It was fairly full on a Tuesday for lunch so we had to sit by the front door. The menu is fairly simple and includes specialty sandwiches, salads and soups, a couple desserts and not much else. For as large as this space is, you would think they would serve more food items. Maybe their kitchen is just very small, not sure. The server indicated many of their sandwiches are steamed. I tried one of their sandwiches, the casa grande without olives, with a side (potato salad) and a homemade banana pudding. Sandwich - this is a pretty good sandwich that is moist due to the steaming and a lot of mustard and mayo. They also forgot to take off the olives though. Potato salad - their version is like a German potato salad with some skin showing and plenty of mustard as the base. The problem was it was too chunky with a chunk of potato the size of my fist. This is just too big to bite. Banana pudding - pretty good but very sweet My colleague's sandwich was decent too, but he also had a problem with some soggy bread. The service was decent as both our soft drinks were refilled promptly. Mondays amd Tuesdays are semi slow and they close at 3; however, other days are much busier with live music mostly on Fridays and occasional Saturdays.

The whole vibe of the place is very laid back and there was even a live musician playing. It wasn't terribly busy since it was during a holiday weekend -- I'm sure on a regular night it's a lot more active. It definitely seems to be a popular spot in downtown Decatur though. Great to go with a group for a casual night or just with a friend or significant other. Will for sure come to Brick again next time I'm in Decatur :)

They had a band called Bob and the Fog playing. They sounded good. There is room to dance. They host other social events like Bingo, corn hole toss and darts. That person sold fried fish and chicken with chips it was ok. I think some pizzas would be great. Plenty of beer to choose from their house menu. They have some wine and canned sodas. Prices are fare. Overall had a good time and we would come back.

We have loved their Blood Orange Berliner Weisse for years and have always said we needed to make it to the brewery. Today was the perfect chance. It was a Sunday afternoon, and luckily, they were open. There were just a few people, but as they day progressed, more trickled in. Michelle, the beertender, at the time was great. She suggested all sorts of beers based on my taste and let me sample them all. One suggestion she had was to mix the Mango with the Blood Orange. It was really good. The two that I ended up drinking were the Duck River Dunkel and the ISB English Ale. I also liked that they had pretzels and popcorn as bar snacks. We met some really nice people and talked for a while. It reminded me of the old summer days when everyone would just sit and talk and enjoy life. It sure beat the fast-paced and scheduled life that goes on today.

The online menu is not current with regard to not only price but even food selections. What I had planned on ordering was no longer offered. I ended up ordering the fried chicken salad with blue cheese dressing asking for no onions. Waitress returned to tell me and several others at the table that they were out of chicken tenders, hence no fried chicken salad. I upgraded to the steak salad. I'm guessing the few pieces of grizzle a top the lettuce was what was being referred to as steak. Also on the salad were the onions I asked not be included. Two packets of ranch dressing were tossed on top of the salad, not even the blue cheese I had asked for. My wife ordered the 12 inch pizza, as did several others who were part of the group. No one told us at time of ordering that they can cook ONLY ONE pizza at a time and each pizza takes 20 minutes. Indeed, one pizza at a time was brought out to our group spaced 20-25 minutes apart. My wife finally received her pizza well after everyone else had finished eating. Roughly 90 minutes after having placed her order. To add insult, each and every one of the pizzas was burnt on the bottom. About halfway through our meal a guitar playing entertainer arrived. As much as we did not need him telling us of his dire financial situation and how much he'd appreciate money in his tip jar or contributions via the QR code he had displayed, we certainly didn't need to hear his views on current social issues. The worst of it all was how loud he played. It was impossible to hold a conversation across the table. Forgot about speaking to someone at the other end of our group. We can't imagine a reason to ever return to Mickey's Garage.

