IMO General RV Jacksonville has been horrible to deal with. I bought a new unit in August and due to the lack of service response or incomplete repairs I'm dumping the unit. I told the service advisor this only to be told that his manager would give me 70k less than what I paid for it. The manager had the service advisor tell me this. Not once did he speak to me about my concerns or issues. I realized it will be easier and cheaper in the long run to stay in hotels and drive my SUV than have this money pit parked for months on end. We constantly call attempting to get some resolve for issues we've had on a new unit we purchased 8 months ago. Refrigerator door doesn't stay closed, electrical issue under warranty never reimbursed us for paying for the part and now we had a break in and can't get an estimate. Made a deal at the Tampa RV show in January and gave a $500 deposit. We were told that we could pick up our new camper in Fort Pierce on March 15th. Several weeks later after the show after several calls to our point person in finance, we cancelled the deal. Reasons. Could not pick up the camper in Fort Pierce. This location was not licensed. We were told that we had to pick up the camper in Tampa, 3 hours away. Poor communication- we kept being told after several phone calls that they "knew nothing" and had no updates. Seems that everyone we spoke to was either clueless or didn't care. They were NOT customer focused. Shady business practices- after cancelling the deal it was disclosed that the deposit was non refundable. I would never do business with them. Beware! One star is being generous. read more

My rating is absolute zero as in horrendously worse than anything ever experience. If you even remotely thinking about going to General RV, don't. If you have, stop and run now if it is not too late. When I first visited the Ocala store last year, I ask a random customer there what they thought of General RV, she told me to run, leave now before you regret it. wise words which I failed to heed. After agreeing to a deal, placing a deposit, having the unit shipped down from up north, and scheduling an appointment to inspect it, spend the night, and transfer my stiff from old RV, they still could not deliver. They could muster even the slightest effort and urgency to correct just a few minor issues or get the paperwork correct. During the two-day ordeal, I even witnessed a customer get so irate that the police had to remove in handcuff. This is a very sad example of today's work ethic. For every customer in the office there were at least 3 employees doing little to nothing but socializing on their phones or computers and very little concern or communication between them about making sure the customer is being attended to. Everything was perfect through the buying , closing and pickup of our NEW RV...and stated to call if any problems, so very friendly. 3 weeks later....not so much Having issues with outdoor kitchen area being covered with water on the bottom everyday. This review is for the sales department only. We stopped in there to look at a small motor home and to trade a 1 year old toy hauler. First they low balled us on our trade and then removed the advertised discount. We should have walked out but we didn't so my bad. On the day we took delivery it wasn't ready and we sat there for 6 hours. It was obvious that the unit had not been inspected as there were a lot of problems with it. They will do anything to make a sale except provide good customer service. I will never do business with them again. read more

They do not let you look at product without a salesperson and worse of all before you get to look at the product the salesperson wants to sit down with you and get info on you. Funny thing is a few miles down the road is the largest dealer and you can look all day at anything without a salesman. I recently bought a brand new travel trailer with this company. Their office is ultra-corporate and seems more professional than the typical used car experience you get at a mom and pop store. But once you get into the nitty gritty, they're just as sketchy. The unit i bought was missing pieces, and I still haven't received them a month later. The money guy gave me a hard sell to buy the extended service plan for several thousand dollars (as much as my new pickup truck!), noting that the existing warranty on the brand new RV covers very little, and that I'll have to pay $275 an hour (on average) to get anyone to look at in their shop. On top of this I had been pitched the idea that I'd be able to pull in to any General RV store in the country and stay for 3 nights for free. Well, along came hurricane Helene, and I called the Fort Pierce store. Turns out they don't have any hookups or space. Later on, I asked the Ocala store about parking the RV there during the next hurricane. They never even responded to my messages. So yeah, not what we'd call a safe harbor in a storm. Finally, they told me I'd get a great deal where I could camp for free for 21 nights with a company they partner with. It turns out that company has NO locations except in a couple of deep South states (none in Florida), so most people can't use it at all. Bad Design. The quality of the Salem RV itself is about what I'd expect, exactly sturdy enough to pull down the road and exactly no sturdier. It's a Salem FSX which is a cool new design concept, but the engineers really blew it with regard to using space efficiently. The kitchen has almost no storage at all, but lo and behold, there are several big, mostly empty compartments in the kitchen wall, if you just unscrew the access panels, You have to move the sloppy wiring and hoses over a little, but you can add some precious slide-out drawers and a storage bin or two yourself. Also, I bought a model that had sat on the lot for several months. The roof has some wrinkles and mold spots that I know I'm going to have to deal with myself. The roof "warranty" for 10 years only covers the most catastrophic failures. But we all know that's now how RV roofs leak. They leak because the sealant around the membrane cracks and gets brittle. It's the usual cleaning, coating and maintenance routine, or pay huge hourly rates at their shop. Honestly, I'd like to give these guys a better review. Some of the employees seemed genuine and nice. But there's a culture of obfuscating, misdirecting and pretending to "be there for you" when they're really just shoving you out the door once the check clears. It's that fake folksy stuff that I could really do without. read more

