He takes his work very seriously with the goal of bettering today's children through ethical medical practices. He views drugs as "training wheels" to improve the immediate situation so that therapy can work. The whole family is treated through counseling that he provides - instead of sending you off to a counselor to do the rest of your treatment. He wants to see his young patients improve and thrive in society without the use of medications for the rest of their lives. If you are simply looking for a Dr to write you an Rx - find a different Dr. If you are looking for a simple solution to a complex problem - look somewhere else. They recommend the Jones Center which my insurance wouldn't cover, about 1k out of pocket for the assessment. I called and my insurance and found a place Superior Health Center. The assessment came back with having ADHD and posible PTSD which Dr. Opalach reviewed and said he would not see me. I did not feel that I have PTSD and asked if I would talk to the Superior Health Center ti have the PTSD removed if he would review it again. They said yes but no guarantee. I had to schedule another appointment with Superior Health Center and the after further questioning the doctor agreed I do not have PTSD and do have ADHD. I send the new report to Dr. Opalach's Office and waited for Cynthia Smith the office manager (who I had been corresponding with via email) I called and left a message and send an email for an update. She called me back and said Dr. Opalach would not see me because it wasn't a "real" ADHD test. I told her it was an ADHD test done by a professional who specializes on this. She said No it's not!! Then why not tell me this when he first saw it? What a joke! Not to mention I called Superior Health Center and they said it's an official state test. After months of waiting to get in and money spend in test. The reason I wanted to get into his office is because Mansfield is a small town with maybe two Psychiatrist and he's the only one in network.
