We dined here twice over a few days for a change and we really enjoyed most of the food. We would…read morerecommend it. It opens from noon to 3pm for lunch and then opens from 6pm evenings and each evening we went in close to opening time the staff were sat round a table having a communal meal. We were largely ignored when we went in so we sorted out our own seating. Language was a barrier and caused a bit of confusion around Coca Cola - we wanted zero but they kept offering the full sugar variety. We got sorted after a while with lots of smiles all around. On night one we ordered 5 dishes: chicken and sweetcorn soup and pork ribs to start. We asked to have the ribs without batter, but they came battered; maybe the language barrier again. Our mains were chicken fried rice, sweet & sour pork and a vegetarian noodle dish. We also had a portion of beansprouts. The food was delicious and second night we went there early again and we waited for the staff to finish their communal meal opting for hot & sour soup, spring rolls, chicken fried rice, vegetarian noodles and bean sprouts. The portions were generous and the food was mostly delicious but the battered pork ribs were pretty poor 2 star and the sweet & sour pork was a good three star in a two star more vinegary sauce. The food came sporadically like the chicken fried rice arrived but the sweet & sour pork took a while then the beansprouts took another while. The welcome was muted both nights, most likely the language barrier and it had no discernible atmosphere, added to this each night 4 euro of the bill was the Italian coperto charge. It is what it is. When we paid at the end we got fortune cookies to go.

The stir fry noodles were horrific. Nearly inedible. Lots of the other meals were very hit or miss,…read morenothing impressive Not an enjoyable meal!

Well, I can say that my expectations have been completely fulfilled: the staff is really nice and always wants to improve, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is delicious. Regarding the food, there's a complete selections of makis that you're not going to find in the other restaurants of the city, like the spider roll (with softshell crab) or the sumo roll (with crispy rice). The menu then includes a large selection of nigiris and sashimi and some warm dishes (rice, udons, etc.). The fish quality is very high. As a bonus, the menu has clear indications regarding the calories of each serving and the presence or not of meat, raw fish and hot flavors. There are then sushi mixes for vegetarians and people who don't like raw fish. The restaurant provides a fridge with ready-to-take-away boxes and delivery service. Reservation is highly recommended, especially between 8-10 pm.

I couldn't decide for a very long time if I want to give this place a 4 or 5 star rating, and it…read morewould have been more accurate to rate it 9/10. However, it wasn't exceptional. The staff was great and the menu comes with pictures and several languages including English, which was very nice considering it's a Chinese restaurant in Italy. The servers were quick and the dishes I ordered didn't take long to arrive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly and clean. I ordered jasmine tea, Cantonese rice and sweet and sour chicken(because I myself am a chicken and didn't wanna try anything too exciting). The waiter brought complimentary chips right away, and within 10 minutes I had all of my food. The rice smelled amazing but was a little dry, which wasn't a big deal since I had the sweet and sour chicken. However, the chicken surprised me a bit because there was no breading and the sauce was more sour than sweet; it came with some fresh veggies on top which were fantastic. Overall, I am just used to the American Chinese food and this was a different but definitely good experience! I would definitely come back here and try something else because the menu is full of options, including very tasty looking vegetarian ones.

I would describe this restaurant as "workman Chinese" food. The menu comes in English and Italian…read moreand they have over a hundred options grouped in to categories such as antipasti, rice, seafood, pork, tofu and so on. I have the Cantonese rice, sweet and sour chicken, pork dumplings and pork with vegetables. The rice was light and fluffy and had a mixture of egg, pork and vegetables, exactly as it should have. The sweet and sour chicken was a breaded fried chicken cutlet covered in a very tangy sweet and sour sauce with lots of vegetables mixed in. The pork dumplings were pork with onions and garlic wrapped in a wonton wrapping and fried on a flat top grill, very similar to gyoza. The pork with vegetables was meaty pork bites with vegetables in a brown sauce that was tasty, but I can't identify. The sauces seemed like they came from jar. There was nothing wrong with them, but they seemed a bit flat. The decor is neat and tidy and pretty standard for a Chinese restaurant. Most of the tables were 4-tops, but there are a few smaller tables and I do not doubt you could ask for tables to be combined for a bigger party. The service was excellent. We were sat immediately and the server came quickly to take our order and helped us decide. The dishes began coming out of the kitchen quickly and in the correct order. If I were in California I would have likely given this place a 3/5, it is a fine choice. But in Italy when I'm tired of Italian food and themes and want a change of pace, it is definitely a 4/5. This is one of the few places in Trieste I have seen that will accept Discover card.
