I came to Kim a year and a half ago after getting a really bad haircut. I I was sick and tired of my hair being frizzy and it making me looking like an old lady. I made an appointment and Kim gave me individualized service. She was very patient. I tried on several and she even took pictures for me at different angles She was not pushy at all. She did not make me feel like I needed to buy a wig. So I went home and showed my family and friends the photos. I called Kim later in the day and told her that I wanted to come pick up the wig the next day. I felt so good in the wig and so grateful to Kim for helping me to feel more confident about my appearance. I got emotional when I thanked her for helping me to feel cute again. Kim did not try to push any extra products on me. She told me I could wait on buying shampoo for the wig until I needed to shampoo it. I highly recommend this shop, and want to give another shout out to Kim for fitting me with my first wig and another one I bought later that I still wear on my bad hair days. read more

The owner is good and it is best to go there to buy your first one there but the owner has always been, for the last 15 years anyway, very mean, nasty, bad attitude kind of person. She runs very hot and very very cold. Get your first one there and then buy online. Never put anything on the piece like hair spray. Don't bother to wash it. Just throw it away and get a new one. It is never the same once you wash it. Get synthetic over real hair. It's made so well nowadays the real hair is not worth it. If fact my wife, thinks it is more of a pain. The owner does do an excellent job cutting it for you. Hopefully you get her on a good day but that is rare. If she is in a bad mood just go and come back. She can be very scary when she gets on a roll as a few have mentioned. read more

I went in thinking I might want a little piece to put on top of my head....on bad hair or need to wash days. Wow! I got it right out of the box, a great little piece that matches my highlighted hair perfectly. I put my stick straight hair up in a ponytail and wrap this shorter curly piece around my ponytail. Looks terrific!! I get compliments on a Bad Hair day. Sadly I don't remember the name of the woman who helped me. But my impression is they are all very knowledgeable. read more

Genevive's Wigs is an amazing place for wigs! The store isn't very big and they don't sell much of anything else. I went in when my hair was gone from my Chemo treatments. They asked me what I was looking for and gave me a variety of choices. The price was way lower than i was expecting, but still wasn't cheap. They also wrote on the receipt some special phrasing so I submitted it to my insurance and got reimbursed! Not only do they sell the wigs, they can style, wash and tell you how to take care of your new found beauty! I would recommend the service, prices and expertise to anyone. read more

This place is awesome in every way. Customer service is always friendly. Kim helped me pick a lovely wig, and we had a lot of fun trying different wigs on me. I literally laughed the whole time. She even tied it more to fit better, steamed and trimmed it for me. There is a variety of wigs to choose from. Kim genuinely cares for her clients and is a sweetheart . Wig Quality: 5 Stars Service: 4 Stars Price: 2 Stars Total: 3 and a half stars - It evens out! I needed a wig for my Halloween costume this year. I had short notice because I waited until the last minute to pick a costume. I would usually just buy it online, but I searched around online and there weren't any vendors that would deliver overnight express. I searched on Google and Yelp for local wig vendors, and 'Ta-Da!' The universe directed me to Genevieve's. It's a tiny mom and pop wig shop. Dainty, cozy (small) and quaint. The walls are lined floor-to-ceiling with mannequin heads donned with stylish wigs, for both men and women. With Halloween right around the corner, it is especially busy in there. There are two friendly and sweet staff ladies that tend to customers on a one-on-one basis. The wait and the line is long, but once its your turn to be served they sit you down in front of a mirror and have you try on wigs of your choice. You are handed a nifty hair-net cap that costs you 3.75 and you try on wigs in front of a mirror. ALl the wigs are handled only by the staff, and are placed on you by the staff. The style of wigs are professional grade and look suitable for everyday wear. There are also hair clip extensions and a variety of natural-looking colors. There are a limited amount of alternative colors but I did spot a few blues, pinks, purples, and multi-color wigs. For more information and an accurate inventory, I recommend walking and or calling them to ask them personally. I needed a long purple one, the longest one they had was a mid-length dark purple wig. They had it so I took it. Price: $86 including tax and hairnet-cap. Kind of steep but I can rationalize it as being worth it because it completes my costume goal. I would have given them a 4 Stars, but the price was just so darn steep. Ah well! If you want a simple halloween wig for lesser quality and are not looking for something fancy, I recommend going to a halloween store or buying one online (I'm sure the online ones will have good quality for a cheaper price). But If you have the patience for the wait (usually during Halloween) and don't mind paying a steep price for a good quality wig without the hassle of shipping times, this is the place for you. read more

