I had the pleasure of having my wedding at Genesis Farm and Gardens this summer and could not give the venue or its owners a higher or more glowing review. The venue is gorgeous and the owners care about every single one of their clients. I ran out of time the morning of the wedding and was going to have to scrap a final touch on my centerpieces, Vaunee (the owner) wanted to make sure that my vision came to life, and while my bridesmaids and I got our hair and makeup done, Vaunee personally strung beads on every single one of my 24 centerpieces. The review below, by Hannah C., in which she states that she would never work this venue again should be completely disregarded, as Hannah (the bartender I hired) was completely unprofessional and unprepared and the only reason the venue owner had to correct her was because of that fact. She showed up without necessary material which I had discussed and stressed with her prior to the wedding date. Vaunee knew that I had had this conversation with Hannah, which is the only reason she had to have a conversation with Hannah - because Vaunee cares about her brides. Hannah then refused to tap two of the kegs that I purchased myself and told guests that we were out of beer, which clearly was completely false since I had to return two full kegs and waste my money! In short, my bartender, Hannah, was the issue and is the one who should never be hired by any of you, not the venue owners. All of my other vendors RAVED about Vaunee and her husband, I could not possibly love them more, and I could not have asked for a better experience and wedding (despite my bartender). I highly, highly recommend having your wedding at Genesis Farm & Gardens if you could be so lucky. read more

Where do I even begin with the magical place that is Genesis Farm & Gardens...? Being what some might describe as "type-A," I didn't take our venue search lightly, but within moments of walking through Genesis I knew we had found it. First off, the owners, Steve and Vaunee, are the reason my husband, my mother and I chose Genesis for our July 2018 nuptials; they are as kind and generous as they come. Not only do they keep the property immaculate, it (seriously) grows more beautiful by the day. They are constantly making updates to the property that only add to the beauty of the venue. We felt so confident in the days leading up to our wedding and on the day-of, because we knew Steve and Vaunee would be there. Vaunee has previous experience doing day of coordination and it absolutely shows - she gave me priceless advice on day-of flow, layout and tips that saved so much time and guessing. We were also lucky to be able to hire Steve and Vaunee's daughter, Merissa as our day-of coordinator, who absolutely put us at ease for the entire day and in the months leading up to the wedding. They truly are the dream team. At the end of this crazy wedding experience, we walked away with new friends in Steve, Vaunee, and Merissa, and we are so grateful for all that they did to make our day so flawless and special. read more

I'm looking to have an event in this area next summer and found this location. Looks perfect, but the negative reviews were a put off. I work in advertising and customer service, so I know that sometimes negative reviews can be bogus. Guess what?!? I called the owner and asked her about the bad reviews. And the owner sounded really nice on the phone, but sounds like an older person that doesn't really know about how to deal with online reviews. Surprise, all the bad reviews were from the same wedding, sounds like the wedding party was the problem. If you sign off on rules, then you have to obey them. DUH! If I was running the place and someone was openly drinking in their car in the parking lot which is illegal, not just against her event rules, I would not be happy either. I would never ask to put hay bails on the carpet, outside yes, but not inside. Sounds like the owner relented with the promise that they would clean it all up. Guess all the drinking at the wedding made them have a memory lapse. I would not give any credit to the bad reviews from October 2014 and the Sept 2015 review sounds like the same straw bails from the old reviews. I will update my review after I have my event and let you know if there is any credence to the old reviews. read more

Wow! Just Wow! This past Saturday (8.4.18) we celebrated my daughter's wedding at Genesis Farm & Gardens. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. The guests were in awe of the grounds, and very complimentary. Vaunee and her husband Steve were amazing all throughout the process of planning and executing this glorious day. (Perhaps right down to the requested preferred weather??? LOL) When we first visited Genesis the place was basically all mud and older looking outbuildings. Vaunee did a fabulous job of communicating their visions and promises. My gosh, what a transformation. (They had only owned the property for a short period of time.) The grounds, the gardens, the beautiful details in every speck of the property. The bride's suite with chandeliers, the grooms suite with cards....all to make the wedding party comfy. I could go there every day and see something new or that I missed the last time I looked. Vaunee was professional, fun, warm and organized. She even embraced my o.c.d. organization weirdness. Lol. I could always count on a timely response to any and all questions (never had a concern). I would highly recommend Genesis Farm & Gardens for any event. read more

