While the store feels nice and has a good feel to it, with a good amount of seating both upstairs and down I was a little disappointed with my overall experience here in comparison to other Pret stores. The service was pretty slow, for some reason at a busy period they only had one member of staff both taking orders and making drinks with no staff member to be seen other than her, I only came in for a pre-bottled Orange Juice, normally I could be in and out within 60 seconds but sadly it took longer here, to make matters worse when I did get it, the orange juice tasted off and rather bitter, even though it wasn't close to the expiration date. It is a pretty narrow door to get in, possibly because one half of the double door isn't working, somehow it did also open when I was leaving the store, it sort of swung both ways so it didn't appear to be that safe either. In terms of overall feel, this is one of the nicer branded coffee shops in Chester centre but with poor beverage quality and slow service, there isn't many other positives about this place, and I'll stick to the slightly better Starbucks a couple of stores down the road when in Chester in the future. 2*

However, I ordered food from here and it wasn't very nice. I could tell the macaroni cheese had been sitting under the heat too long as I almost broke my teeth trying to bite through the darn thing! Yum Yum's have three menus really - a standard cold one (sandwiches, wraps, etc), a standard hot one (hot sandwiches, burgers, etc) and a specials menu, which is emailed around each morning around 9am. I normally ordered off the specials menu - not because the hot and cold ones were rubbish, but Fred's (I assume the owner!) little comments about each item were just great and made you want your lunch before half 9. (Fred's comments were often the highlight of the first hour at work!) The food was always very good from there, although slightly more expensive (iirc) than their competitors. Yum Yum's also do amazing sausage butties, perfect for a Friday morning (or any morning after the night before!)

We ordered breakfast from them once but it took them over an hour to make the order, but which time we were ready for lunch. The cafe itself is ok, althought the queue often snakes out of the door (goodness knows why) so the interior is often cold. If you want something for lunch then there are plenty of alternative places in the town centre proper including the Pasty Place, Spud-u-like and Harbingers. If on the other hand you want food that could easily be known as heart attack in a bap then perhaps you should give Yum Yums a try.

This isnt just any old Truckers Cafe it also attracts Familys and local's for a good selection of hearty home cooked, great british Grub. Not only are the breakfasts well worth a try (be warned they are belly busters!) they also do a Fantastic Roast Dinner, which also comes with Chips if your extra hungry! It's all homemade, nothing out of the packet, the Gravy is like your mum makes and the Chips are good old fashioned cut potatoes and not frozen. The Decor isnt fancy or anything to shout home about, but with food as good as this it doesnt need to be its just big bulky tables and an assortment of odd chairs but it works! For Truckers its ideal, they have Shower facilities on site and a Huge Car Park and right next to a petrol station so you have everything you need for an overnight stay. On the menu is everything from all day breakfasts to full roast dinners, of which there is a different one each day. There are usually two or three other mains and several old fashioned puddings. We have a toasted sandwich each time we visit, delicious and fast. The only down-side is their coffee. It is obviously instant and possibly poor quality but the food is fantastic.