She takes the time to make sure you are fitted properly, styles like Sasson and understands wigs as she has been in the business (her mother was Genevieve) since birth! Nice wigs but BAD SERVICE. I wanted a long wig just for fun and to change up my color. I came to the this shop (which is uncomfortably small) and no one was in there even though they weren't supposed to be closed yet. I went into the beauty supply next door (way better service) to kill some time. The owner and this other younger girl finally came after 30 minutes with coffee cups in their hands and didn't even ackowlege me or this other lady as we were patiently waiting outside. They came 20 minutes before closing which was very UNPROFESSIONAL! The owner seemed cold and the girl with her was making me UNCOMFORTABLE looking at the wigs. When I asked questions, the younger girl was being very loud for some reason and rude at times. She was asking why I came in there and was acting like I was going to steal something. If the service was better, I would've bought a wig. The prices were ok and the longer wigs were cut very nicely. Too bad the service was so bad. I wouldn't want people like these taking my money. I'd rather give my money to another shop with better service! read more

Don;t be fooled by the positive reviews, took 2 1/2 months to receive once Paypal was notified. The Wigs were nothing like the picture or videos. Colour only the purple dipped end was more burgundy than purple. Not Tags, came in to zip lock bags. The wigs are so so thin and see through. Worst ever !! read more

So I had to come here to get a wig for work.... What? Doesn't everyone have to do this at some point for work? I had to find a wig that looked just like a coworker. I didn't expect to receive such great service. At first, I was lost trying to find a wig. The owner, whom I found out later has been in this industry since she was a teen, was very knowledgeable and helpful as I was blindly looking for a wig that looked like a woman in my head. Stupid, confident me thought I could do this w/o a picture. I come back the next day w/a picture of my coworker, who just recently had changed her hairstyle and color. Kim found me the perfect wig and she also cut and styled it for me to look just like the picture! She does it all. She told me what I could do and not do to my wig. We chatted a bit too. Very sweet person. She is the type of person you wish you could find in every store you walk into - knowledgeable, kind, and considerate. She wasn't trying to sell me a wig, she was understanding my situation and going through it w/me and helping me through it as best as she could. I was at Genevieve's today and felt inclined to write this review. I had taken two of my top pieces to them a week ago hoping that they could "save" them. Today when I picked them up I was delighted to see that the damage through lots of use plus too many hot rollers was miraculously taken away. They looked beautiful. Now, that is my comment on their expertise. Now I'd like to say something about their great customer skills. Kim spend time with me telling me the best way to care for my top pieces... what to do and what not to do. She didn't push for me to bring them in every time I needed them shampooed. I came in to the shop to buy a wig most specifically for my high school reunion. I'm horrible with names and can't remember the name of the super nice lady who helped me, but she was awesome. She was very patient and took her time in answering all of my curious questions about the wigs she had in store. She had every color and lots of lengths and hair styles to pick from (wavy, short, long, bangs, no bangs, etc). Her price ranges are from about $79-$200 (roughly) depending what you are looking for. I'm not sure what her shorter length wigs run to be honest as I was not asking about them. With proper care I'm truly hoping my wig lasts longer than the crappy ones I bought online in the past. I would definitely return here again so long as I find myself happy with the quality of my wig after several uses. I was blown away by the customer service and patience at this shop! read more

Some of the wigs are priced well and all the decent and nice wigs are very pricey which bummed me out but I was able to find a fun wig at a great price. Absolutely amazing! Kim has the biggest heart and fully took her time with my daughter. My daughter is 6 and has Alopecia Areata. Kim took so much time to understand her situation. Came to Genevieve's Wigs in Orange County with my sister who was going through chemo and bought an overpriced custom human hair wig from Newport Hair Loss Center that lasted only 2-3 months(this happened 6 months ago). We found Genevieve's on Yelp 3 months ago and she ended up with a synthetic wig that cost her around $250.00. The lady at Genevieve's was really nice and didnt try to pretend she was something she was not(other lady claimed to be a "wig expert" HA!) . The wig sales lady never lost her hair from Alopecia and didnt need to wear a wig, but at least she was honest and didnt try to sell her an overpriced human hair custom wig (which ended up wrong color - and very bad hair). Thank you for helping my sister, she has been through enough and definitely could not afford another wig $$$ mistake. We will go back to Gene vies for our second wig soon. read more

Inexpensive Wig Shop in Orange County - I was looking for a wig from hair loss from my chemo/ cancer treatments: First went to Newport Hair Loss Center to find a wig in Orange County and its not even a wig shop, it was a salon. After talking to other women at Hoag Hospital about the owner of the salon (not honest) I went to Genevieve's and found a cheaper wig I could afford. Since the other place has wigs that are human hair wigs and last only 3 months for thousands of dollars , I thank God I went to Genevieve's and found the same wig for $400.00. Thank you read more
