Right after our first meeting he redid my taxes costing me an extra $14000 in taxes due to his "calculations" of my deductions. He never asked for my actual records of the deductions I was allowed. This violated his license as "calculating deductions without taxpayers input may lead to inaccuracies and compliance issues." I have gone through hell with the IRS on this. He didn't care what he was doing or what he did to my livelihood.

It was a HUGE relief they could help simply file for an extension, to buy time for me to find missing documents. I had a very complicated year to deal with, & still missing some documents. I'd struggled for months trying to get things straightened out on IRS.gov, with zero success. It sounds like it should be so simple online, but it's not, particularly when there were complications during the year that messed that up. Stellar said to just come to office with what I had, & talked me thru filling out the paperwork for them, & taking copies of documents I did have, to start a file for later filing. Also, that I can bring in other found records, anytime. Very nice people there helped calm my ragged nerves--offered beverages (warm day today), & allowed some chatting. That was just what I needed at that point. I did wish they gave a dated receipt or something, for my home files, showing that I did go there to file an extension on this date (last minute!), but that's not their routine--one never knows what may happen. The building they're in didn't have a street number on it--could only go by the footprint shown on the map. But each suite was well marked.

The numbers I was originally told did not match the final results "over 1000$ off" After having another professional review everything, my return was significantly different than what I was told to expect. That raised serious concerns about accuracy. There were also missed opportunities and lack of guidance regarding tax benefits and credits that could have applied to my situation, including items related to overtime and recent tax law changes. None of this was properly explained to me. Another major issue was being told that an extension may have been filed. I never provided authorization or a signature for that, and since I potentially owe taxes, that creates a serious problem. This should never happen without clear consent. Overall, the experience felt rushed at the end, inconsistent, and poorly communicated. I had to seek another professional to verify everything, which I should not have had to do. I recommend others proceed with caution and make sure everything is clearly explained and documented before moving forward.
