I booked and paid in advance, but accidentally went to the wrong barbershop first, which made me about 12 minutes late. When I got there, the vibe was already off. They told me and my friend that since we were late, they couldn't cut our hair anymore because they had another appointment lined up. Instead, they suggested we go to the walk-in barbers (who seemed pretty new) but I would've had to pay again. That didn't sit right with me, so we left and went to Danny's Barbershop instead, where the vibe was way better and they actually took care of us. The frustrating part is that I booked from 11-12 PM, and I don't think a cut should take an entire hour, so I feel like they could've still worked us in. This is the most disappointing experience I've ever had at a barbershop. I gave my barber a clear and simple description of what I wanted and showed a picture. When he first started messing up by extending my fade way too far, I brought it to his attention; it wasn't too late to stop and correct himself. But instead...He heard me and nodded, then CONTINUED. I have no idea what was guiding his moves, but it clearly was not my instructions or requests. Despite the end result not being what I asked for - at all - I kept my cool and did not get angry. The owner of the shop noticed I was displeased, came over and asked what was going on. I explained to him that I asked for one thing and was getting something completely different, and it just kept getting worse! I sympathize with honest mistake; nobody is perfect after all. I know there's many personal factors or stressors that can negatively affect performance at work, or sometimes we just have bad/off days, so I tried to be understanding and chill till the end. I was definitely expecting at least some kind of discount or something, ANYTHING REALLY. But no; at the end, this barber had the audacity to charge me full price for a terrible and erroneous service. No real acknowledgement of his errors or apology to me for my dissatisfaction - and trust when I say they were well aware of how I felt about my haircut. This place was more disappointing than biting into an oatmeal raisin cookie when you thought it was chocolate chip. I will definitely NOT be returning or recommending this place to anyone!!! read more

Dropped in on my grandson's birthday (6th) as this is the place my son takes himself and his other sons. "Rubin" was the guy Cruz remembered from before, but he was not there. Marcus took such good care of him making him feel like a little prince. Gave him a great "mowhawk" type haircut and he looked adorable. He just smiled and looked at his hair all afternoon not letting anyone touch it for fear of messing it up :) These guys are the best and definitely take care of their faithful customers. :)) read more

We came too the same conclusion. I gave it 2 stars to be fair because not all bartenders are created equal. There might've been an exceptional barber there, but we didn't get one. This place is very targeted towards young college students. Even better if you don't mind barbers speaking spanish most of the time. Great for anyone speaking spanish or learning spanish. Not so good for the rest who feel like the barbers are ignoring you. Kind of like getting a full body massage while the masseuse are speaking cantonese and laughing with their friends. I called and booked an appointment for my two sons to get their haircut. We got right in at the time they gave me. The two different barbers were nice to my kids. They were welcoming and kind to us and even asked the kids what music they wanted to listen to. They did an excellent job on their fresh new cuts. They both got a razor design cut into the side of their hair. They are a little pricey for a kids cut, but worth it when your boys want to have their hair done by an upscale barber in downtown Chico. I walked in without an appointment for my first visit and was immediately greeted by the staff. There is a nice waiting area with a tv and I only had to wait a few minutes to get in a chair. I asked the gentleman cutting my hair for a mid-fade. The cut was pretty fast, about 10 minutes. At the end however, I was told by the barber "I gave you a taper instead so the cut will last longer" and then charged $20. I didn't ask for a taper, I asked for a fade and even calling the resulting haircut a taper is a stretch. I would have been upset to have been charged $10 for this haircut at Supercuts and $20 for the service was absurd. The service was fast, the staff was friendly, and the shop was clean and nice which is why the gentlemen's barbershop gets 2 stars instead of one, but this was truly a one star haircut I will definitely not be going back. read more

Barber kept the chair facing away from the mirrors as he cut WAY too much off and did not cut it in the way I asked. Then the Bill came he charged me 40 dollars plus 3 dollars to use my card.
