My insurance company recommended Gerber Collision last year, after I accidentally scrapped my Subaru against a concrete pillar while backing up. It was a foolish mistake but the damage caused was unfortunately significant. My insurance company sent a claims professional to asses the damages and forwarded his repair estimate to Gerber. My experience with Gerber started off poorly, which was a telltale sign of what was to come. When I dropped my Subaru off, they were nice enough and set clear expectations. Although my insurance claims professional said the repair would only take 5 days, Gerber said it would take at least 10 to get everything finished. The office manager, Jessica or Jennifer, said that by law they can only work on a vehicle for a certain number of hours each day. Therefore it was going to take twice as long to complete the repair. I don't know if that explanation was legitimate or not, but it seemed reasonable enough at the time. Gerber had supposedly scheduled an Enterprise rental car to pick me up from the shop and after dropping off my Subaru off I waited in their lobby for over 20 minutes. No rental car came to get me and eventually the shop had one of their employees drive me over to Enterprise instead. When we arrived at the nearby Enterprise location, they had no cars available and said it would be another 15 minutes. They apologized for not picking me up and explained that they had no cars available for pickups. I told them to pickup me up later and decided to take an Uber to work. About two weeks later, Gerber called me and let me know that my Subaru was ready for pick-up. I went by their shop to check out my newly repaired Subaru and ditch the rental car I'd been driving. When I went to pick-up my Subaru, I noticed some very obvious damage, a razor mark a few inches long, on the top of my tailgate. The office manager, Jessica or Jennifer, immediately denied it was their fault and brought out the shop manager. To his credit the shop manager immediately recognized it was their mistake and acknowledged what had happened. He explained that they had masked for painting and after painting removed the masking plastic with a razor blade and scratched my car. At that point, I'd been without my car for two weeks and was tired of driving the rental. I told them I'd bring the car back in a week or two and they agreed that would be fine and they'd repair it then. They told me it would only take a day of work, so they'd turn it around quickly. There was also an issue with one of my alloy wheels that they hadn't been able to replace yet, so that was on order. Turns out they had forgot to order it... We agreed I'd bring the car back when the alloy wheel came in and they'd repair the additional damage too. Turns out this plan was a mistake... A few weeks later when the new alloy wheel had come in, Gerber called me, and I went in to drop my Subaru off. They loaned me one of their rental cars, which turned out to be a 1990 Chrysler Sebring. It was in very poor condition and was the very definition of a beater. I figured it would be all right for a day and drove away, hoping no one I knew would see me driving this wreck. Of course my Subaru wasn't finished the next day... When I went into the shop that next day, they told me it wasn't ready and that it would be a couple more days. They swapped my Chrysler Sebring for a Chrysler minivan and it was just as bad, maybe worse, than the Sebring. Again, I drove away hoping that no one I knew would see me... When it came time to settle the repair and finally get my Subaru back, Gerber tried to nickel and dime me for miscellaneous charges that supposedly weren't covered by insurance. As part of the repair, Gerber needed to replace two of my alloy rims that were damaged in the accident. This was covered by insurance. Yet they still attempted to charge me $40 for rotating the tires around in order to make that change. I debated with Jessica or Jennifer, over the charge and the manager from his back office heard us talking and told her to waive it. She was was obviously unhappy about waiving it, but complied with his request anyway. There was something else they tried to charge me for too, but I can't remember the details. As you can assuredly tell, if you've managed to read this entire review, my experience with Gerber Collision was not great. The repair took substantially longer than insurance had estimated and longer than Gerber had promised. They didn't order necessary parts to complete the repair on time. They damaged my Subaru during the repair. They attempted to charge me for work that should have been covered by insurance. They had terrible rental cars that any other business would have been absolutely embarrassed to loan out to customers. Gerber Collision failed on so many levels and my experience working with them was awful. Customer beware! read more

Slammed my car into a steel support beam in a parking garage. I was able to hand it over the next morning and was looked at quickly and parts were ordered as soon as possible. They were able to get things paint matched and assembled as soon as possible and got it back to me in 2 weeks from when I brought it in. Very happy with the end product and they were giving me updates whenever something happened. They even took the rental back to the rental place for me. read more

