Had a wonderful bachelor's weekend with my buddies! We stayed in the teepees and twas a definitely fun experience! Fire place was there for us to enjoy and cook some baked potatoes and franks, a pond was right in front of the teepees to enjoy a short canoeing and kids even jumped into the water , game room was there for us to play the table tennis and pooling, volleyball and basketball court was there! A nice river was there for us to canoeing as well! Bathroom shower was pretty nice as well! Overall it was great experience! Only con thing was that teepees were a bit stuffy but AC was working fine. let me start by saying that i have camped all my life. so, we were looking forward to this short stay. Especially since my wife is from Seguin, and we both have swam in Geronimo creek many times over the years. I understood that the bathrooms were detached, but did not expect them to be 50 yards away and downstairs. 20 years ago, no problem. now, that's an issue. up and down stairs multiple times in the dark is not desirable. but the bigger issue was the condition of the "room/tent". opening the door, the smell of mildew was strong. would have killed my wife to stay there. the beds appear disheveled and lumpy. the showers are basically converted porta potties. the room was $87 a night, but after all the addons it was $187. definitely overpriced. we left and went to Holiday Inn. read more

We came during December, so it's hard to really take it vantage of everything this place has to offer, but it was an amazing stay nonetheless. It's a lot cheaper during the winter, and during the week. But my kids still loved all did this place had to offer. The scenery, the location, the activities are so worth it. Cons There was no shampoo or conditioner, you have to clean up for yourself even though there is a $75 cleaning fee, there are way too many cats and it's gross when they come in your door if you leave it slightly open for more than a second, they are frightening at night, there is no clean water to drink, they advertise cabins that accommodate eight but it's truly only six with you bringing your own bed for the remaining two, wi-Fi is poor, no towels on loan from the inn. Pros Low price in the winter, beautiful scenery, gorgeous cabins, lots of outdoor activities even in the winter like basketball, volleyball bonfires, bowling, connect four, fishing, lots of great indoor activities for kids like pool, ping-pong, Jenga, places to cook out, lots of hammocks and outdoor seating, great outdoor deck overlooking the river, accommodations for various parties sizes like teepees. If you go in the summer they have free canoes to use, paddleboard's to try, river swings to jump from, and tubes. It was easy to access, you can go straight to your room with a code, and it's has great outdoor hiking areas. They even have a hot tub. Honestly it's the views that make this place worthwhile. I had a difficult time choosing between this location, the River Road location, and The Guadalupe River location, they all seem pretty similar. But for the price and amenities, the Geronimo really is the place to go. In the winter when it's slow season it's even more amazing because we truly had the entire place to ourselves. There were no other people here that's pretty cool! There is a grocery store about eight minutes from the cabins to grab firewood or coal, meat to grill and marshmallows to roast. This is a great stay for any family friends or couples. Pro tip stay in the sweet medicine cabinet, it's furthest from the road, closest to the river, has a true stairwell to the loft, and close to the extra bathrooms. read more

