Gerber rep was friendly and helpful setting up my appointment. The repair guy was on-time and friendly. Finished the job in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, I didn't find out till later that he mis aligned my automatic window which now doesn't roll all the way up the way it used to. I didn't discover this until a month later when I took my car to the car wash and when it was going thru the wash, water was coming into my car. When I did a closer inspection I discovered that the window doesn't roll all the way up. Other then that I was satisfied with the over all work. For me, it's in the details. Since having my car repaired from a collision, I've come across a few problems. 1. The rear lift gate no longer closes properly when the weather is cold. It's kicks back open. 2. The rear windshield wipers were not hooked back up properly and they no longer work to spray fluid. 3. The badging was installed differently than factory with different spacing. 4. One of the muffler tailpipes is crooked and doesn't sit evenly in the cutout and it looks odd once you've noticed it. I took my vehicle to Volvo because of the wiper and trunk issue. They took one look and told me to contact the body shop as it would not be warranty work since it was not properly installed/adjusted/repaired by the insurance body shop. Suggested by our ins company so we took our car over. Roughly 7 to 10 days later we were called to come pick it up. You know there is a problem when my 1st words are " you got to do better than this" When she brought the car out to us where the fender meets the bumper was sticking out at least 1/2 an inch??? She left and came back with a supervisor they talked for a moment and as I'm pointing our my issues he informs me that this repair is good enough for MOST people ....... Its also ironic that as we are talking he starts pointing out other issues I had not seen nothing lining up..?? Maybe I am wrong here I did not know this is how you do business. We paid our deductible understanding they would order o-e parts and get us back in for repairs asap. After a week and a half of not hearing from them I get my INS company involved I was so upset. It took my INS a long time to convince me to go back to this company. When we go back everyone is soo nice we even got a rental car on them for 3 days. We were satisfied with the repair.... Here are some suggestions for Gerber please heed my Advice. When a customer points out problems they have with a repair DO NOT INSULT them. When a supervisor can clearly see issues and points out others not noticed should the car ever have made it to the customer? Where is quality control? Allowing a customer to SLIP through the cracks for a week and a half ... I cant help you with this one but I bet my INS company could. The rental car for 3 days was a nice way to try to make it better here"s the rub it cost me $70.00 because I learned a long time ago always buy the rental cars INS. Do NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! You've been warned. They over price everything and charge to replace things that don't need replacing. They charged my insurance company to replace a whole door column because of a pint chip. Ridiculous! they padded the bill so much, that the insurance salvaged my car. I was charged almost $4000 for a job that another shop charged $1200. Before I took my car there I was warned by a friend who had an accident. The insurance company that was paying for his damages refused to use Gerber Collision. He said the insurance claimed that all their clients were dissatisfied with them. DO NOT!!! DO NOT!!! Bring your car here!!! Took my car here and they gave it back to me sounding like I was on a dirt bike. Guy handed me my keys and I complained about the noise he insisted that he didn't hear anything. Furious drove back to work. And cried the whole ride. Took my car to Toyota so they can diagnose and they told me the exhaust was installed incorrectly and bent the pipe because they bashed the pipe in place instead of securely putting it back in. read more

Terrible customer service they are of no help at all. They don't care to help nor attempt to ensure you are satisfied and that they've done their job correctly. They don't do a through job and expect the customer to figure out and tell them what all the damages are instead of analyzing all the damages themselves causing the vehicle to have to be there even longer, which is more money out of your pocket in the long run. I will never choose this place again for any future car repairs. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!!! read more

If you are looking for great customer service and a timely repair, you need to look elsewhere. While the front desk employees are fabulous, the other employees and manager are far from it. Lack of communication about what they are doing and/or why it is taking so long, giving estimates that are no where close to being accurate and making promises that they do not fulfill...that is what you can expect from this company. They will leave you in the lurk by not telling you want is going on and if you reach out to find out they will continually make excuses about why it is taking longer than they initially told you. You will feel like they are holding your vehicle hostage. In the end they will do a so-so job and not address all of your issues but you will just accept it so you can actually have your vehicle back. Not impressed with level of service or communication at all. Took my car there two years ago for hail damage repair estimate. Never had it fixed and just got stuck in another hail storm. This time the estimate was less, even though we had twice the amount of damage. Manager would not call me back and I had to call repeatedly until he would take my phone calls. read more

