I came to this practice because I was referred by 2 separate former patients of Dr. Gerut. One of the women at the hair salon I went to when I lived in Long Beach, NY said he is amazing. Another woman who had a neck lift is a friend of a friend and a fussy type person so when she recommends someone you know they are good! I came in to meet the doctor with my oldest son. We had a consult and we felt that looking at the before and after pictures it was definitely worth the cost and the inconvenience of surgery to fix my neck. I felt comfortable and confident with Dr. Gerut after our first meeting. The next question was how do I get aftercare since I live in Seattle Washington. My son in NY said I could stay with him and he would take care of me. I called Mindy the practice Office Manager and asked her if she thought that was a good idea or would it be advantageous to stay with a friend. Mindy stated clearly that my best friend living on LI would be the way to go. So I booked my surgery and got a one way ticket from Seattle to NY because I didn't know how long the recuperation would be. The date was going to be October 31 and I was scheduled to fly in a few days before. My best friend hocked me to call the office and see if I need to get any meds or pre surgical testing done. I did all that. Then I realized that I needed to get back to Seattle cause all my children are coming to me for Thanksgiving! See why my Ex-husband nicknames me Lucy (Lucille Ball) anyway I asked the office if there was any way they could get my surgery done sooner cause I was flying to NY 10/22 and would be available anytime after that date. I got a call form Mindy saying they made accommodations for me and I could have surgery 10/24. I went in for the operation a bit nervous but total faith in this practice. Karina their nurse explained all the medication that I would be taking and dosing instructions. Since they allowed me to do the procedure a week early she rushed the prescriptions to my NYC pharmacy and when they didn't have one of the meds she followed up to make sure it would be available the next day. Unbelievable care from Karina and amazing follow Thru! She told me to discontinue certain other meds that I normally take and spent time on the phone explaining every detail that I should expect post op. When I got to the office on 10/24 Jessica took pictures of me and a video tape to show before pictures prior to procedure. She too was calming and lovely. I don't know how this Doctor got such a wonderful team of professional people working here. It's too be noticed and really cherished. One person was kinder than the next. So Jessica had me fill out forms and the operation took place in Hewlett. The doctor had a surgical center right behind his office. The anesthesiologist was also very caring and Professional. He called me the night before surgery and we talked about my prior problem with anesthesia when I had a hysterectomy several years ago. He told me not to worry and I didn't worry. When I met him o knew I was in great hands! So I get out of surgery 3 hours later. Originally I was going to just do my neck. After talking with Dr. Gerut and my son I de used to so chin implants as well, and the day of surgery Dr. Gerut suggested filling in some space that was on both sides of my temples. (He didn't even charge me for that! ). He also did a facial peel (free of charge). My best fiend drive me back to her home and I took one pain pill that night. I was swollen and a bit uncomfortable but my pain was minimal. on a scale of. 1 to 10 I would say a 2. The next day no pain at all! I took some pictures and I was swollen and a bit discolored but felt amazing. By day 2 I could not sit still and started walking all over Dix Hills! Anyway it's day 6 and my neck looks perfect. the chin area is a bit swollen and discolored but I feel great! I have never seen such a caring medical practice in my life. ( I was a Pharmaceutical Rep and sold medical equipment as a career). All I can say is that if you need a Plastic Surgeon and you are a bit nervous or undecided and wish to speak to someone about their experience, call them and ask to speak to the nurse Karina. Or better yet, ask them for my phone number! I'll tell you straight up this was so much better than I expected! They are caring, considerate and above all amazing perfectionists! I went back Monday after having surgery on Thursday and Dr. Gerut was not thrilled with one side of the temples so he added some fat to it and I am going back Monday to have stitches taken out. I wasn't smiling for quite a while before I met Dr. Gerut, but it all changed soon after I came to his office for a consultation. He showed me that making a difference begins with one person at a time. The successful Breast Surgery Correction I had with Dr. Gerut, symbolized for me, a new beginning and a rebirth. It had meanings of overcoming a deep personal crisis. It began over a year ago, when I was going through separation after 15 years of marriage, having 2 young kids at home. I had Breast Augmentation Surgery for all the wrong reasons with a Plastic Surgeon in Brooklyn. The Doctor and his office manager were aware of my nervous breakdown at that time and still, did not accept my wish to cancel the surgery. Furthermore, the office manager threatened that if I cancelled the surgery, I would lose my deposit. (1/3 of the surgery cost). At that time I was fighting in so many battle fields that I gave up, and went into the surgery hoping never to wake up. Within six months after the initial surgery, Capsules Level 3 formed in one breast. The left breast became as hard as a rock and distorted in shape.