The premises are nice I was lucky I booked Sunday-Tuesday so there really weren't many people around. The place has a lot of potential, the mini split is so filthy it's gross to look at. it's unbelievable they can't get some Clorox wipes and clean it. No where on their website or Facebook page they show pictures of the restroom and now I know why. The restroom is like a porta potty but with a shower. The shower head holder was broken, the water didn't drain well, water was super hot making it hard to shower. The trash can wasn't emptied prior to our arrival. Do NOT rent here unless you want to have your money stolen from you and your expectations to not be met. I rented the 'Homestead Haus' for one night to vacation with my 2 year old daughter and family. I paid $247 for a one night rental ($100 of that being a 'cleaning fee') When we checked out at 11 and by 12:30 I had received an email about $255 being charged on my card for "additional cleaning fees". I kid you not... I picked up ALL the trash and bagged it, put it on the porch so the maids could just grab it and toss it. And we had less than 10 dishes in the sink... all cups. They claimed when I called that "the cleaning doesn't include trAsh or dishes" and she stood by the decision to charge me $150 for those. On top of that blow... they claimed 3 towels that were used were being 'replaced' for $25 a piece. I expressed my sheer confusion and frustration with this "policy" and Cathy, the manager let me know... that I "signed the agreement". This business took $255 EXTRA dollars from me when they know it was wrong and unjust. And the manager stood by that choice. I am so beyond upset and disappointed. Hopefully they know they took mine and my babies rent money. 5/2 UPDATE Had to literally take this issue up with my bank. Had a great time here with my wife Stayed in one of the tipis right by the cute little pond. Although the pond wasn't as stocked as I hoped (unless I'm that bad of a fisherman) the whole atmosphere of this place made up for it. You can walk down to the creek and take a kayak, paddle boat or water bike down a portion of Geronimo creek . Tipi it self was quite large had 3 queen size beds with lots of room And a fold out couch and a kitchenette. I hope you like cats because we found 9 friends !! All as friendly as can be. So bring some cat food for these lil guys Grill pit and nice smoker/grille at every tipi. So disappointed in our stay we had been looking forward to staying here for weeks. It's really sad that this place has gone down hill. The overall cleanliness is disgusting we found gum in several locations in and around the cabin and cigarette butts in the bed!!! The overall amount of dust in the place is disgusting! Not to mention the refrigerator that sounds like a dying goose ALL night long!! And there is NO WIFI do don't even advertise it's availability. You've charged us an $85 cleaning fee but it's apparent this place has not been cleaned. Not very happy with the noisy traffic there, paper thin walls. Quiet time is after 10:30 how do you even sleep with the sawing, trailers going back and forth, speeding loud trucks. Beds very uncomfortable unless you like firm, firm! Foam. Dirty, 75$ fee, not very clean, we had to use Clorox wipes and went through a whole container. I forgot to take pictures of that an all the dust on walls and under stairs. Water had e.coli in 2019, but very dark and not clean running river water. Fridge barely fits anything! Froze all of our items on the top shelf, plus the broken bottom shelf.. what can I say, there has to be better options. This place is terrible! The pictures online are from when they first opened! Everything is old and wore down. Our window leaked which was right above our bed and soaked pillows. There is no staff on site, if you have an issue you have to call an automated number and they might return your call. We payed extra to have a private bathroom which the lock broke on it at 8pm and they did have someone out to fix it till 11am the next day. We left a day early and asked for a refund for the day we spent waiting and they refused. We will never stay here again. read more

