It's probably closer to two months since I first dropped by Georgian Mall. I was in the parking lot for the Barrie Ribfest -- the drive-thru edition. It was held in front of the old Sears store, which is currently Spirit Halloween. That's my first impression of this mall. Stores close, but this mall and the folks behind it find creative ways to lure shoppers and eaters to come here. While heading over to the ribfest, I noticed an L.L. Bean sign. As a fan of casual, comfy clothing, I knew that I had to return and check it out. The mall's layout is interesting. I parked by the entrance closest to L.L. Bean and Moxie's, which was the second floor. This mall has two floors, but the top floor is more like a third of space than what you get on the first floor. If someone forced you to choose a single floor to shop, you would want the first floor because you've got more variety and the food court is there. I would be torn if this restriction was there, for Coles and Showcase are on the second floor and I love them. The main anchor stores are Hudson's Bay, SportChek, and Homesense. The former is massive and decent. I checked out the food court because, hey, I like food and my feet automatically moved me here. You get your usual chains, such as A&W, Subway, and Teriyaki Experience. The ones that I didn't recognize were Good Karma (Indian fare that looked so good) and Wikki Hut (Asian-South American mix of food that looked yummy). There is a blocked-off area to dine, with two staff members checking for your proof of vaccination and ID at the entrance. I spent most of my time in L.L. Bean and Hot Topic. I enjoyed looking at cool merchandise in both and ultimately making a purchase in the latter. I ended up getting snacks at Mr Pretzels and Kernels Popcorn. They are away from the food court, but the aroma from the latter lured me over here. I love that they are practically next to each other. I am a fan of both places and would definitely return to this mall just for these two businesses. The mall is clean and nicely kept. The women's washroom was bright and in great shape, which also included a separate nursery section. I saw a dental clinic. I didn't see any other health services, so you're not coming here for a doctor's appointment. However, you can get your prescription at Shoppers Drug Mart. The only downside during this pandemic is that there aren't places to sit down to take a breather, other than the blocked-off food court. I wanted to eat my pretzel and pretzel dogs somewhere. I ended up sitting in front of the fireplace where you technically aren't supposed to sit down, but I did anyway. It's a decent mall that has practically everything you need and a lot more. This mall ls springily nice and filled with tons of delights for foodies. I ate at their food court. Opting for Wiki hut, instead of the more popular options, and my taste buds were forever thankful, while leaving I spotted a Candy shop and my sweet tooth guided me in, Artisan chocolates, little candied snack ables and fancy caramel apples oh my! The rocky mountain chocolate factory store delivered. Their artisan chocolate boxes are a bit on the expensive side, but YOLO! and the box is well worth it. read more

"Barrie's premier shipping destination" and certainly its best mall. The Georgian Mall doesn't house retail destinations such as Hollister, Abercombie & Fitch, or an Apple store, but it has nearly everything else that its counterparts in Toronto do. While the Bayfield Mall and the Kozlov centre fill other shopping niches in Barrie, the Georgian Mall is the best all-around experience. read more

A mall is a mall. Couldn't really get my bearings since it had an odd layout. I didn't look really hard for a map, but definitely didn't see any. Lots of comfortable seating, which was nice. The usual selection of stores and food court choices. It's 2 levels with stairs and escalators. I mention stairs because some malls do not give you the option. Reminds me of the Oshawa Centre just with a crazy layout. A good place to kill a few hours. read more

Been going to this mall for years, it has come a long way since I was a kid. For sure the best mall that is in Barrie with great stores like Le chateau, Guess, Aldo, Disney store, H and M, shoppers drug mart, the bay and much more make this mall the center of Barrie's shopping life. Other great additions such as Moxies and Starbucks make this mall that much better in my opinion as those are 2 of my favorite coffee shops and place to sit back order some drinks and have a app. Not comparing to what Toronto malls ofer for a mall in Barrie and having all it currently offers I give it a 5/5 star rating! read more

