You go and you want money and you have a great time. Bingo is so fun when you're only in your 30s.read more

I'm never going to give a VFW low stars because as a Vet I would never ever take away from…read moreeverything they do for us. So while the VFW itself earns five stars I have some feedback to share regarding the Bingo that is open to the public. 1. This is a family friendly bingo game but it's really not played in a family friendly encouraging way. This is more like Bingo for adults but you can bring your kids. Definitely to hard and competitive for a family to teach and enjoy bingo together. This is due to the highly competitive prizes the lowest prize was at around $100 and because of this it's not really welcoming to new people. 2. They make the games just a little too complicated. There is no straight Bingo five across diagonal or down personally I think to get more veterans and public involved they need to cut some of the prizes down and offer more that aren't cash based... a few rapid quick games that aren't black out could be less stressful and build more on the community and fun aspect. Lessen the overall jackpot a couple hundred and go for more gift cards and $25 dollar slots. Honestly you could probably get some local businesses to donate some pretty good gift cards as well. 3. The VFW is for and about veterans but when I came for Bingo that aspect was not mentioned there was a POW table but no mention of the importance no mention of the prevention numbers group events or benefits of joining a VFW at all. No mention of anyone's service at all and I think it added to an heir of disrespect that some people had because they forgot that the person next to them could be a vet... at one Point a m a committee member called a participant a white trash a** whole and I'm pretty sure he is an OEF veteran. Who may have had his own issue and needed a community... I guarantee he didn't find it tonight. As a matter of fact two members of the community were allowed to fuss about him "dobbing to loudly" as well as confronting someone who was being disrespectful to him but immediately they took the other members sides... it truly felt as though the mission of the VFW had been lost in order to play a competitive game. For a while the VFW has been trying to encourage millennials from OEF and OIF to join... but tonight was a reminder that we aren't really welcome. No one except the concession stand people engaged with me at all. There were no flyers and no information on anything to help us or encourage us to be a part of something. The thing is I'm not bitter because we didn't win we actually walked out with more than what we paid to play but I've worked in the Veteran Transition field for about five years and tonight was a stark reminder of why millennials veterans feel that they aren't welcome and supported but VSOs as a whole and have started to avoid them

Selenna was our server and she was so attentive to our party of 6 as well as the other tables she was taking care of. The salmon on my strawberry feta salad was seasoned to perfection! My brownie sundae for dessert was made even better when my request to have chopped walnuts added, was honored. The overall ambiance was calm, but high spirited. There are large TVs with sports playing, indoor and a heated patio for seating. Did I mention that Selenna was great?? I highly recommend trying this place!

They have another dining area and an outside area too. Hunter was our server and she was great! She had great recommendations and was an attentive, fun person. Our glasses never ran empty. We started with Jalapeno Cheddar Hushpuppies with Spicy Yogurt. My husband had the Smoked Brisket French Dip - Smoked Brisket, Caramelized Onions, Provolone Cheese, Au Jus, French Hoagie with Beer Battered Fries. I had The Motherclucker - Springer Mountain Farms Southern Fried Chicken, Spiced Pickles, Hot Sauce, Duke's Mayo, Niedlov's Bun. Hunter recommended adding Pepper Jack cheese and Bacon, as well as the Brussels Sprouts with Maple & Bacon. Everything was wonderful. There were way too many Brussels sprouts. It also would have been nice if they were cut into smaller pieces. They had a special dessert of Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream. This brought back childhood memories of my grandmother's cobblers. My husband had the Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Normally, I visit the Post for pool and cheap drinks…read more This was the very reason I stopped at this Post, except for a bunch of cool old Bingo experts suckered me into spending $30-$40 on bingo. Approaching the door, this building was a lot larger than the typical Posts I frequent. As I opened the door, I saw 1000s of square footage and rows and rows of tables, being quickly filled by bingo players. As I stood with my mouth wide open, this frail elderly woman basically told me to move my ass out the way so she could by her bingo books and get a good seat ha-ha! I laughed and asked her what I needed to do. She told me to take it up with the bingo book sellers - meaning she had no time for this newbie. I smiled and let her in front of me. After she bought the winning bingo book :), I talked to some friendlier elderly women, who helped get me my necessities and even helped during game time. By the time I stepped out the line, I knew how to play, who to ask if I had any questions and made 3 new fellow women friends! Clearly, I didn't win because "stuck-in-her-ways" took the opportunity from me, but I would be lying if i told you I sat next to a stranger. I found a seat next to her and began to ask questions just to irritate her :D Moral of the story, play bingo with the old folks. It's a joyous moment to live in!