I was there a few weeks ago and there was an event the entire weekend we were there - not disclosed prior to reservation. That reduced parking (already limited) and the 2 restrooms upfront had a line going. You get to see the entire property as you drive-in, it's not big, and can get crowded easily. Also, please note they have no one on site (probably due to covid), you call offsite for assistance. The AirCon had mold, zoom in the picture. A lot of the things are worn out. The sheets looked dirty from how old they were. Stay here if you get a good deal or its on sale. Not ideal as a covid getaway. Our extended family rented out two of the treehouses for three nights. We had Laughing Water and Singing Cloud. We had 10 people total so we had 5 in each cabin. This spot itself is absolutely fantastic and we had a great time floating the creek, and swinging on the rope swing, and kayaking up the creek. Our kids who are 7, 12, 13, and 14 had a great time on the property. We appreciated the kayaks that were provided, the basketball court and the game room. We were disappointed in that hot tub since it has been drained and that was not noted anywhere in our reservation details. All in all although it still could use some upkeep, the property itself was good and we enjoyed our time. That being said, the treehouses themselves are in need of some serious upkeep. The first think I noticed when walking into the Singing Cloud cabin is that it didn't meet even the basic cleanliness requirements. The floor was in need of a major sweeping, the stove top looked like it hadn't been wiped down in few days, and the bathroom shower floor had mildew and mold. This didn't comfort me, especially in the middle of d pandemic, so I spent the first 30 min lysoling doorknobs/light switches and wiping down counter tops with Clorox wipes. There were also several maintenance items that needed tending to, one of which is a safety hazard. There is an outlet cover upstairs that needs to be replaced. That is a safety hazard and especially dangerous when children are staying/playing upstairs. There were also several lightbulbs out in the bathroom and Nearly 3/4 of the lights on the strand lights on the deck were out as well. The patio table was broken and just laying out on the deck. The cabin amenities were also not as described. It says it's sleeps 8 and the couch turns into a bed with sheets being found in the dresser drawer. No sheets were found. I had a family that wasn't able to be accommodated in the way I had planned because of this. By the time I had noticed there were no sheets, it was 10:30 at night and it was way past time to call and get sheets for my 6 year old. I would have happily brought my own had the home description not told me they would have been provided. We were also provided with 1 towel for washing dishes for 3 days. Note these cabins do not have dishwashers. The rest of our family stayed in the adjoining cabin and there were 2 forks for a cabin that is suppose to accommodate 8 people. Both gas grills were out of propane, however the property manager handled this request promptly. The WiFi also didn't work the entire time we were there. My brother in law had to drive to Starbucks several times a day to check email. The website also states no pets are allowed yet there were dogs running a round everywhere. I think it's also good to note that our treehouses had different stairs that accessed the loft area. The one I stayed in has a very narrow, spiral staircase that was easier, although not at all safe, for kids to get upstairs, but nearly impossible for some adults. My in laws had a regular staircase. Despite the issues we encountered, we still had a great time. But for the price we paid for the two treehouses, I definitely expected more especially having stayed in similar price points several times before. My advice if you are headed to Geronimo: 1. Bring plenty of paper towels or dish towels 2. Bring cleaning supplies 3. Bring ice (they say they have ice cube trays...they do not) 4. Bring your own floats 5. Bring sheets for the pull out or for the twin toll away. And blankets too. There are no extra blankets either. 6. If you are all adults or small children, don't stay in the treehouses with the narrow spiral staircases. 7. Bring water shoes read more

Great place to stay! Everything seemed clean and many items were available to make your stay easier were provided. Rope swings, kayaks, paddle boards and some floats were at the creek for guest use. We stayed at the #2 tipi and were looking forward to enjoying the stock pond steps out our door but the pond had a severe coat of algae film growing on top of the water. We did enjoy listening to the frogs at night by the pond though. The creek was clean and nice to use the water toys. Some of the floats and kayaks have holes in them which made them unusable. The game room needs a new dart board as well, it has seen its better days. Overall was a great place to have some fun and relax. Looking forward to our next stay. read more

Our family just stayed here, which included my wife, 7 kids, in-laws, and myself and we have had a blast! We stayed in the tipis which are are super fun for the kids. They are very large one room places with AC a little kitchen and a TV with Direct TV. Each tipi had its own private bathroom in the building behind. It's a short walk and the bathroom are very nice. The Creek, kayaks, paddle boards, hammocks, fire pits, recreation room were all very fun. We stayed in a teepee for a holiday weekend and ended up leaving early. First off, the mildew/ mold smell was intense when we first arrived. And the teepee was DIRTY. The sheets didn't feel clean. There were crumbs in 2 of the beds. The fridge didn't work when we arrived. A couple maintenance workers came to inspect and realized the breaker had popped. The grass area smelled like sewage. At night the sink gargled several times and woke us up through the night. The bathrooms had mildew/ mold in several places (see pictures). There is no window to open. These shouldn't be rentable if this is the condition they are in. There were holes in the bathroom walls. Thankfully we were with other people who had a treehouse, so they let us use their bathroom. We spent 95% of our time there, cause the teepee was depressing. But even in the treehouse the walls are so thin. We could hear the other cabin that we shared a deck with, like they were inside. The grounds were clean from any trash. The whole campsite area is way smaller than the pictures make it seem. Everyone is pretty close together. The other parties were playing their music so loud. We were woken up every night from some in the parking lot playing music and shouting. I didn't feel safe here from many reasons, including things that happened that I didn't mention in the review. The second to last night my daughter literally cried cause she didn't want to sleep there anymore. So we left a whole day early. I gave it 2 stars because my kids enjoyed the kayaks, volleyball court and the rope swing. Every teepee and treehouse has a fire pit, picnic table and hammock, which is nice. The game room doesn't look like the pictures anymore. The windows are covered and it's dirty. They didn't have balls for the foosball and all the ping pong balls were broken. The paddles for ping pong were chipped and busted. This place has a lot of potential. But it needs some major repairs and a major deep cleaning. If they can't keep the teepees and bathrooms from molding/ mildewing or clean than they shouldn't rent them out. read more

