Amazing Christmas train!…read more We decided to buy tickets for the last ride of the night (8pm) for Santa's Enchanted Forest. We also wanted to ride Parlor class this time as we've ridden coach before. Parlor had tables and snacks and drink service! Santa was so much fun too. We declined having any pictures taken, I heard the lady say it was $25 for one print. Which is fine but I also didn't think I looked cute enough as I was bundled to the cheeks. It was below freezing! After the ride we visited Mrs Clause and got the kid's jingle bells and hot chocolate.

The exterior of the building is beautiful and there are a few historical plaques placed around the outside to further educate you on the cool history of this place. Great photo opportunity! The whole town is beautiful too, wander around and enjoy the local flavor.

The guide walked us through the small museum and turned on an electric washing machine that was built in 1903. (Why can't my appliances last that long?) If you have an interest in electricity, appliances, how life was in the mountains 100 years ago, or how the electricity lines used to be maintained over the mountains, this museum is worth a stop. It only takes about 20 minutes to walk through, but it was super interesting!

When white folks were just settling down in Georgetown, they started to discover gold uphill in what later became this town. The building is a large former schoolhouse, and has many artifacts from olden days. The staff is always great and one lady in particular is very kind and helpful. She has much information about the area. There are two floors, a sample school room, rocks and minerals, and a small gift shop. I liked how historical it all felt. We even got to see some longhorn sheep which was way cool if you've never seen one in the wild before! Definitely recommend trying this family friendly tour!