Hubby and I went here for a date night couple weeks ago We just wanted appetizers and Moxie's didn't disappoint. We didn't sit in the dining area but sat in the booths by the bar. Extremely Cosy and private. Service was impeccable and food was delicious. We had their sushi wraps, nachos ( best in the city) and some wings. Great place to chill, in a nice classy environment. Oh by the way you also have THE best bathrooms in THE nation. Even if you don't need to use it- just check it out. You could eat in there:) read more

I remember this mall when there was a giant bulk barn upstairs, then there was a K-mart in lieu of The Bay and Herbies in the lower lever that had a snack bar what sold bagel pizza with sausage bits... yes those were the days! Today I'd give Georgian 3 and a half stars. Generally speaking it's the best mall in Barrie... no one could really deny that but I don't think I could give it 5 stars. The mall has certainly changed over the years and today is barely recognizable with its new face lift that make Georgian mall look like Vaughn Mill's long lost twin. Free parking is good, Homesense is awesome, and although I do life the redesign I still feel like this mall could revisit the basics. Somewhere between changing wall colours and kicking out some of their less upscale stores the mall lost sight of some necessities needed to make this place truly convenient. 1) Whenever I look at mall food courts I always see them through the eyes of someone who would have to work int hat mall... in which case there are virtually no healthy choices. 2) The anchors are sad. The Bay and Sears in this mall are in need of some TLC. For starters both are only one floor which means many departments are missing including electronics, bedding furniture and major appliances. Basically it's clothing, cosmetics and shoes... if you need anything else look elsewhere. 3) From what I can recall wheelchair accessibility is a bit difficult in this mall. Though the mall itself is quite large with two floors there is only one elevator tucked away at one end of the mall near The Bay. 4) When they got rid of Herbies in the mall they lost their only pharmacy. If memory serves me right there was a shoppers for a brief time which has since closed and setup shop up the street from the mall. 5) Variety... if you've been to one mall you've been to them all but I wish Georgian had the following stores to round it off: Lululemon, Forever 21, Winners, Kate Spade, and Anthrolpologie read more

Considered to be one of the best malls in the area apparently to of the three. As I just visit barrie from time to time for work, I was just passing by. It's a little deceiving when you first walk in but soon will find there are many stores to choose from. Coming from Toronto I would compare it as a cross between Shera Gardens and Woodbine Mall. Boathouse, Lids, HMM, H&M, Bath and Body Works, Sunset Grill to name a few. read more

I really like visiting the Georgian Mall. It has almost all the stores I would travel long distances to shop at (it's just missing. LUSH and a Build A Bear Workshop. LOL!). I have pretty much stopped travelling to other malls since a lot of stores I regularly shop at have been added within the last few years. I'm really curious to see what they do with the large space that Sears used to be located in. read more

The Georgian Mall has really improved with the recent expansion and upgrades. It feels like a much classier place to shop now. However, I am disappointed that the new management has decided to stop selling Cadillac Fairview gift cards. I don't understand why they would make this decision since the retailers in the mall continue to accept them. read more

I would say from my experience from shopping at the Georgian Mall I would recommend people to go there to shop since they have a decent amount of stores to offer which are good enough for the size of the mall because it's not a really big mall but it's not that small either like other malls I've been to which are around the same size as this mall. So I would say if you're coming to Barrie for a visit then yes it's a good thing if you choose to go there to look or buy but be aware that there aren't as many stores you find in other malls but they do have most of the ones you would find in bigger malls if not just as many as you would find at larger shopping malls, which offer considerable amounts of things in them. So as far as I can say I think there's enough stores in it for you to be able to shop for your self or others whom you may be looking to buy for. read more

I'll definitely say that coming from downtown Toronto I was afraid this mall hadn't changed or expanded their mall, but I was wrong they have upgraded their stores they are much bigger super busy but it's time to make The Bay 2 levels including expanding the entire mall bigger they have the land and two levels most definitely needed plus a Marshalls and Winners should be in the mall get rid of Sears it's been there forever and Sears sucks! read more

Definitely the best of the Barrie Mall's. I feel like there's maybe too many specialty stores that sell the same kind of things though. Like too many cellphone places, haha. read more