This place may have been nice at some point but not during our visit. From the moment we pulled in the driveway I could see we had made a mistake. It was completely overgrown and just nasty. After a long drive we all needed to use the restroom. We get to our cabin and open the restroom door and Surprise!! No Toilet. We asked the cleaning lady where it was, she just said "It got old". She told us we could use the portable showers when they get fixed but there is only on restroom for everyone. The beautiful pond was a film covered swamp. The famous rope swing was just a bunch of ropes tied together. There is also only one BBQ pit for everyone to use. The gameroom and hot tub were not in use due to the virus. We stayed the weekend before 7/4/19 for 4 nights in Tipi 2. We enjoyed it- something different. I don't think we could do more than 4 nights. We enjoyed sitting outside late evening into the night with family. There is only so much to do on the grounds - so we made plans on most days off the grounds. The kayaking is nice & easy for the kids. The tipi baths are nice. At night it is pitch black- so bring a flash light if you need the bathroom. WiFi was horrible- according to my hubs & boys. Flies are horrible- bring whatever ammunition you can to ward them off- it's hard to eat outside bc they are so bad. There is not much room to store food. Check your space before you go to store. They fridge is a bit bigger than a dorm fridge- you will need an ice chest & ice to store items that need to be refrigerated. read more

We stayed at a teepee, place has a potential, but unbearably filthy. We left the night before our actual check out morning. We were not enjoying that at all, smell of mold/ mildew was giving us headaches and the WiFi was horrible. The portable air conditioner was so load, my child could not get over the noise. I am writing this from my phone so please ignore any heinous grammatical errors, etc. We are in a tipi and I love it like Rihanna loves her birthday cake cake cake. There are 5 tipis and the one we're in is bigger and the only one with a standing door as opposed to a leaning door against the tipi. There are also these Swiss Family Robinson tree houses which are bigger than the tipis are and better if you have kids. Downside to the tipis.... Only a small kitchenette, no microwave but there's a small convection oven and a mini fridge. It's a BBQ wonderland on my side of the camp grounds. The tree houses have more but I'm not sure what since I haven't been in one. Also a bonus are the bathrooms here are crazy clean and each tipi has its own bathroom assigned to it. Fishing and kayaking are great and there are fire pits and BBQs provided. The reason I'm giving it four stars is a big deal for me but might not be for others. I can't bring my dog. It's a freaking camp ground, let me bring my dog. Other than that I would love to stay here again and I plan on trying the tree house when that happens. read more

This is a super, super fun place to bring the kids. It's really close to town, so if you need to run to the store, it's really convenient. It was soooo hot, but the AC in our tipi kept us comfortable. The water in the creek was cool enough to feel good in the heat, and it was warm enough to stay in for a long time. The kids had a blast kayaking and running and jumping using the rope. The sites were stocked with ample outdoor furniture and pots and pans. The WiFi was good. The bathrooms were clean. It's a perfect spot if you want some of the parts of camping, but you're not fully "outdoorsy". We saw a raccoon and an armadillo on the other side of the fence. The kids were thrilled. read more

