He has a close attention to detail, which was important, but I think his greatest asset is his ability to "grease the wheels". I'd find out the seller had said such-and-such, and express my anger to Michael. He would take that anger and spin it, soften it, so that the seller side would hear what he wanted them to, and then respond as he wanted.
