I have been having a lot of problems with my shoulder due to a rock climbing injury and came to see Austin for a Sports Massage. He is extremely sweet and professional. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do and made me feel very comfortable! From all of the massages I've had in the past, this is the best massage I've had. Although it wasn't a deep tissue like I normally get, It's very clear that Austin has a strong background and training as a massage therapist. Based off of my massage I feel confident that any massage he gives will be great. I left feeling very much refreshed and would certainly go again! If I wasn't moving to another state, Austin would be my go to for my monthly shoulder upkeep sessions. You won't be disappointed going to Genuine Hands. Also if you keep a look out, Groupon has some deals as well. The only thing I'd mention is the location is a bit tricky to find in my opinion. I was fortunate enough to catch a groupon for a massage by Austin at Genuine Hands in the Body, Mind, Spirit ConnX office in Enfield. Austin recently returned to the area and opened this business in one of Enfield's many commercial plazas, located near the Smyth's ice cream stand across from Big Y. I paid for a groupon for a 90 minute message and called to schedule an appointment the same day. I had no trouble booking for early the next week and went in yesterday for my massage. Immediately, I was put at ease. The building has a calm and relaxing atmosphere with gentle music playing. I was offered water or tea as I filled out the information form asking me for a brief history of my experience with massage, pains I might have, and areas I might like to have a focus on. As a female, I am always initially a little nervous about male practitioners, but Austin was instantly calming, polite, professional, and conscientious. At every moment he was discrete, and he checked in several times throughout the 90 minutes regarding my comfort level. The massage itself was among the best massages I have ever had. Austin is an incredible massage therapist with a technique that goes far beyond the gentle rubbing and kneading I have come to expect from groupon massages. It felt more like an appointment with my (very expensive, highly experienced) chiropractor than with a "masseuse". Careful attention was paid to all the problem areas that I indicated on my form, and during the massage I felt the relief and alignment of my neck, spine and hips that often plague me from life-long sport injuries. I left feeling like a million dollars, after immediately booking a second appointment. If you live in the Enfield area, or even if you don't, I cannot imagine finding a better massage for your money. The pressure was perfect, enough for me to feel like I was getting work done but not so much that I felt bruised and battered.
