Great doctor, rude staff, be prepared to wait in the waiting room for over an hour without an apology or any compassion.

1000% recommend! My son needed ear tubes and our UCLA network gave us an appointment 4 months out…read morefor just the consultation. I found Dr. Rothholtz online and ran it by our pediatrician who said her bio looked stellar. Dr. Rothholtz was the best thing to have happened in our journey for ear tubes. She's patient, welcoming and doesn't rush you through the appointment. Since my son was only 21 months and her surgery schedule was PACKED, she told me she'd check with a colleague who may be able to help out. And she'd check with her scheduler if she could tack us onto the tail end of another surgery she had scheduled for that following month. I was still driving home when I got a call directly from her telling me she'd already checked with her colleague and was calling to ask if she could pass along my info to her colleague's office. I said absolutely yes!! The next day I booked an appt for the following week. And the rest is history. I was so impressed with Dr. Rothholtz's genuine character, proactive approach, and knowledge. She really cares for her patients and I can't recommend her enough.

Ive never met the dr. But on Juneteenth FRIDAY…read more I call to het a referral since the dr. Is an EAR SPECIALIST, the sorry excuse of a receptionist front office personnel gave me numbers that do not work. Said she didnt have an ENT on her list, then miraculously found an updated list when i said i would like the drs. email, of course the number DID NOT work. I understand this is a HARD PROFESSION...everyone is leaving California. But it is unacceptable, no matter where you are when you are dealing with the live of another. Please adjust your attitude and realize ONE DAY THIS COULD BE YOU,as miserable as you seem to be right now... May i respectfully say, it wont get much better if you dont do your job. You help yourself when you help others.

He is a master of his ENT craft. Highly knowledgeable and just as caring. Most physicians we've encountered don't review a patient's information, until the actual visit. Dr. Rafii was beyond well prepared. The office is very well run. Thanks, Practice Manager, Brandon. If you need ENT attention and/or value your vocal health, no reason to go elsewhere.

All the other doctors were booked out two weeks and had layers upon layers of bureaucracy, but Dr. Raffi's practice is "concierge" and made an appointment for me at the end of his day so I ran to Beverly Hills. His appointment cost was only 25 dollars more than my local doctors and I didn't have to wait. After several vocal tests and inspection, found I hadn't lost my voice but had a "lesion" on my vocal cord! He stuck all the cameras and the scopes all around my throat and through my nose and everything until I saw a freaking PICTURE of this thing in the screen. Soon we scheduled the surgery, and I am recovering as we speak (no pun intended). His staff is pretty cool and very accommodating, and Brandon, his scheduler is pretty cool and always dresses nice. The nurses are kind and prompt as well. I had a question once and tried to call outside operating hours and Dr. Raffi even called me on his personal cell phone promptly afterwards. I don't think one can expect much better than this...

He goes through the motions of doing procedures so that he can "upcharge" insurance companies…read more This affects your medical records by documenting conditions that you NEVER HAD. He turned a $200 appointment just for a basic checkup (for one initial bout of vertigo) into a high insurance cost surgical appointment by scraping out a 7mm tiny, paper thin piece of wax in one ear in under 20 seconds and calling it a "removal of soft tissue growth in ear canal" and then, if that weren't enough, he went into the other ear with a tweezer saying there is "a little hair" in here and then fumbling the tweezer when I asked to see it, dropping the invisible hair that it supposedly held. That "little hair" was charged to insurance as "removal of FOREIGN BODY in ear"!!! He did this while I was in his chair without any explanation and just said "stay still". Did he take advantage of me because, as a long time patient, he knew I trusted him and that I had excellent 100% coverage insurance? Who knows? Many people do not pay attention to their insurance notifications, so he likely gets away with it. While I am well aware that many doctors are struggling with cutbacks in insurance payments, it is not fair to the patient to UPCHARGE/UPCODE insurance companies while permanently ALTERING A PATIENT'S PERSONAL MEDICAL RECORDS IN THE PROCESS!! In order to justify the SURGICAL charges to my insurance, he manufactured a RARE ear condition which I DO NOT HAVE and have NEVER HAD to explain the "growth" he supposedly removed from my ear canal. (No cutting, no blood and no stitches, just a 20 second scrape I didn't even feel) Then, he altered his chart notes to reflect his findings. If you go to this doctor, ask him to tell you what he is doing and why, BEFORE he does anything and read your insurance notifications as soon as they come in! You don't want your medical records to reflect ear surgeries that you didn't need and never had!!

So after 3 Different Urgent Care doctors and an ENT in Santa Barbara were unable to remedy my ear infection that had been lingering for 29 days, I asked some friends who they recommended. In all three cases, these friends effusively recommended Dr. Schnitman. Not only did he personally call back after I left a message, but he was able to see me that same morning due to a cancellation. If that wasn't enough, he spent the better part of 2 hours trying to remedy and assess my malady in the most caring and compassionate way possible. The cost itself was not my main issue. My issue is that only after I had paid the full amount and completed my final visit with the doctor, I was told that I supposedly owed an additional $1,600 because the office and doctor "did not get paid for the procedure." This additional charge was never clearly disclosed or brought to my attention beforehand. Receiving an unexpected bill of $1,600 after paying more than $10,000--and after the procedure and final appointment were completed--was completely unacceptable. I found the situation outrageous, misleading, and extremely unprofessional. Patients deserve complete transparency regarding all charges before agreeing to and paying for a medical procedure. Based on this billing experience, I have lost trust in this office and would not return or recommend it to anyone considering a procedure.
