They were even able to take care of it the day of, but I hadn't realized that they would be essentially destroying my tooth into a nub. At the time, I felt like it made no difference to get a second opinion or not and it had felt like it would be an urgent issue to not treat it at the moment, so I said sure. They had informed me that they would bill my insurance and I knew my insurance was supposed to cover it up to 50%. Well, come to find out that it's pretty standard for insurance to require a certain percentage of damage to have occurred before they're willing to cover it. I was very upset to find out that my insurance had a separate opinion say it wasn't damaged enough and that I had to pay the bill in full. The financial consultant at the dentist's informed me that this was common and that they had in fact already appealed twice (without my knowledge). I was not very happy to find out that not only did they know that this could have been an issue with my insurance and fail to inform me prior to my procedure (in which case I probably would have asked them to check with my insurance for coverage BEFORE getting the procedure done), but also that because they had already appealed without my knowledge, I had less power to have a say in the case, such as providing information relevant to my specific policy, which in fact does NOT mention any sort of percentage of damage required. As much as I have enjoyed their care up to date, I was very disappointed in how my care was managed in this particular situation and it has definitely affected how much I trust my service with them in the future. While I recommend them for general care, I would be wary to some degree and seek a second opinion before getting involved in a major oral procedure.

There is soooo much more that I'm leaving out due to the fact that this may have to go into civil and/or criminal aspects. I am simply asking for the help I originally came in for and to fix all of the mistakes made while under the care of signature smiles. I need my mouth unfucked now!! I am done being patient and polite, this is completely irresponsible by ones who call themselves professionals and I have been bullshitted since the first time they said they submitted for my crowns and never did(have proof of that too)! Ball is in your court, Drs.... my mouth isn't going anywhere, and neither are your ethical and legal obligations or your duty of care you signed up for. I started out with Dr. Epstein, who is now enjoying a well deserved retirement. Since Dr. Giannatti and Dr. Annicelle co-captain the bridge (no pun intended), the practice has hence been navigating the waters of new technology and techniques. I amazed every time I visit they have a "technical toy" to show me. Their practice is on top of things and I can't pass enough praise for helping to keep this "old boy" smiling.

I was told they were deteriorating and I should come back as soon as next week to replace them. Make an appointment. This was explained to me as urgent. I switched dentists. My reasoning was this; while the original fillings were done the same day, there is no way all of them could be in need of replacement at the same time. As of September 2020 I still have the original fillings that I was made to feel were in urgent need of replacement with no issues. I specifically asked my new dentist about these fillings on my recent visit, he stated they were in great shape. I understand medical opinions are just that opinions, but I did not like what felt like at best a cavalier, and at worst a life insurance sales person pitch. The real complaint I have, is my wife quit the practice several months later with the same experience. She was decent enough to call the office and complain. She was told be staff she would get a call from the doctor. She did not. My suggestion, bother to get a second opinion from another dental office.

I went back for a cleaning today and I expressed my discomfort at the prospect of having more than bitewing xrays ( and the American Dental Association has guidelines I was going by you can look them up your self even the ADA thinks dentists are going overboard with xrays) and he kicked me out for not doing exactly what he wants. I can only conclude he cares more about profit than respecting his patients and their bodily autonomy. Another thing that I found unprofessional were his receptionist texted me and threatened to cancel my appointment and charge me 75 dollars for a missed appointment if I didn't confirm the appointment with them. What's with that? I don't know about you, maybe you are the type that just goes along with whatever the dentist says, and if you are just interested in being told what to do and don't want any input about your oral health and are willing to just put money in the hands of someone who sees you as a profit center then you and Sherif Gabr will get along marvelously. In another review the office attempted to do damage control by claiming I was combative and rude, but that is just a blatant lie.

When they chose the name they sure chose wisely. The images they do are so advanced I can see find cracks in my teeth. The newest machine they used on me today scanned my teeth showing where I have the most pressure on my teeth. I am a major TMJ grinder. Day and night. Not by choice. I'm glad He understands me so well. He has literally saved my teeth! No one else in my family has had their teeth half as long as me. And this is so with his work! I trust him like no other dentist I have ever had. Other dentists have done crowns and I've been with unsightly bonding. With the work Dr Gaber has done. You can't tell they're crowns or fillings. I had been a client of this practice for years while it was owned by Dr Cross. Loved him! When he…read moreretired last summer (2025j, the practice was bought out but some large corporation and has gone way downhill. Clients were deliberately not told about the new ownership. In Jan 2026, I had a dental emergency- lost a crown and it needed to be replaced. I was given an appointment with Dr Manocha who TOTALLY botched the the new crown - it did not fit properly in my mouth and my partial no longer fit. She never bothered to even look at the fit once she glued the new crown in!!! I've never had a dentist not check the fit of work that they completed. When I tried to go back in the next day because it didn't fit properly, I asked to see Dr. Ctoss since I never want to see Manocha ever again. In addition to being incompetent in replacing my crown, she complained about my dental work the entire time I was in the chair. That's when I was told that Dr Cross was no longer with them. Furthermore, they would not let me see one of the other dentists for any fitting or needed corrections. That was unacceptable and I have since become a patient at another dental office. My new dentist is now having to correct the work that Manocha did and fix the problems she created.

My children were up to date on their visits, were seen April of 2025 and had their 6month follow up scheduled for October of 2025 with no missed appointments on their behalf in between; because dad and myself had appointments that we missed due to medical reasons, they canceled our children's visits and never told us. While dad and I did not agree that we should have been barred from rescheduling our visits, we were understanding and did try calling same day for appointments that were never available. We were not made aware that our children would also not be allowed to keep their already scheduled appointments (scheduled in April of 2025) and would not be able to reschedule, so essentially being discharged unofficially, No written documentation was provided to myself, my husband or the children, formally discharging us, no certified mail, no one called or communicated the children's appointments were going to be canceled. The manager Shanice was also incredibly rude when speaking to me about this issue, she interrupted me to speak over me several times and would not hear what I had to say because I mentioned how unfair to the children this was. She was also the one I spoke to about myself and my husband's issue when that arose, she failed to mention the children would be penalized, and failed to mention then that the children's visit were going to be canceled for October. I thought this was extremely unfair and unprofessional of this office and would not recommend to families.

I am someone who (sometimes) has all sorts of irrational anxieties about sitting still with my mouth open while work is done in it. But, I am always made to feel comfortable at Dr. Hinchey's office where I am treated with patience, sometimes pausing to ask "do you need a quick break?" and such. That I am aware, they don't use sedatives like nitrous oxide at Dr. Hinchey's office*, but they are not needed because the patience and attentive care is abundant. I am writing this review because I saw that there is only one other review of Dr. Hinchey on Yelp and it is apparently fake. It looks like they either were mixed up with a different dentist office or they just fabricated a story for some reason. Hopefully this review of the office of Dr. Hinchey in Glastonbury, CT, will dispel any concerns about what the other review says. There are plenty of Google Reviews that concur. * I am pretty sure they don't use nitrous oxide, but obviously call to double-check if you have this question.
