The best thing about the place, is that it stocks a lot of brands you don't see around the place. Mostly American labels, but others thrown in too. They're going to be getting in Rachel Zoe's range. Other highlights? Their cashmere and bags. My mother bought a dress from there recently, a navy shift. The pricing is on the higher end - this is nice stuff. I can imagine Remuera moms coming here and blowing a tonne of cash. Little Stitch is situated right next to Dry & Tea in that pocket of Newmarket behind Rialto that seems to be upwardly mobile of late. The store is pretty small but very clean and light and they've used their space really well. There are ample mirrors for those who are vain. Kidding. Kind of.

So imagine how I felt when I walked into Workshop and saw them there, side by side, getting touched by other women! I am, of course, referring to misters Wang and Jacobs respectably. And it's not so much them I'm in love with, it's the beautiful clothes and accessories they make and Workshop happen to sell some beautiful current season lines from both them and other hip designers such as APC and Hudson. Although they only have small sections for each designer, the stuff they have is gorgeous. I particularly love their selection of Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags and purses. It's a really spacious store as well, with lots of light. I love the fact that the rails all hang from the ceiling too, it really gives the whole place a very upmarket boutiquey feel. My only issue with this store is the staff. I guess it's just typical designer store snobbery for them not to say hello or any assistance to those they just see as browsers, but it grates on me all the same.

I love that Karen Walker has brought in other brands to her stores because it's so great to see what the other labels are up to. Here there's Karen Walker (of course), Topshop, Saint James, Julie Roffman, and a whole lot more. They've done such a great job of decorating the store. I love the huge pink horse in the middle of the store. You really feel like you're somewhere special. Maybe this is because they sell my favourite perfume, Flower Bomb. There are always wafts of this luxurious fragrance all around the store and it definitely sends me to my happy place! I also love Topshop's prices! It's like you're always buying something on special, they're so reasonably priced. There's nothing like feeling like a million bucks when you've only spent $100.

So imagine my surprise the first time I walked into Playpark by Karen Walker in Newmarket to go and buy a belt by the designer that I'd seen online and noticed that they've got a whole section of Topshop in the back of the store! They even do Topshop makeup (my favourite lipstick colours EVER). And that's not all they've got either, this gorgeous warehouse-like emporium (think florescent strobe lights and concrete floor) is an absolute treasure chest of not only Karen Walker but also Fred Perry Laurel Wreath, Happy Socks, Cacherel and more--an eclectic mix, but somehow, in amongst the giant plastic horses and floor to ceiling sized birdcage fixtures, it all works. They are for the every day, modern woman who is incredibly awesome. They have the most epic prints that you will only see at Gorman. My favourite piece from Gormans is their socks. Cheap enough to buy when you're short on cash but awesome enough to make an outfit look completely different. The best thing about Gorman in Newmarket is that now I don't have to fork out a huge airfare to Aussie for my Gorman fix. It's now right here for us to savour and enjoy. And also because not many people know about this store yet, you look like you've got a one of a kind piece just for you.

Gorman specialises in dresses, tops and trousers in really cool, funky prints. I think the great thing about it is that the clothing can really be worn by anyone of any age. Nothing in there is ever too short in the hem or low cut on the bust, which is perfect for older customers, but the cuts and patterns ensure that the clothes still look really trendy and hip enough for a younger crowd. My favourite things though are the shoes and boots. I've got a pair of little Chelsea boots from here and they are so comfortable and really well made from real suede. They have lasted for ages and I wear them all the time. The store itself is really spacious and is all wooden floors and walls, making it feel really organic, which complements the clothing perfectly. It feels very light and airy in there, so you can really browse for ages and the staff are always really friendly and give great advice as they clearly know the products inside out.

The clothes are really unique, both from other labels and within the ranges themselves. It's not cheap, but I still wear things from Ruby that i've had for years, and not only are they in great condition, I still get compliments on them. Although they have quite a few items on the expensive side, there are still quite a few garments that are reasonably priced. At October Reign they not only sell beautiful woman's clothing but they also have shoes, jewellery and belts. At the end of last year I went a little crazy and purchased the most beautiful Camilla dress from their store. 100% silk with hand stitched crystals, the dress is phenomenal. There is no parking available on Osborne Street however parking is easy enough on Teed Street.

I was attending a masquerade ball and the team when out of their way to purchase a mask and cover it in the same fabric as my gown! Pocket is like the Newmarket branch of MADE in the city. Both stores are owned by the same people,…read moreso it makes sense. It's kind of off the beaten track, behind Rialto cinemas in that little area on Kent Street that seems to be growing more and more popular by the day. It's standalone and the layout of the store is quite nice. They stock similar things to MADE - notably APC. They also do Karen Walker, Standard Issue, House of Holland eyewear, etc. There's men's and women's clothes and accessories, and as well as new, they stock some vintage. The staff were nice, friendly without being overbearing. I tried on a few things, walked out with a pair of really stonewashed 90s Levi's. I'd say the store fits somewhere inbetween Area 51/Black Box and Fabric in terms of prices and brands. My fashion/shopping expert friends thought I should give the place three stars but I think it's a bit above 60%, and extra points because I bought something. Worth a visit.

This is a brand new store which is part of the new street complex in Newmarket. It's a really lovely place, laid out beautifully and stocks labels such as Status Anxiety, Louis Vuitton, APC and Karen Walker as well as boasting a pretty awesome vintage section! Their prices were really reasonable and that is what I loved so much about this place, they hadn't conformed to the Newmarket trend and overpriced everything. I purchased a lovely leather bag for only $150 which I though was a real bargain, as well as one of Karen Walker's new season key-rings for only $29! The two staff working there was so nice to talk to and I felt really comfortable with them, not looked down upon which is sadly common in upmarket boutiques. I knew instantly that I had found my new favourite shop and I'm probably going to have to go back tomorrow and get those boots....yay!

This is a large mall where the Kmart was located…read more It reminds me of a typical mall, but with larger department stores that cater more to you every day needs. They have a Kmart for clothing and department items, and a Woolworth for grocery shopping, inside the mall! They also had some of the typical mall shops of namebrand clothing, a food court, and downstairs a little convenient store, kiosk, and even a massage parlor! I could've easily stayed here all day and explored for hours on end!
