I've been a State Farm client for the past 30 years but only with Chris Janet for a short time…read morebecause he took over for my retired agent Mike Lyons. Most people don't like change but in this case it was an incredible change. I don't want to take anything away from Mike Lyons because he was a fantastic agent but Chris Janet is over the top and actually the best agent I've ever had throughout the years. October 2nd 2020 a tornado ripped through my neighborhood with a lot of destruction throughout. Many trees were either snapped 10' - 14' from the ground with the tops of the trees thrown wherever or were up rooted and piled over or a plethora branches thrown everywhere causing enormous damage to my house, pool, shed, and deck with the high winds. Two days prior, I underwent a double laminectomy surgery in my lower back and was laid up in the hospital. The night of the storm my wife and kids were visited me in the hospital and unknowingly, they went home and two hours later the storm hit. One of my daughters lives down the block of my same subdivision; in which, she had over ten of her own trees down with a tree limb pounded through her roof where we lost the same number of trees by us. The next morning, I woke to my cell phone exploding with text messages from my wife as she sent pictures of an unfamiliar place of devastation. Nothing appeared familiar and knowing there was a bad storm the night before, I worriedly asked which family member, friend, or neighbor these pictures of destruction were from. After a long pause, my wife called crying explaining Apocalypse now was actually our house and yard. In denial and completely hopeless laying motionless on a hospital bed, I called Chris Janet to explained the limited information of my house along with my present situation in the hospital. Before I could even think, Chris immediately took over and assured me not to worry because he already was well aware of the storm awaiting distress calls like mine so he could go out to survey and document the damages to get real time damage inventory Chris arrived by my house around 9:00 A.M. as my neighbor and close friend from down the block were chain sawing the fallen trees. They both later commented they were in disbelief that my insurance agent was actually climbing over trees and limbs to survey, document and take over 20 pictures before things were cleaned up to capture the true destruction. Chris called me in the hospital as he stood in my back yard explaining the damage. By the naked eye, my house appeared undamaged with the exception of my 44' x 44' deck housing my 30' above ground pool. I closed the pool early because of the upcoming surgery, which ended up being twisted by the tornado. Chris told me to reach out to some contractors to asses the damage and look more thoroughly at the house as well just make sure everything was good. What agent does that? I mean, I thought agents normally are programmed to tell people that you have minimal damage or will only point out the obvious damage and are not really supposed to stick their neck out to actually tell you to protect yourself and call on the professionals to come out and Critique any possibilities of damage which would result in a larger claim and essentially cost the insurance company more money. Chris Janet proved to me that my assumptions were completely wrong because my damages resulted in becoming one of his largest claims to date. It is now March 16th and my claim was finally settled last week and repairs begin tomorrow. You may be thinking 5 1/2 months is a long time and State Farm have been causing me problems but quite the contrary. State Farm has been incredible. Because I want everything addressed and all my I's dotted and T's crossed. My first contractor met with the adjuster in mid October and I could have settled then but I turned it down because I wanted a second opinion of another contractor; in which, the adjuster happily came out a second time to meet with a completely different contractor to essentially start over. The second contractor was more experienced and found many more problems than the first. Bottom line.... Chris Janet treats his clients as if they were his only client. Chris really is with you every step of the way and I will proudly tell everyone about how great my insurance agent, Chris Janet is. Instead of "What's in your wallet" it should be " Who is your insurance agent." THANK YOU CHRIS!!!!!!! Sincerely, Tony Olivas