Not a great experience. Paid cash for new Fifth Wheel RV. Purchase was easy. Chris in financing was very helpful. Coordinator Eva didn't seem to be able to make things work. We were on a tight schedule and we're told it would only take 3-4 hours to do inspection and get fifth wheel hitch installed. Four hours later, they hadn't even started. Left truck overnight. Transferred items from trade in to new trailer. Sink backed up in new trailer. Sensor on gray tank broken/fouled Had to leave to repair. Eva would call with report. No call next day, no call second day. We called her at 3pm and left a message. At 6:15pm Friday night, she calls, says trailer has been ready for hours in lot,ready to pick up. We say will pick up in morning. Eva not working Saturday and will leave key with coworkers. We show up Saturday morning, no keys. No note about keys. Coworkers have no clue. They eventually call her at home. Eva has no idea where keys are, could be in water heater door, could be in unit. Send someone to search unit, find keys in floor of unlocked unit. Trailer was left overnight in unsecured parking lot with keys in it. All of our items from previous trailer and new purchases for the new trailer were left in unlocked trailer. Her supervisor apologizes. Promised we would not have to deal with her again. Tank was fixed and we left the lot read more

I bought my new rv in Jan 2023. Holiday rambler invicta from General RV. I would consider this to be a rotten company especially with warranty promises. I have been trying to get repairs for 6 months to no avail. They dont provide even the smallest repairs even when you take it too their shop and never call you back. buy from someone else and save yourself lots of grief. Invicta is not to bad but general not good with warranty help. go someplace else. They want me to drive to Indiana to get my repair door recall finished. 2500 miles. they have several locations Ocala Tampa and they are at the Tampa rv show. dont do it. I called General RV and spoke with Michelle and she immediately got me scheduled for an appointment at 0800 that very next morning. Just to let you know that when I called it was 555pm and they close at 6pm. I brought it in promptly at 0800 and it was fixed and ready to go in less than hour. Rip off alert. General RV is a chop shop scam operation. I placed a 500 dollar deposit on a travel trailer at the RV show in Tampa with agreement by the rep that it was refundable for any reason. The 29,999. show price exploded to 42,478 as result of numerous non negotiable add on fees imposed at the paperwork table. I objected and said no deal and demanded a deposit refund which was denied by the second rep. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and was issued a refund after a lengthy process. We picked up our brand new class A at General RV last spring. Did they warn us beforehand that the ABS & traction control lights were on (which locks out cruise control) ? NO. "Sorry, here's your new RV - and you need to bring it to a Ford dealership to fix it." Ok, we dealt with that. And honestly, we love the RV. Now, a year later, the manufacturer has 3 recalls on it. Not General RV's fault, so we brought it back. After a week, they called and said the repairs were complete. So we drove 100 miles to pick it up. "Sorry (again), none of the repairs were complete, but you need to take it home because the parts won't be in for at least 4 weeks, and we don't want to store it." And this was after making us sit in the waiting room for two and a half hours!!! And it's not like there were a million people waiting around. Customer service sucks! read more

Mid April we bought a new RV and that night tested the generator. It failed to keep running. The next day after the purchase we drove it to the service dept and was told the generator for the fuel pump was not working and that they would order it and call us when it was available. Over the past month we made several calls to ask the status. No one could tell us if the fuel pump had been receiver or the status for when the pump would arrive and no one has returned our multiple calls. We even requested a manager call us back because of the lack of communication, but no calls have been received. After a month, we drove to the service dept where we were told that the fuel pump was actually being kept in stock! We brought the rv back on April 18 and called on April 24 to check the status. We were told that no one was available to tell us the status. SERIOUSLY!!! No one could even look in the system to see if the rv was ready? As of today we have not received even one returned call. read more