I brought my car here after damage from a snow plow. I will say a complaint would be after I got my car back the undershield wasn't put back on fully. I tried calling on the weekend to try and leave a voicemail to get a call back on Monday but the voicemail was full. I found it a little weird a business would have a full voicemail box. But I was able to bring it by the following Monday and they were very kind about getting everything resolved about the undershield! read more

Huge shout out the to amazing team, everyone was great to work with. i walked in spoke with Patrick he grabbed Shannon for me and the fun began. not only is Shannon's personality electric she is very customer friendly. my vehicle was dropped off on a Thursday late afternoon, and I received a text letting me know the estimate process had started.. I got a text for everything unreal right?! the communication was spot on, and I truly felt like they cared. So as I mentioned before I dropped my car off on a Thursday and it is Saturday morning and my car is done! out of this world customer service! I will be screaming praises to this company to all who will listen! o highly suggest these guys, they do it right! read more

Leaving this review due to the other low reviews on Yelp. My vehicle was just completed by Gerber Collision. The damage was from a minor rear end collision that was covered by insurance. The drop off appointment was scheduled by my insurance company. To put it simply, I'm very pleased with the entire experience with Gerber Collision. I definitely recommend the firm for the quality of the repair and the positive experience I had with them. I don't know how they could have assisted any better with what I expected to be a stressful experience. Dropping off the car was simple. A staff member came out and circled items needing attention with a marker. They then called the car rental company and informed them I needed a pick me up. Gerber had an estimated cost and completion date the day after dropping off the car. It was at this point that I found the low, low reviews here on Yelp. I was a little nervous about that but the car was there already so I decided to see what happened. What happened is that the repair was completed on the day it was planned at exactly the estimated cost (which was paid by insurance). When I saw the repair I was blown away by the quality of the work. My rear bumper had not looked that good in a long time. The paint match was perfect. The fit of the panels was perfect. Not only that, Gerber had detailed the interior of the car. I don't like admitting it, but a cleaning inside was way overdue. The detailing even found something I had lost from my key ring a month ago and left it in the console for me. To make things even better, Gerber Collision made returning my rental car super easy. I was worried about transferring a child's car seat, returning the rental car, having the rental company give me a ride back to Gerber where my car would be. The person working at the Gerber front desk said, "that's no problem. Just leave the rental car key with me and I'll call them and have them pick up the rental from us." When I said I still needed to put gas in the rental, she let me know that there's a convenient gas station right next door. Sure enough, I gassed up the rental, left it with Gerber, and went on my way. I got a call from the rental company the next day to inform that they got the rental back on time and everything looked good. So yeah, 5 stars. read more

All I can say is I wish I would have took the reviews seriously instead of giving benefit of the doubt thinking maybe the reviews left where just hostile and maybe not accurate. These reviews where so on spot accurate about the service at this location. I will never return to this location. And this location has made me walk away from doing business from this company in general. Unfortunately I have life time warranty for repairs with this company and I still have no desire to return to them. I never leave reviews that are negative because I dnt want to effect the business. But in this case I have no choice to do so and make others aware. My situation is far too long and far too detailed to explain. But I will say please pay attention to the reviews you see and dnt give benefit of the doubt like I did. You will regret it. read more

This Collision company is a shady, crooked business that preys on customers with Progressive auto insurance. Be wary before entering, not only did they total our car thanks to a minor bumper repair, they also took it upon themselves to pull apart the back end and break the tail lights to prevent t our family from challenging their assessment. On top of this, after a month of holding our car hostage, I called a 3rd party to remove our vehicle from their shop in Murray, they destroyed every part of the bumper and tail section so they could protect their lies and deceit. My suggestion is to tell everyone this group, Gerber Collision is a predatory company that uses people's ignorance regarding insurance to total valuable vehicles and resell them for profit. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! My SUV was in an accident. Progressive Ins. sent it to Gerber for repairs. When I picked it up, it began shaking violently on the freeway so I immediately took it to Burt Bros. in Sugar House and found that Gerber had NOT aligned the front or rear as stated on their repair invoice. Monday, someone from Gerber called me and became defensive stating they had aligned my SUV. I have the computerized analysis printout from Bert Bros. to prove it was never done. I took my SUV to a Ford dealership to audit the Gerber repairs. The other repairs were completed as stated on their invoice. read more
