He was unscertain about a couple of issues he wanted to double check with another attorney whom he said knew more about registered domestic partnerships, and asked that I give him a days notice before signing with them. I was ecstatic, I thought my search for an attorney was finally over! Unfortunately, I never heard from him again. I sent a follow-up email to the general business, I called, and got nothing. No response. My friend who had referred me, gave me his specific email - nothing. I called one last time and got the attorney my friend was using only to find out he wasn't the one I'd spoken with (I had conversed with several attorneys and had not written his name down as all others had sent follow up paperwork & I had assumed this would go the same way)....... anyway, I spoke with my friend's attorney & asked him if he could speak with the attorney I'd spoken to because I wanted to hire him or would have to go with someone else due to time constraints. I never received a call back. I guess what I'd like to say is that if they couldn't have taken me on as a client I never should had been offered a consultation (which I paid for btw & believe I should be refunded for). Perhaps they were not comfortable taking on a domestic partnership case? I don't know, but It would have been nice to have been offered an explanation as to why no one ever got back to me, or as to why you would offer someone a consultation and sound so positive about representing someone and then never bother to respond again? It is just absolutely not a way to do business, or treat someone in this type of situation. Incredibly disappointing.

After speaking with Kyle the office coordinator so called "Office Manager" KYLE last week about scheduling a consultation with one of the attorneys on a time sensitive issue I was told I would be contacted via email later that day with some dates and times available. With no response still as of today and several attempts to call in to try and schedule with no return calls back I can see why prior reviews with the same experience are apparent. More so I continued to try to make a consultation appointment yet again this morning and spoke with the receptionist who let me know KYLE was the only one who could schedule the consultation and he was unavailable. It wasn't until informed the receptionist of my frustration and experience with no follow up from KYLE and I wanted to speak with his higher up that he was instantly available. He reassured me he had emailed me yesterday from our first initial conversation a week a go and deemed himself that should have sufficed in lieu of not returning any calls prior that week with my time sensitive issue. After I let him know of his poorly conducted attempt to contact me back he then let me know non of the attorney's were available or could take my case. His exact words were "no one is available until after the new year". I understand completely that the firm has many cases as they came highly recommended but as a smaller firm it should not take over a week to get a response from a schedule coordinator to let a possible future client that all the attorney's are unavailable until after New Years. Really?? After calling KYLE on his lack there of his demeanor completely changed and I asked to be re routed to the front desk. Instead of being professional he asked why and why did I need to talk to the receptionist. I let him know that I wasn't going to continue the conversation with him and would like to speak with the front desk. This is when he informed me that he was the Office Manager and anything that needed to be left with the front desk he could be made aware of. Interesting how if you a not even a client but a prospective and that's how you are treated then how actual clients are treated. All in all I believe this was a way letting me know to dodge this firm like a bullet.

After my first appointment with him, I felt for the first time that I had someone who had the experience, knowledge and firepower to advocate for me. He knows about high asset law and has a great team. I really felt that he really cared about me and my case. He encouraged me to do research and to contribute what I knew. He took into consideration my suggestions. Things went as quickly and with as good final result as can be expected. When we met with opposing counsel for the deposition and before the judge, the only thing I could think of was, "Boy, I'm sure glad that Bob is MY attorney-- and not my spouse's attorney!"

He couldn't be bothered to review the information I went to a lot of trouble to provide him and completely disregarded what I told him were my priorities. That's not to say he never worked hard. He worked hard to convince me to let go of things that were extremely important to me (like shared custody of the kids) because he told me they simply weren't going to happen. I realize now that he simply wasn't going to try. And he seemed to have a special gift for finding ways for me to spend extra thousands of dollars (like hiring a CPA to prepare a statement of my premarital net worth) which he then dismissed as useless. All that hard work must have tired him out because he needed to take a bunch of vacations. Most of which just happened to fall the week before some important hearing or deadline. We had one lovely little hearing together, prior to which my ex-wife's lawyer had presented three pages of arguments to the judge. I asked Bob to write up a response and even prepared notes with copies of corresponding evidence to show how each of the statements was demonstrably false. He told me he didn't feel like writing up a response. He said if I wanted one written I'd have to do it myself. Once we were in the hearing, he did nothing more than stand up and sit down when the judge entered and left. I could go on for pages, but you get the idea. My divorce couldn't have been more expensive or painful. You might be able to find a worse lawyer, but you'd probably have to be okay with spending a ton less.