Well, it's plain to see that I and my spouse are not the only General RV customers that have had an awful experience! Here's our story. We purchased a Nexus Rebel 35R a few weeks ago. When signing the purchase agreement, the finance guy told us that he would be scheduling a date and time of our liking with the Service Dept. to install the added options. When we showed up for that appointment, Service tells us that no such appointment was made. I had to spend almost 7 hours at their facility when it should have taken only 4! But wait, there is more! When signing the purchase agreement, that same finance guy told us that we had to make a decision, right there and then, about whether or not we wanted any of the options they had to offer. He gave us no time to think about items that could, over the course of the 20 year finance, add an additional $20K to the cost of the RV. That my friend is "heavy pressure sales", but it all seems to be a day at the office for General RV. So, when were out on the road, a problem developed with the slide out cover and needed to be repaired. We cut our trip short to bring the vehicle back to Florida for service. Once back, we called General RV first thing the next morning to schedule an appointment. We were told that someone would call us by 6 pm that day....that did not happen. And at 4:42 pm on day 2 of waiting to get that call.....still no call! If we had known a month ago what we know now, there is no way in hell we would have bought from General RV. In our view, they are nothing more than a bunch of kiddies in a romper room looking to see who they can screw over next. If you're thinking about an RV, we strongly suggest that you don't go to General RV. read more

I am forced to give at least a single star, though the General RV in Dover Florida deserves less than even a single star. They are without a doubt the most incompetent dealership service department I have ever dealt with anywhere. Broken promises and lies is the theme of this review. On April 25th I brought our brand new RV back to General for needed warranty repairs. This came as no surprise, because no matter which manufacturer you purchase from, if it's brand new there will be little bugs that have to be worked out after the purchase. Upon turn in for repairs, I was told I would receive update calls periodically, which I later found out was supposed to be every 3 days and that there was a software program they used to help keep the service advisors up to date on who to call and when. That did not happen at all. My scheduled return date to get the RV was May 14th and I did get a call on May 13th saying the RV was ready for me to pick it up. Great! Because of out of town travel I asked if they could keep the RV for a few days and I would pick it up upon my return. The day after I returned I received a call from the service manager, Victor Morris letting me know that the repairs had not been completed, but it was a quick item that had been overlooked and I could come in the following day to pick it up. I showed up the following day to find out that the repairs had not been completed and the RV was not ready. I was promised then that the repairs would be expedited and they would personally deliver my RV to my home the following day, Friday, or Tuesday after the holiday weekend. He would let me know by phone for sure which day it would be. The call never came, the RV is still at the dealership and I am in the dark on the status of the repairs. Since the service department is such an integral part of any dealership and you will undoubtedly have to deal with them at some point, I STRONGLY recommend shopping elsewhere for your RV needs. I have already steered a friend away from these incompetents and will continue to be the voice of dissatisfaction they don't want me to be. The leadership at this dealership needs to be replaced from the top down. My message to the upper leadership of General RV, If you can't change the people around you, change the people around you. You are going to loose business because of your service department. read more

ZERO STARS! I second Bob M.'s comment. I cannot imagine or have I EVER experienced the WORST customer service support like this. My coach has been in service for almost 3 months for 3 minor items. They have yet to fix one of them, and in the process, they took my RV apart unnecessarily, broke items, and at one point had totally disabled the electronics. My service advisor apparently quit shortly after I dropped it off. No one bothered to contact me. Only after I had heard nothing for a couple of weeks did I call and found out he was gone, and I would be getting a call shortly. I did not receive that call for a week, after which my "new advisor contacted me." His first question is what is this RV in here for, and believe it or not; he asked me why it took so long. To the best of my knowledge, nothing happened on this RV for at least 6 weeks! Now they say I can come and pick it up because, and I quote, "it is as done as I can get it." I cannot believe this; I dropped it off on March 24 told to pick it up on June 9th, which is their answer. I really wonder what kind of condition it will be in, what will rattle, what will fall off, what else will not work as I drive away. BUY SOMEPLACE ELSE ... ANY PLACE ELSE!!! read more

