note so I returned it. Called the owner in California and let her know my records showed she got it. She never answered phone , kept money and horn. eBay did nothing. Gesa handled the fraud; they are the best! read more

I went through an attorney to go through a settlement and they the woman on the phone threatened with law suit and saying it was my fault. Gesa is terrible. Do Not open an account there! Usually, I'm all for credit unions but this one is horrible, totally unethical and tragically awful to have to deal with. They will literally stal your money, charge excessive fees for their own banking system errors, and take Forever to process anything external. Sometimes money ypubtransfer just doesn't show up and they gaslight you and tell you that you never made the transfer, even when you have the records to prove it. Then, they will randomly and without notifying you, will take funds out. And they will gaslight you all over again. Their representatives lie. They straight up lie and Never admit when they do wrong. Even when you prove them wrong via an outside agency. They will still double down and say it was you, not them. Their systems are slow, theur procedures don't work, they lie and keep your money when they should be depositing it and their custermer service reps gaslight all day long. Not to mention ridiculous fees, which they will also Lie about. One time they reversed a fee because they found it was a banking error. So when it happened again they told me that clients only get one fee reversal ever, regardless of the cause and refused. Years later, I brought it up and the representative said that was never a policy, but still refused and continued to gaslight. It's truly awful. Don't bother. If I could give the negative starts I would. Zero stars. None. At this point, they should pay me for all the time my time wasted dealing with them. I wish I could give zero stars. I have banked here for literally over a decade. When it was School Employees Credit Union it was amazing. As it switched to Inspirus it was still good, but definitely lost some of its charm. Now, as GESA I have experienced the literal worst customer service surrounding banking in my life. My most recent call has made me decide to move my money somewhere else. After spending nearly an hour of my time on the phone and being transferred 6+ times I found out that the letter they sent informing me they were going to cancel my credit card was in error. I first started banking with Inspirus Credit Union when it was School Employees Credit Union of Washington nearly 20 years ago. I was a loyal customer until..... they switched to GESA. This transition has been an absolute DISASTER. The customer service is awful. When you try call you get sent to a call center where they put you on hold for HOURS! The bill pay setup is horrific! It took my mortgage company a week to receive a check.....resulting in a late mortgage payment. NO THANK YOU! I'm taking my money to a different credit union that cares about member relations! The merging of Inspirus to GESA Credit Union is a fiasco. Members have been unable to log in, pay bills and access funds for 3 days. It's inconvenient for some members, and seriously problematic for others. Contacting GESA is impossible. I was on hold for an hour and gave up. I wrote a previous review on 10/7/2020. School employees credit union was great. Joined in1970. Service went down Hill as soon as it was transferred to Inspirus and moved to Tukwila where in person service was mediocre. Then, it emerged with gesa, and it took another couple stairs down hill. This afternoon, in the snow storm, I tried to enroll in online banking. What a JOKE !! The instructions for creating a pass word those contradict those one receives when one actually attempts to do so. This renders the entire registration process impossible. After 30 years, I'm moving our money to a different institution. Placing customers on hold for 10 minutes just to speak to a representative isn't an acceptable level of customer service. Today, I needed to pay an auto repair bill. I couldn't get authorization for the repair. I was transferred twice to the member services department. Both calls were dropped, after I'd waited 20 minutes total just to speak to the initial representatives. I wound up using a credit card from another institution. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place failed to help me when fraud happened in my checking account, In October!! And it's now December. My replacement card got lost in the mail multiple times, nothing came! When I asked to shut it down they wouldn't Let me said I should keep money in etc. Difficult to talk to anyone on the phone and when you go in person no one comes to the desk and you're stuck for hours waiting wasting your time!!!
