Lets break this review down and keep it as simple as the title of this business, for any poorer…read morepeasants that may hear of this store. Suits on Broadway. They are on Broadway, Newmarket and sell suits. No heavy thinking really needed for that one. They tailor suits. That's why the staff member has a tape measure around his neck. They are rude. Younger people should be seen and not heard. Suits are for business gentlemen or weddings. Anyone who looks older or wealthier than you will be served before you will even be acknowledged. I wasn't entitled to a greeting until the older customers left the store and then I was made to feel like I had been lurking around the store. They are superior to any customer or any other business. Questions will not be tolerated as they know best. It was laughable that I would be looking for a winter coat at the beginning of Autumn. That I was to wear a suit, collared shirts and ties almost incomprehensible. Just because it says they sell suits, don't think this is the alpha and omega of suits. Their supposed monopoly on Newmarket suits is reflected in their prices (read: ties on sale for $160). There are other, more customer friendly menswear stores around Newmarket and Auckland, where you can pay better prices for the latest seasons fashion.

We hired all the suits for the men (including me, the groom) at this place. I really can't…read morecomplain, everything went without a hitch which is what you need for a wedding. Trust me, this helps because lots of other stuff goes wrong so it's good to rely on one element going smoothly. They were friendly when they were measuring us up and helpful with my XXL waistcoat - I was heavier back then. Everything was ready for pick up on the day and fortunately they didn't make any cock ups with clothes or the sizes or anything like that. They actually rang us a few days later telling us to come in and see them. We popped in and they handed us the marriage licence - it turns out our best man left it in his pocket. Overall, they did a good service with our suits and I would recommend them.

TERRRIBBLE EXPERIENCE. looking at other reviews and I see why this is a bad company to order from…read morenow. The "customer support", if you can even call it that, is embarrassingly bad. Either they hire jerks, or they have no training at all, or the people who work here are truly just bummer-people. That being said, I'd caution anyone to buy from this website and I hope you never have to deal with "Ryan" on their "support" team if you do.

Shipping during COVID is uncertain." So let's put this into perspective: the company doesn't believe it can guarantee expedited shipping, but offers it as a choice, and charges you for the service. When or if the package is late (not by 1 or 2 days, but weeks late), they say, "oops, sorry, but we can't help it. We're keeping your $18 just because." That makes all shipping for Army and Outdoors a gamble. Is this good customer service? No, it is not. My company doesn't offer expedited shipping due to Covid. We tried, but ended up refunding hundreds of orders. Our standard for customer service is the gold standard. Apparently, Army and Outdoors care very little for its customers. If your products are good, but your service is lousy, what is the point? Competition is stiff out there. I will buy all my outdoor equipment and clothing anywhere else. Update: Here is the response I received from Army and Outdoors Customer Service Rep, Jason: "Good luck with your life." Now that is world class service!

I did however head to the First Scene on 334a Rosebank Road, Avondale, not this one closer to the city. The Rosebank Road location has a props department, accessories you can buy, and loads and loads of clothes to hire. The lovely Miranda was our special helper (finding attire for four of us), she has worked for the company for well over a decade in several departments and is totally the go-to person! If you can't find what you want at First Scene, you are unlikely to find it anywhere in Auckland.

You can find everything from nurse and soldier outfits, to Mariachi costumes, Big Bird bodysuits to Seashell mermaid bustiers - First Scene is the one stop shop to a brilliant outfit and a good time! It is also possible to hire larger props such as statues, marquees and the like, be it for a themed party or to dress the set of a film. The staff are a heap of fun and love getting involved in sorting you out with the perfect get up. Prices are also pretty reasonable, with the amount depending on how intense the garments you're hiring are. One word of warning - avoid parking in the carpark. It's very small and the angles of the parks are not particularly car friendly. When possible, park on the street or around the block - save yourself the aggravation and embarrassment!

Oh Lordy! Black Box has an outlet store! Why did I not know of this before now, I ask you…read more I originally first fell for the Black Box brand on my first foray into The Department Store in Takapuna. Now that I know they actually have their own store, and things are actually cheaper than where you would buy them originally I am hooked. It helps that they had a babe'n sales assistant on the day when I went in there, all dark hair and tatts and well dressed and oh my god did I tell you I love this store! He was actually very helpful. This isn't your typical outlet store, they actually have stuff that is being sold at other places at the same time, its not end of lines or just stuff that no one bought. It's cheap AND its not last seasons. As well as great clothes, they also do amazing shoes too. Sales assistant guy: call me!

Every time I go there they've got something I desperately want and can easily justify to myself why I should have it. The clothes are good looking, good quality and are a good bargain. I'd go there especially if you want jeans because they have heaps of them and jeans can be really expensive. The staff are really helpful and being in such a good location, the shop is really handy for all those wardrobe emergencies. My biggest recommendation is that you go there before you go anywhere else because there's nothing worse than buying something only to see it way cheaper later on! Save yourself the pain and heartbreak by going there today.
