I booked the appointment online, so I don't understand what the deal was, as to why they didn't have time? Overall, the staff was nice. Right away, he suspected a very rare (1 in 1,000,000) auto-immune disease called Pemphigoid. I believe he has seen only two cases of this in his entire career. My regular dentist had never seen it. Dr. Bernstein did a biopsy on my gums and confirmed his suspicions. From what I know now, some people with this go for years before getting a proper diagnosis. I was in pretty bad shape, with bruises and swollen face, after basic first aid, on a Sunday, I called Signature Dental group stating my emergency, Dr. Shakeel was quick to respond and put me on medication. Dr.Shakeel made arrangements for an emergency checkup on Monday itself. The Entire staff was very friendly and caring, I visited the group and Linda took my x rays with care. Dr. Shakeel, had done a few procedures on me, worked my root canal, and took care of an infected broken tooth. All this in one Monday Afternoon. He was like a magician, performing every act professionally and meticulously. I was hopeless on Sunday but walked out of Signature Dental group with great confidence on Monday Evening. The Pain Reduced, and I was able to get back to work on Tuesday in Indianapolis! I made it clear I didn't want or feel the need for x-rays, and as a patient, it's my right to refuse them--plain and simple. Informed consent and patient autonomy are basic rights in healthcare, yet this office treated me like I had no say. They wouldn't even perform the cleaning without forcing x-rays on me first. No real explanation beyond "policy," no discussion of alternatives, and zero respect for my decision. This feels like nothing more than a blatant cash grab--pushing unnecessary radiation exposure and extra billing instead of focusing on actual patient care. The staff couldn't (or wouldn't) explain anything properly; they just see patients as dollar signs. Poor communication, zero empathy, and a complete disregard for patient rights. Signature Dental Group (and their "gentle" approach--ironic) is a joke. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere. Find a dentist who actually listens to patients and respects their choices instead of strong-arming them into procedures. Save your time and money--avoid this place at all costs.

Dr. Junck explained how things would go thoroughly during the consultation and he made sure to speak with me post surgery as well. Hoping it was enough, he waited until the following day. This is when we learned just how toxic and abusive the support staff is. The staff made decisions about care rather than consult. They accused him of being a smoker (he clearly isn't) and told him he couldn't be seen until the next day. Unable to work or eat. This is a farmer who works through pain and illness all the time and having this exposed nerve go untreated for 4 days is DISGUSTING. I called back to get banned of oral surgeon and support staff refused to give me the Dr name. My son got on the phone and we were told she would have to get with the Dr to find out which surgeon he should see. That was icky after threatening to call the licensing board of Illinois to file a complaint which we are clearly doing now too. The lack of basic human decency in the support staff who has assumed the role of a doctor demonstrates the lack of organization and professionalism in this office. Not certain where they source their doctors from but any dentist who admittedly doesn't know how to pack a dry socket needs to be known for all.