Had a deer collision and Took my truck here based on my insurance. I received a text that my truck was ready to be picked up. When I called the receptionist to arrange for pickup, she stated that my truck wasn't ready and that the system was ahead of the process. That didn't make any sense because the system has to have input in order to automatically send texts. Later that evening an estimator called and said my truck would be ready the following day (had a weird feeling) - First flag. The following day, I went to pick up my truck and the receptionist pulled it around and preceded to go over the repairs with me, stating my mechanic or estimator was with another customer and that he would be for a long time. I asked if she would be able to answer any questions I might have regarding the repairs. She said no. So I waited. -Second flag. While I was waiting for the estimator, I decided to look over my truck. In my opinion, What I found was obvious signs that my truck had been driven; my leather seats were dirty and scratched, my climate controls for the seats were turned to the max, audio settings were changed, my display settings were changed, rear view mirror changed, dirty finger prints on my sunroof buttons, interior light settings button had been changed, discrepancy in the mileage (a few hundred miles, and how could the drop off and the pick up mileage be the exact same- handwritten mileage and mileage entered into the system was also different), and all my coins had been removed from my hand rest. - Third flag. Also noticed fog light bulb replaced, with a significantly dimmer bulb(didn't check and you wouldn't notice until dark. I talked to the estimator and explained to him how dissatisfied I was. I kept asking for the original paperwork that was signed showing the original mileage and they claim they throw it away once they input it into the system. I explained to him that the truck was less than 6 months old, I went through it prior to dropping it off and it definitely was not like this. I asked for a manager. Manager came out spewing the same lies that no one ever got inside the truck. They ended up cleaning the seats, that's all. We then preceded to go down the list of repairs. I found out that they repaired or replaced items that, in my opinion, had no damage at all. So I called my insurance company to let them know my dissatisfaction and that I thought they were being over charged. If you take your vehicle here, PLEASE VIDEO DOCUMENT YOUR MILEAGE, and go over your vehicle. If it's a nice vehicle beware. There was ABSOLUTELY NO reason to change my displays, mirrors, and climate controls if you never got in the truck. read more

Management received feedback from my previous review and reacted in a positive way. I'll clarify that, if in need of body work again, this will be the first place I check with. The work was solid and done quickly and the management responsive. The gap came in initially handling engagement and communication of details to an anxious customer with a lot of other things on his mind, with no clear direction on which State Farm Direct Service Repair facility would be the best in the area, and his best vehicle about to go under the knife (I drive a 98 Jetta to work, and a 94 B3000 on the weekends, and so my 2008 luxury SUV that I came into under very rare circumstances I try to take care of to the best of my ability, despite the efforts of the wife and kids to the contrary!) Likely, if you're less anxious than I, you're experience will probably be better initially. Overall, 4 out of 5. read more

Very patient team. I was involved in a car accident and chose Gerber Collision as my repair shop. The work done made my car look as if it had never been in an accident. As months went by something else went wrong under the hood, nothing to do with the accident (I thought it did), but the manager gave full attention to the issue and corrected it on the spot .. even went through my accident photos with me to explain things. Horrible experience with this shop. I have been back and forth with them since February of this year over a freaking head light bulb that they said they would send me since it was on back order when my truck was completed, they don't return my calls like they say they will which is pretty low considering it's only about a $40 LED bulb. Their customer service is terrible and I would like to warn anyone who is remotely thinking about using this shop. Also, it hasn't even been a year yet and the clear coat is coming off of my hood already. The only good thing that has come of this is that I have nationwide insurance and have a lifetime warranty on the work that was performed. All this shop is worried about is eating up insurance claims and once they're paid you can't get anything out of them. I will be contacting my nationwide rep that assisted in this process and I will be making a complaint and a request to have this shop pulled from nationwide's "approved shop list". A little common courtesy and honesty goes a long way and this shop and its employees have no idea what either of those are. read more

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE of Gerber/McDonough Collision. I will never take another vehicle there! Wife lowered garage door on the hatchback of her one month old 2012 Honda Pilot (1,200 miles). I simply told her she broke it, so get it fixed. She chose Gerber. I was there to pick it up. The job looked like €£¥%#! Buffing compound all over the rear end. Paint job felt like sandpaper. I handed the keys back to the young man and said "Call me when you get it done right". Two days later we went back. Less then expected? Yes. In the daylight, I also noticed my left tail light lens had been burnt by the buffer. This was not an insurance repair, I paid cash. Was this substandard repair done because a woman took the car in? Makes you wonder. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'm also filing a complaint with USAA as they use Gerber. I'm a 57 year old retired Army Officer that grew up in the auto repair business. As a pilot, I'm an attention to detail guy. Gerber reminds me of the old Earl Schibe commercials " We'll paint any car any color, bring your own masking tape". read more

I used to work for this location and also had my wife's car fixed here. First off they broke my key and still haven't compensated me for it. Then their manager Brian freshwater had Bruce the tech lie to me about replacing my wheel. What they did Is took my full size spare and and put it on my car when I was supposed to have a wheel replaced and grabbed a spare that doesn't even match my model car from God knows where and put that in my spare tire compartment. After all of this they had the nerve to tell me that they're not going to replace my key until I pay a deductible so basically they're holding a key they broke hostage after lying to me and half way doing the work. I don't think this location should even be open. Don't waste your time by going to this location just east the extra has and go to the morrow location or one of the Atlanta locations where you will actually get great service. read more

I had posted earlier that I was not satisfied with my pain job. Upon doing this I was contacted by the manager of Gerber McDonough Collision and Glass, Brian Freshwater. Brian was disappointed that I didn't contact him directly and give him the opportunity to rectify the issue. He said he would have taken care of it instantly. He really does care about customer satisfaction. He took my car back in the shop and oversaw the entire project personally. He provided me a rental car to use while my car was in the shop. To match the paint he sent my gas tank cover out to PPG. He made sure all lights were properly hooked up and working, and that the bumper was properly aligned. He really went out of his way to make sure I was a satisfied customer. He has regained my faith in Gerber McDonough Collision and Glass. When utilizing this facility, if you have a problem get Brian involved and he will handle it. Thank you Brian! read more