Oh, and our car blew the transmission after they said we could pull the new camper. Their solution? We can trade up if we want. It's been over a year and we have never used our camper. Here is my story: I am Very disappointed on their service department, waited over 8 months for the warranty repair appointment, and numbers of phones calls and emails. He just don't reply you. Finally got an appointment, he (Christopher) took me that the problem will be fix by certain date, after two weeks, he told me the problem Can not be fix and ask me to pick up the RV and contact the manufacturer. I spend 5 hours drive to drop off the RV and spends two flight tickets from and back Miami/Tampas to pickup the RV for a problem that is not fixed! Met salesman and he took our info and what we were looking for. We already felt uneasy as most of the staff and sales were not wearing masks and there was plenty of sneezing and coughing heard. We wore our masks to protect ourselves and others. We felt like General RV does not care out protecting others during a pandemic. We would never shop here again...its creepy not telling you about the huge fees until they get you excited about the rig....these are the sales people that make all sales people bad. In short we shopped around and decided to go out of state and go pick it up....It ended up being $10,000 less and NO added fees...8 hour drive to south Carolina to save that is worth it! and we get to camp the first night we own it!! This was the worst sales experience of my entire life. Yes, you read that right....MY ENTIRE LIFE. They refused to give me back my $10,000 deposit for an issue they didn't warn me about upfront. I had to go thru 6 people, none of which were professional, before I finally got it back. If you are having problems with this company, don't bother with the "managers" they pawn you off to, speak directly to Rick Perry. Funny thing is, if these salesmen and women were as smart as they think they are, they could've had my sale, but attitudes, manipulation, and scare tactics don't work with me. Nice try, but no cigar. Well, the buying experience is as expected. They promise you the world as long as you are buying. Once the purchase is over though, you see the true face of this company. I called General Rv location at Dover to make an appointment for some simple warranty repairs on my Coachmem Cross Trail. The appointment was made a month in advance. I then talked to someone in the parts department to inquire about extra solar panels that I am still interested in installing. With a month to the appointment, surely they can answer my questions and have parts ready to SATISFY a customer. WRONG!!! I was called back and given a quote for an instillation of a "solar system". I told the young lady that I already had a "system" and I just wanted to add to it. She then told me that she would need to know about the system to give me that information. Well I assumed, silly me, that they had the information for my rig. After all I did buy it from them. Yet I gave her the information anyway. Well, she then told me that she will get with my "service advisor" Chris and he will get back to me. As life goes on, we spent 5 days at Everglades National Park and had no cell service. But surely, these are professional people and they will certainly have my information ready and leave me a message that I will get as soon as I had cell service. WRONG!!! Now with two weeks left before my appointment I tried to call Chris to prepare what I need to get my solar installed. Plenty of time right? WRONG!!! I called to talk to Chris, who is NEVER available to receive phone calls, and left a message for him to call me back. Two days pass and no call. I call again and left a message which I was told he had 48 hours to respond to and again no call back. By this time my appointment had come and I went in with my rig for repairs. We got there 15 minutes before the appointed time and waited. Ten minutes, twenty minutes and finally Chris's comes for the keys to the rig, 9:45 for a 9:00 am appointment. One repair was done and the other needs "approval" from coachmen before it is done. I told Chris that we were leaving Florida in a week and we will like to have this done before then. "NO PROBLEM" I will get this in and I will call you in a "couple" of days. We'll, a couple of days came and went and I called General Rv to find out the status on my repair. Of course, as I said before Chris does not answer phone calls, so again I left a message and I was told that by General Rv policy Chris has 48 hours to return my call. As it turns out, Chris does not return phone calls either. After leaving several messages for a call back, I was completely ignored. So I called and asked to speak to his boss. Again, 48 hours for a response. It turns out that his boss doesn't return phone calls either. Well I called and asked for a complaint department for General Rv. Talked to a "Customer Care" agent. Explained my situation and was told that someone from "management" will call me. That's right you guessed it, in 48 hours. Well as it turns out I received a call from a young lady who claimed that she just happens to have a little time on her hands and decided to help Chris and told me that they are still waiting for approval. What about the call from management? Surely they will call. WRONG!! It has now been two weeks since we left Florida and I decided to call and see what the status on my repairs are. Left a message for Chris and, you guessed it, he has 48 hours to get back to me. A little frustrated with the service I vented and asked the young lady if General Rv gives a crap about the customer after the sale and I only got crickets from the line. NOW I KNOW THAT THE CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT WILL RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW AND WILL ASK ME TO REACH OUT TO THEM TO HELP "RESOLVE" THIS PROBLEM. But I am sure they have 48 hours from my posting to get it done. It is 12:25pm on the 29th of January. The clock is ticking. read more

They low balled our trade. They want you to buy today and won't promise the same deal if you go home and think about it overnight. The person taking me through my Motorhome knew little to nothing about it. This lack of knowledge caused me significant problems. On Feb 28th, we had an appointment for an oil change, hubbly provides Shell Rotella oil. He showed the 'Service Advisor' the oil and 5 hrs. later we were finished. They put in the wrong oil!!! They forgot to do the lube job. On March 3rd we return for the right oil and the chassis lubrication. Hoped that they used the Shell Rotella and did the lube....... Who knows? Two days later, hubby checked dipstick and they overfilled the oil!!! We've waited another week for a call back and they want us to send photo of the dipstick!!!! We drive 94 miles round trip, 2 trips so far and now can't safely move the coach. So sad that this is now the American Coach dealer - we'll be buying another brand next coach! read more