Our family of 10 stayed in Cabin 3 & 4! We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Cabins are super cute! Stocked with MINI fridge, dishes, microwave, one burner, tv and Netflix. Lots of blankets and pillows! The staff did a great job making sure the rooms were clean and pristine. Tons of activities for the entire family. Kayak, paddle board and small game room. Bring river shoes and something to float on. Bring coffee. Bring toiletries for the nice shower they have downstairs. They have a nice amount of towels, but bring a beach towel. You don't need to bring chairs, there is plenty of seating. Raccoons will get into your camp, so put away food and trash can. A couple of cons that would be easy for them to fix: the sink water literally dumps straight from upstairs to below, where everyone is hanging out. So, big muddy hole and water pouring onto the ground. Just don't leave anything near it or accidentally stand under it! They could easily run a pipe down so it's not splattering on everyone. Another idea: This camp NEEDS a playscape or a couple of swings, Something for smaller children/toddlers... pretty please!!!! The beds are FIRM.... Really firm. The toilet situation is interesting in the cabin... let's just say, you have to potty in a coffee filter each time, flush it and burn it. Haha. You'll see! The pros of this place it's very relaxing and quiet. The weather was awesome and the other visitors here are friendly, it's a family spot not so much a party place. The creek felt really nice and the water is not too murky or fishy. It's just over all a great spot. The cons are the hot tub was outdated and had way too much chlorine in it. They should update and make it more user friendly, we had high hopes of hot tubing at night but it wasn't worth the difficulty. We will be back next summer for sure. read more

We rented the Homestead Haus for a week. We had a blast! The property is very well kept and clean, and the owners even brought us over a giant connect four game. If you are looking for a nice, quiet and relaxing place to stay at you won't be disappointed. The water is cold and refreshing and there is plenty of water activities. There is a game room as well with a pool table. We really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back and next time I think we'll rent the big treehouse on the water. Terrible. Borken glass on the floors inside the tipi where my kids are supposed to stay, human hair from previous tenants in the beds. Multiple items thought the property in non working condition and dirty. Bathroom damp, humid, and dirty. Other vacationers openly drunk and playing loud music. For the "quiet, family friendly place" Geronimo creek claims to be it's incredible loud, dirty, and unsafe. Had my wife not inspected the tipi first after getting a one inch shard of glass stuck in her shoe, my boys might have picked up one of the many dead bugs on the floor or worse, gashed a foot open and wound up with stitches. Absolutely unacceptable. We booked a hotel nearby within the hour and left. I would advise anyone looking for a relaxing weekend with children included to look elsewhere. You can go to nearby new Braunfels and camp on the river for a fraction of the price and have a great time, just like we did. read more

I really had a problem with the poison ivy growing right at the doorway, the fruit punch straws that were in my bed when I arrived (I don't have kiddos -- no fruit boxes here), the microwave that hadn't been cleaned and the front porch light that was nonfunctional. We notified management as soon as we realized the issues but still would have stayed another night if it was available just so that we didn't have to move places. Fortunately, there was an Air BnB listing for "Pearl Inn - The Cottage" in New Braunfels that was NOT on the river but was perfectly maintained and the renters aren't in charge of the cleaning so the cleaning is actually done well! Fun place for family with creek and games. We stayed in a cabin and the house for our family vacation. House really needs some TLC. Dishwasher is nasty, wood coming off floors, caulk all off above sink area, fridge never wants to close all the way and beeps all the time, and water pressure in shower is awful! The cabin was much nicer. Flies are horrible on the property. I have camped many places and have never seen as many flies as this place. Couldn't even eat outside or let alone have a drink because they will attack everything. Couldn't place disc golf, they have the sprinklers running throughout the day, and the ground is soaked like a swamp area. It's right by volleyball court and you don't even want to go get the ball if it rolls over there. Over all, Good time. When we arrived we saw two young girls pulling a wagon cleaning the bathrooms and then some of the cottages. We talked to them for a few minutes. One was 15 and the other one was 16. I figured that this was why there were negative reviews regarding cleanliness. We had just used those bathrooms which were in need of a cleaning badly. We came a little early and the small dock had several kayaks and a paddle board pulled up onto the dock. Which did not leave a lot of room to walk. I wondered why they didn't just pull these up on the grass embankment in front of the dock. The creek was small but nice. We kayaked and the water was great. We didn't really want to swim in the water in front of the establishment because it did not have a lot of movement. The cabin we stayed in was clean. The stairs leading to the loft are small as other reviews had noted. We washed every dish before we ate on them. After all there is no dishwasher and seeing they had these young girls as there cleaning crew was a little scary. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio. Make sure to bring soap, paper towels, ect. Not much here in amenities. After eating a snack we went down to the dock to kayaking again. At this time the dock was muddy and wet because people had used several of the kayaks then and had pulled them onto the dock. It was at this time I slipped on the mud/wet tearing my hamstring (serious injury) which basically ruined our afternoon. In the evening we could not get our gas/grill to work however out of nowhere a wonderful gentleman appeared who worked on the property and promptly fixed the problem. The next day as we were leaving we walked (I limped) around the property. We decided this was a great money maker. Our cabin was around $270. They have several tent cabins, & teepees further away and the 4 cabins. We discussed the pros/cons of the property. We definitely would not come in the summer. It would be over crowded and there really is not enough waterfront for the amount of rentals they have. Okay stay, would not come again. Too pricey for what you get. I have stayed in several different, fun places for myself and kids and found them to be safer, cleaner and shiw professionalism . This Place kind of runs itself. Needs some loving care and better management company. For a place that clearly makes money they should really do a much better job. Oh yea. My biggest complaint is that the website makes you think that all of the properties are in the same location. It's not till you read the novella description that you realize that they are not. It's really not a tree house as described. The $85 cleaning fee is the same no matter how long you stay. There were hairs in the sink and lots of dead bugs around. River access was not as easy as they made it out to be. I'm disappointed based on the price. read more