This was a…read morethird choice after we struck out at Ramona J's (closed for fall break) and Dairy Delite (only had hot dogs and mom and I didn't want a hot dog that day). This restaurant is located on the square downtown. There's a seating area in front that's really cute, with swings and such. The inside is really nice and comfortable and vibey, plus very spacious! It has at least a loft and seems like it would be a great place to have a drink and listen to some music. It was quiet for lunch on a Thursday, with maybe two other parties aside from us dining. We didn't see any staff for a while, but one of the fellow diners encouraged us to sit anywhere. Eventually, Jaycee came out and quickly got us set up. She was professional and pleasant. It seemed like she was the only person working but our experience didn't suffer because of it. The menu has apparently been recently expanded. It has sandwiches and other bar food, as well as stir fries. We were all in the mood for burgers, so my parents split a burger and fries and I got my own. It's a two patty smash burger and comes with cheese; you can add additional toppings for a small extra cost. I kept it to cheese and ketchup. I think my parents added onions and mustard and maybe something else. They liked their burger better than I liked mine. Mine was very overcooked and dry, so overcooked it had an unpleasantly charbroiled/burnt flavor and crisp. The fries were okay but unremarkable, kind of like a middle of the road McDonald's French fry experience. The food wasn't bad really, but I wouldn't return for a burger. Overall, seems more like an alehouse (as the name suggests). It would definitely be a good spot to meet with friends and enjoy a drink.

Not that there was anything wrong with their…read moreprevious location around the corner - it just felt cramped and their "patio" area out front was tiny. Although I did not read their new dining menu, at a glance it was really extensive compared to their previous location's dining options. Back to the interior. The ceilings are really pretty and honor the historic nature of the new location. Also, it is very very spacious! The ceilings are high, and there is a second-floor loft I did not explore; however, it appeared to be very spacious! The General Manager who was working yesterday said they have a third floor that is not finished yet. The light fixtures were lovely, and the front porch is completely covered and has a variety of seating options including individual swings! The patio has several hard-topped tables with lacquered tops that overly numerous beer bottle caps. They were really cute! So yeah, the patio would be a nice place to hang out, except I'm 99 percent sure it faces east so the sun could be a problem. The bar was a nice size and indoors featured less in quantity, but similar taps that dispensed both wine by the ounce and beers. I think there were four taps and I don't know the system to get a drink from the taps, it's probably a credit card bracelet driven system. The previous location had displays of both beers and wines (both with chilled options in coolers) from which to select for "to go" purchases. This iteration of the alehouse doesn't have any displays like this. They do sell bottles of wine through the bartender and the General Manager told me you can order bottles of wine through their website at a discount. This would be a nice place for a book club to meet, or any sizeable family gathering and it seemed like I saw some games, patio-styled games for children. The G.M., Fallon, was very accommodating, friendly, and greeted me immediately. The service was 1000 percent better at this location than the previous one. The wines I bought were very overpriced. I was quoted $32.00 for a bottle of Chardonnay and was actually billed $36.00, and their Vinho Verde is highway robbery at $24.00 - when other wine shops and Publix sell a similar Vinho Verde for $10.00-$12.00. Also, do know their per glass (of wine) prices were less expensive than their bottled prices. This doesn't even make sense. Clearly, they have changed their focus to providing more of an "in house" experience.

Nice lady told us to seat ourselves where we want, GM initially waited on us. He was friendly. Wife said he made the margarita and it was great! A little stronger than my wife likes, just under what I like. After a couple sips she loved it! He recommended fried catfish and the ribeye as favorites. We tried both. Ribeye: cooked nicely, not seasoned enough for my taste. I would order and try this again, $26, with two sides. Steak was tender and was a nice cut of ribeye. Salad was solid. Mashed potatoes ok. Could have used a piece of toast I think. Next time a different side from mashed taters. Catfish: GREAT! Light, fluffy, fried perfectly. Hush puppies were good, a little thick though. Fried okra was also great! Cole slaw could be hit or miss for folks.. i thought it was good, wife didn't like. Should have come out in mashed potato sized bowl to eat easier. Some dislikes: 1. Steak not seasoned well. But I'd try it again. 2. Some things missing off of our plates initially (tartar sauce, mashed potatoes.) No big deal but if it was busier I think we may not have seen them for a while. 3. Person bringing single bowl of mashed potatoes holding with one hand, palm down over potatoes. Pretty sure it looked like hand touched top of potatoes. 4. Not sure if this is a smoking establishment but a guy at the bar lit a cigar. But he must've been asked to take it outside because he put it out. Glad he did because we had a baby. Not sure why he thought he could smoke it in there if he hadn't before. Overall, good visit and I look forward to trying more things and eating that catfish again.