I am so excited to write a rave review for Genesis Farm and Gardens. My daughter's wedding was 6-2-18 and it was drop dead gorgeous! The new owners of this venue (I think it's their second year) are just amazing. Vauneè Birchler, has many years of experience as a wedding planner and was just invaluable in our planning. She was available for us every time we had a question and, without being overbearing, gave us so many good ideas as to how the evening would run as smoothly as possible. We had a wood fired pizza truck for our caterer (who were also awesome!) and we used the bar tending service suggested by Vauneè. In addition to the beautiful garden for the ceremony, the barn and tent/patio area are beautifully maintained and decorated in elegant style. For the wedding party there are two amazing "cabins" to prepare for the ceremony. It was so much fun watching my daughter and her bride's maids get ready together in this beautiful place. The best way to sum it up is "Absolutely Magical". I'm so grateful for Vauneè and all her help. Wedding planning is not something many of us do more than once or twice and she made it so much easier! I would like to start by saying a big THANK YOU to the owners if this venue. A diamond in the rough. I have had two events at Genesis farms and gardens over the past few years. I liked having the option of inside and/or outside because my events we're in April and May and around here you never know what the weather will do. The first was my baby shower four years ago for my oldest son. Everybody that attended just loved this little country gem, the yard the beautiful flowers and all the care that had gone into making the grounds amazingly beautiful. My second event was my mom 60th surprise birthday party. Not only are the grounds beautiful they are so helpful and accomodating with having everything clean and ready for us to set up. They have recommendations for vendors as well which makes it very helpful when you hire a catering company that has entertained at that venue. Thanks again Judy read more

My daughter got married on 8/20/2016 at the venue and I have to say we couldn't have been more pleased. The venue looked amazing with all the flowers and grounds immaculate and getting rave reviews from the guests. The new owners Vaunee & Steve were more than accommodating and helpful to us. Vaunee with her background in wedding planning gave us several helpful suggestions to make the whole event run smoother so we all could enjoy including myself the mother of the bride. They even came up with two extra table clothes from their own home when the caterer came up short! They truly made this special day unforgettable and so enjoyed by all. My husband and I were married here on a warm and sunny Sunday is July and I would not have changed it for the world! We had an amazing experience, from the first meeting with Vaunee to our final day there saying "I do's"-- Everything was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is lovely and you have access to so much! The crisp white barn is stunning with its hanging chandeliers and to have such a beautifully lush garden with the use of the tent on top of it all, is just wonderful. We did very minimal decorating because of how perfect the venue was by itself and getting ready in the bridal quarters and the grooms room just made for the most idyllic photos. Our wedding at Genesis Farm and Gardens was positively perfect! The owner, Judy, was always very polite and accommodating, let us see the venue as many times as we wanted and answered any and all questions we had. She is so kind and helpful. The venue is so beautiful and well-kept, with lots of options and perfect picture spots. Judy also acted as our florist and did an amazing job, we couldn't have been more pleased. The day of our wedding came and the rain started, though Judy gave us the option of switching the ceremony inside to the barn, she never pressured us when we said we wanted to wait it out and when the break in the clouds came the gardens were set up quickly and efficiently. Genesis Farm and Garden is breathtakingly beautiful. My daughter and son-in-law were married there on 7.21.18. Steve and Vaunee take pride in ownership of their beautiful venue. Steve keeps the grounds pristine. Every time we stopped by, prior to the wedding, he was pruning, trimming and working in the garden. Vaunee, a former wedding planner was so helpful with suggestion and ideas to ensure our day was perfect! She was always a text message away to answer our questions. The day of the wedding, Steve and Vaunee were there to help with set-up, parked our guests in the lot and then we're available to move things for us throughout the day. Beautiful property, with amazing scenery. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The person who runs/owns this venue brought undue stress upon my bride to be without provocation. She was surly and short with not only my one and only, but also my guests. This poor behavior was embraced by all of the venue overlords (the owner and her helpers) as they would stop at nothing to make a very tame and elegant wedding feel like a closely guarded day in the yard at a maximum security prison. I hope against all hope that our guests did not feel as preyed upon as we did, but I know that is not the case. Please find another venue as this one is not worth the stress at any price. read more

Not only is it beautiful, but it is owners are husband and wife and really care about your experience there they are professional but "real down to earth people " we had an amazing experience at Genesis farm and Gardens for our daughters wedding, as the mother of the bride I wanted it to be the perfect day for her , and it was! Vaunee is always there to back you up, she is very straightforward because she knows if one bad thing happens it can make everything go crazy. Always on top of everything to make sure things go smoothly for your big day. With 20+ years of experience she is truly an All-star. Very well organized and outstanding service. This is a beautiful venue. Apparently the negative reviews all came from the same wedding party. The owner was amazing to deal with and so friendly and helpful. As for the alcohol policies, there are strict rules that MUST be followed. I checked into other venues before making my decision and they all had to adhere to the same types of rules. I would highly recommend this as a venue if you want beautiful surrounding and amazing photo ops for your special day. This is a beautiful venue and especially when all of the flowers are in bloom. We have attended weddings at this site and relatives have had there weddings here and loved it. The owners are experts on wedding planning. She has been a wedding planner for years and would be a wealth of information if needed. The owners are honest, accommodating and giving people. Steve and Vaunee were very helpful with the planning of my brother's rehearsal dinner! The venue was beautiful! They allowed us to come set up early before guests arrived and helped us to break down when the party was over! They provided resources and vender options for catering!