My fiancée and I both work 40 hours a week, do full-time college, and are planning a wedding. We were exhausted and wanted to get away from it all. On a spur of the moment decision, we found this hideaway and booked two days before we went. This place was just perfect for the relaxation we needed! I'd recommend it to anyone! To start off, the tipi we stayed in was amazing. They are extremely unique, spacious and beautiful! The beds were comfy and clean. There is window centered over the middle bed, but there is a curtain over it, and you have to open the flap from the outside. Personally, I loved this because it completely hid all the light making sleeping in easier. We did open it once during one of the days, and the view was nice. The tipis also really do contain anything you could possible need kitchen wise. Pam, soap, pots, pans, skewers, salt, pepper; it's all there. Although the bathrooms are not in the tipis, they are centered between the middle tipi, which makes the walk not bad at all. The experience of staying in the tipi was amazing all by itself. The grounds are peaceful! Right in front of tipis is a sparkling lake. When we sat out and roasted marshmallows over the fire, we heard lovely sounds of frogs and crickets. The path to the river isn't too long of a walk at all. In between there is a game house that has couches and a ping pong table. The hot tub is there as well, but it was covered, and we didn't mess with it. There are hammocks and swings speckled everywhere. Some even overlook the river. The river itself was bigger than I expected. It was extremely cold, so I didn't swim in it long. There is a bunch of algae at the bottom. I wouldn't put my feet down unless you enjoy the feeling of goop between your toes. The rope swings were fun though and didn't require me to do that. We went kayaking twice, and I'd have to say it was one of my favorite parts. We saw turtles a little ways down the river, and the experience was just plain peaceful. In addition to that, we played horseshoes and basketball. They also have a swing set for little ones. I can't speak highly enough of how relaxing the environment is! Overall, I'd love to go back, and wish we could have stayed longer! My parents are already considering staying in the treehouses that they also have there. We had an amazing time on our honeymoon getaway at Geronimo creek retreat! The property is maintained very well, and the bathrooms were sparkling clean every time we used them. The cabins are super cozy and cute! We enjoyed using the kayaks on the creek, hanging out by the fire pit, and napping in hammocks. Also very conveniently located near New Braunfels, so we got to go enjoy things in town. Will definitely be coming back with our family, as this is a very kid-friendly environment, and we think the little ones in our family would really enjoy this place!! read more

Do not rent here this place is not worth the money and the expectation is not what the website shows. This place is in someone's backyard and no cleaning Service personnel available when you need them. No one was helpful at all. Trash all over the place and it was not welcoming at all.
