I've been buying vitamins at Genesis at either their Davie St location or the one on Main for about 15 years. They always have a good selection of quality supplements, including ones that you probably won't find in other stores in Canada, and the prices are reasonable. I needed a specific kind of magnesium and after my husband didn't find it at London Drugs, I didn't want to spend a day running around in search. I called ahead to this place, and the woman who answered my call was extremely friendly, informative and thorough, quickly explaining the types they had, product specs, and costs. I thought it was polite, prompt and thorough. They're open late enough on weekdays to make it feasible for me to get there after work. I went in a few minutes later and the same woman was there to help guide me to the right spot. I didn't spend too much time looking around to see what kinds of other products they have, but it seems like the kind of place where you can get some guidance on your vitamin choices. In the on-going quest of "What the hell is wrong with Jody?", I've collected my fair share of supplements. And without fail, friends, family and eavesdropping passerbys each have their own miracle cure to save the day. Am I throwing good money after bad? Maybe on occasion. But every so often, something sticks and that something is worth its weight in gold. So in this everlasting quest, it's handy to have a little supplement bodega down the street. So far, this is the only place that's brought me some answers. Brain-On is keeping me upright and writing this, at this very moment and one can score VEGA for a few bucks less then anywhere else in the neighbourhood (very likely the city, but that requires more health nutting). The staff here are super knowledgeable without being overbearing. Plus, they'll give you the run down on where to spend a little more, and which supplements you can skimp on a bit. Too few reviews on this place! The staff are well informed and interested (or they're great actors. Well informed on the latest nutrition information, and they have all the interesting products you advertised on U.S sites that charge 200 dollars shipping. They'll tell you when something is not what it's claiming, or how the information is worded to mislead, and they explain why. I've cross referenced their information with PubMed, and the Lancet Journal-(though I don't count on science as the bastion of accurate nutrition information, that's another topiic) My arthritis specialist told me their is no way for the body to rebuild collagen or cartilage. According to the staff at Genesis nutrition there is: Medi-C+ and A.S.U I cross referenced their information with Pub-Med and the Lancet Journal- and my specialist was wrong. I don't consider science helpful on nutrition or supplements, it's history in that regard is scary. But I'm sceptical of health food claims also-it's a jungle out there. I've come in here a couple times and have bought two different supplements from there. Each one was new to me and after I'd bought them, I found that they were a lot more expensive than other places. Whoops. Decent selection of products. The workers are attentive and seem happy to help. i would have given this place a higher rating. i have been going in there to get a sleeping pill called ortho sleep they ran out so zac recommended another formula but said it was close I bought it and tried it it did not work so I read the ingredients they were close but not the same I did not sleep that night I called and let him know that he made every excuse in the book .i found a place close to me that had it .i called their other store in downtown they had it if he was on the ball he could have helped me out to see if he could find it I am disappointed in their pushing things off .i know the bottle cost $24 that could have be refunded and have a customer for life but the voice was look out for number 1 them read more

I have been using Genesis Nutrition for some 20 years. On October 01, 2015 I bought New Roots Vitamin C8 powder [ 250 mg] with an expiry date of 09/2018, a powdered product in a typical plastic container with a silicon pack. After struggling to scrape bits of pieces of this product out of the container, using at first the plastic measure, moving to a stainless steel teaspoon and finally to a knife to pry loose some of the solidified mass just under a bit of surface powder. These loosened lumps would not crumble; nor would they dissolve, easily, in hot water. I tried to return the product to Genesis on October 24, 2015 only to be told that one must return a product within 15 days to ensure an exchange or refund. Staff do not have the computer access to accept a product returned later than 15 days. So, the customer has to return once more to speak to a store manager. I located the store manager on October 25, 2015 in the downtown store. His first response was to suggest that I had done something to the product and to explain the store policy repeatedly. When a clearly defective product can be returned to the manufacturer, the first response should have been to offer and immediate refund and indicate the days that he would be in the Main Street store. This kind of run around is a complete waste of time.I am i search of a new provider of nutrition supplements. read more
