I would highly recommend Milford Auto Sound & Security to anyone in Southern CT looking for car…read morestereo/security/remote start installs. Ed's work is clean, precise, and above all fairly priced. He is very approachable in his shop, communicates excellently over the phone and finishes his work in a very timely manner. After install, he demonstrated all of the features of my new remote start and security system which was way better than getting handed the keys and shown the door. He also tuned the EQ on my stereo system and amplifier to the CD of my choice (Ice Cube- Lethal Injection), which was an awesome personal touch. Ed is also great at fielding any questions you could ask about car technology-- whether it be speakers, security, Bluetooth connectivity, etc. if you aren't sure what steps to take or products to buy. Would and will return again for more work. 5/5 stars.

This place is dishonest and misleading. They advertise remote start installation on Groupon for…read morearound $149, but when you call to confirm, they tell you not to use Groupon and promise a better price if you come directly. I specifically told them I would buy my own remote starter, which typically costs between $75 and $100 on Amazon or eBay and asked if the $149 covered installation. They said yes on the phone, but when I got there, the price magically turned into $375. That is not a small misunderstanding, that's bait and switch. It wastes people's time and erodes trust. Honestly, after experiencing this, I question whether the overwhelmingly positive reviews are real, maybe friends or family. My advice: get the full price in writing before you drive there, or just go somewhere transparent and fair. Customers deserve honesty, not surprises.

I had been putting off purchasing new tires for our van, but with 2 balding front tires and now a bad rear tire, we had to bite the bullet and get a new set. AAA recommended Jensen Tire and Auto in Trumbull. I live literally 2 minutes from this location and had never once thought about stopping there. I always buy tires from Town Fair. I called Jensen's and spoke to Eddie Jensen on the phone. I explained my dilemma to him about having to leave for vacation and need work done as fast as possible. Not expecting much, Eddie told me he'd call me back in a few minutes with a price after he checked his stock. Two minutes later he calls me back and says he has Firestone tires in stock and can have him at the store in 10 minutes. He also quoted me a price of $640 for the 4 tires, mounted, balanced and a 4 wheel alignment. He said I'd have my car all set by 10:30 am. It was after 8 am when I called him. Being a Town Fair guy i went to the Bridgeport location. They offered me a set of "El Dorado" tires for over $850 installed. I had never heard of El Dorado tires before. They told me they could get whatever brand tires I wanted but I would have to wait and they would be more than the El Dorado's. I told them what I could pay at Jensen's for a brand that I knew of (Firestone) and they just laughed and said "yeah but you won't get the warranty and the free rotations, etc from Jensen's) I called Eddie back up and said I was on my way! I dropped the car off and was planning on waiting, but Eddie offered me a loaner car and said go home and get ready for your trip. Who gives you a loaner car for tires???? At 10:20 he called and said my car was ready. I picked it up and Eddie explained the road hazard warranty to me along with extra copies of the paperwork. Eddie also said I would get free rotations every 6k miles. Take that Town Fair! I am so glad I made that call to Jensen's Tire and Auto! Eddie couldn't have been nicer to me in my time of need! They have a new customer in me!

Hell froze over... I found an honest mechanic. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. So check…read morethis out... About a month ago our car battery died. We called AAA to give us a jump, and they ended up telling us the battery was pretty much shot, we needed a new one. They hooked up the new battery, and when they turned the car on, no radio. Just dead silence. There was power coming into the head unit, everything appeared to work, there was just no sound coming out to the speakers. By this point, the AAA guy had left. Great, now what. We called AAA back, they sent another guy out who couldn't figure it out either. It was a fiasco. So we filed a claim with AAA. AAA tells us to take it to a car audio place to get a diagnostic done and submit the claim (but no guarantee they would cover the costs). So we know they're pretty much going to find a way to blame us, and any event, we prepped to be paying out of pocket. We took it to 2 audio places, and they both concluded it was a blown amp... something about when they connected the battery, it blew the amp. Anyway, estimate averaged about $600. $600, and no guarantee that we'd be reimbursed... really sucks. So about a month later we come across Penfields. My wife decides "what the hell, we got nothing to lose". Enter Bob. Bob says "I don't think it's your amp." What's that Bob? Do tell... Bob thinks it's a problem when they connected the battery, and wants to "reboot" the radio. He disconnects the battery, reconnects it, turns the car on with a reset to the radio and POOF, radio works. Best part is, Bob tells my wife "you don't owe me anything... I'm just here to help people". My father always used to say "Son, there's only 2 people that any man can't live without.... A good tailor, and an good, honest auto mechanic." I'm still looking for my tailor, but at least I found Bob.

He's a very knowledgeable professional & the quality of his work was truly outstanding. Jimmy provided significant information and let me, (the customer) be the one to decide what path I want to take with my vehicle. He's an honest individual who's not here to sell you on stuff you likely don't need. Not only did he provide the complete full dealer maintenance thats required at my interval (30k miles), but also made my boring stock vehicle fun again. The best part is that the tuning was not part of my original appointment but he still completed the job in a timely manner, surpassing expectations. The stock WRX tune as anyone knows is very torque driven then peaks around 4k RPMS. Jimmy pro tuned my car and the shifting is smoother than butter and the power is linear. We didn't even add any extra parts except a boost controller, which will help my motor in the long run. I highly recommend The Shop CT to anyone seeking excellent service and expertise for their vehicle needs!
