If you're like me, you learn nothing in an eight hour day stuck at a desk doing exercises. Well, nothing that you will absorb and remember for more than a few days after the course anyway. I need repetition and hands on experience at the same time but stretched out over a little while. One class a week for a few hours is much better for me so it would be nice if DPA offered courses stretched over a longer period. I realize that they are a training facility for professionals though and these are usually impatient people that are being paid to be there so speed is required. As for the office itself, I have to say the staff were wonderful. Friendly, accommodating and quick to answer any questions about anything. I think they're really doing a great job. The classes are rather small but that's a good thing because you get more one on one time and there are fewer people holding up the class because they don't know what "click on the button and open a new project" means. If you can soak up twenty hours worth of information in two days then DPA is a great place but if you need some time to put it all together, you might want to look else where. And be warned, the prices are steep but inline with other professional training centres.

There's many different classes offered here and a lot of the part time ones are free! I took computer science in grade 11 and that was hella rough so if that's you - I definitely recommend this place. I came here tonight to take the HTML & CSS class; I found that the class was easy to follow along and I definitely learned a lot in this 1.5hr class. Rocco was the instructor and he was great at teaching the course, he went step by step and repeated each one many times so everybody could understand. As a technical recruiter, I took this course to kind of get a better understanding of some of the front end positions I recruit for. What's funny is I used to code neopets' pages for people when I I was 12. HAHAHA, I know, I can't believe it either. Anyway, it was a great flashback and at the end of the lesson, you are able to create your own responsive web page. It's super cool, and you can also customize it. They also offer full time and part time courses on javascript, fullstack web development, front/back end development, UX/UI designing and digital marketing. It can get pricey but if you're trying to fast-track some technical knowledge, this is the spot for you. Hot place to be and you definitely don't need to be a 'computer nerd' to enjoy it!

We did have a substitute instructor and one of our classes, and while he wasn't bad, I certainly noticed the difference in terms of my ability to understand and absorb the material. For those of you who are more price sensitive: I was a little skeptical about paying anything for a GMAT course, let alone a premium for Veritas, but it's one of the best decisions I made in the MBA process. Sign up and they FedEx you a huge volume of print materials for the course, give you access to online diagnostic tests as well as more GMAT practice tests than you'll ever use (I think i used 3 of about 15). It's all a great way to stay motivated and on track. I began the course in May and by July I had taken the GMAT and scored in the 96th percentile, all while working a more-than-full-time job. You can have fun learning to create and also be quite surprised at what you're capable of at The Make Den. I have done their macrame and leather fundamentals class, and was actually kind of drunk for the macrame class (wine was provided for my group due to the occasion) and still created a work of art. The format of their classes are great too, chunking up classes and projects. It flows nicely and you walk away feeling accomplished with lots of goods to show off.
