We didn't want photography all day, so we booked her for a few hours. She met us at three different locations around town for our first look, the family photos, and the wedding itself, and she even drove me and my fiance to our wedding because we forgot to plan our ride from photos to the venue. I met her in advance of the wedding so she could scope the venue, and I could get to know her some. She's incredibly friendly and very professional. The photos are beautiful, and we're happy with the result!

Unfortunately, the results were deeply disappointing due to a severe lack of composition, missed key shots, and poor communication on the day of the event. Lack of Basic Direction & Composition: * Failed to provide basic posing guidance: didn't reposition arms in family shots, didn't ask us to move hair out of faces, and failed to point out unbuttoned shirts, dark sunglasses, or glasses hanging from shirts. * Group photos were poorly framed, including failing to center groups in the gazebo. * While candid shots are fine, they were not backed up with properly composed formal pictures. A disproportionate number of photos were taken of the backs of people's heads. Misdirected Focus & Missed Key Events: * Prioritized excessive photos of details and staff--taking multiple pictures of cookies (where one of the tables would have sufficed), endless shots of the dress, and numerous individual portraits of event staff--while missing actual wedding guests and key moments. * Promised to take group and table photos, but failed to capture even a single picture of each table. Included multiple photos of certain speakers while completely omitting others, despite having ample time to move to the front of the gathering. * Missed the dance entirely, claiming there wasn't time--even though we specifically delayed starting the dance so he could get into position. * Failed to capture guests during downtime, claiming he "didn't want to interrupt people eating," yet took no initiative during open moments. Lack of Accountability: When brought to S.Y.E. Photography's attention, there was a complete lack of accountability or willingness to provide a fair resolution. You only get one chance to capture your wedding day, and hiring S.Y.E. Photography was a major regret. Save yourself the frustration and hire a true professional.

Context: Our event had primarily Korean/Japanese/Chinese guests and I spent an hour or two of my…read morewedding evening crying due to Bewitched's unprofessionalism. During our consultation, Jordana spoke rudely and unprofessionally about one of our other vendors, which I know at least one other couple experienced. They had the foresight to go with another bartender. She was stubborn and passive-aggressive at times during our consultations and was upset about having to compromise with our caterer for space at our venue after we had some changes in plans. She also tracked every minute she spent on our project to charge us for at the end, which made me uncomfortable asking her to make adjustments as needed. Jordana confronted my sister at our events - once for not reusing her recyclable cup and again for complaining about her to the owners of the venue, and several of our guests complained to me after our welcome party that Jordana had been over-friendly and flirty with them. I know that bartenders put their licenses on the line if they over-serve, so to me it seemed it was a lack of experience and skill that led to the Bewitched team serving our white guests until they were drunk and some Asian guests were cut off while they were still completely sober. The team also did not know how to read the room as they were out on the dance floor and singing karaoke despite tension with me and some of our guests. I'll note that the drinks they made for us were superb, but were batched by Island Elixirs who they contract, not by Bewitched. I also found it extremely off-putting that I paid a 20% gratuity in advance and they still put out a tip jar. Overall I would not recommend Bewitched to anyone I know. I know few services will ever be completely perfect, but there was just too much to overlook. Two stars because they treated some of our guests well.

This is not even a comprehensive list -- they just kept doing absolutely amazing and special things for us, without us asking for any of it. I don't even know where to start with Misha. I found her searching for wedding locations online…read more The pictures I found were gorgeous and had a fresh, ethereal quality to them. I just thought - let's get this photographer, she is GOOD. I loved everything about the way the process went. Misha has obvious talent and experience. She created a special, smaller package for us as our wedding was essentially an elopement. Photographs were of premium importance and so we did not cheap out here. She was flexible and showed up early and even stayed a little longer than expected. Misha is professional and organized - her contracts had information which explained some little details to think about in advance were greatly appreciated (it would have never in 1M years occurred to me to buy a decorative hanger for my dress shots - but an ugly hanger would have ruined the photos! Genius!). She also tacked on an early morning session for an additional fee - it was local to Bellingham and she just swung by and snapped several photos at Honey Salon. I really appreciated her wonderful personality. I am a bit on the more quiet side (not super keen on the idea of being the center of attention for hours on end) and easily overwhelmed by huge or loud personalities. She is lovely and gentle and natural with her directions and I never felt like I was under a magnifying glass (like I thought I might feel after being photographed for several hours). She makes it easy. She is the opposite of the "cheerleader," overly enthusiastic type in a wonderful way - for some reason this is the image I had in my head of what a wedding photographer might be like. She was climbing around, deftly swapping lenses, and hidden away in the background getting excellent natural, impromptu shots the whole time she was working. She has a great knowledge of Lummi Island and took us to a few amazing little spots on the water for additional unique and incredible photos. She was directing me before and during the ceremony to ensure she got all of the shots she envisioned. I was so thankful because I didn't want to have to worry about any of this in those moments and we had no rehearsal. She had scouted out exactly where I should stand so my fiancé didn't see me before she was ready to get the shots of us seeing each other for the first time. I wanted to rely solely on the photographer and I knew I could trust Misha once I met her that morning - she exudes style, class, intelligence, and experience and is worth every. single. penny. I felt nervous and somewhat awkward while taking the photos (I am not a natural model) and I was concerned it would come across in the photos. Sitting down to do the slide show with a bottle of champagne with my new husband for the first time, we were just blown away. She made the two of us slightly awkward people look like models - we rated a solid half of the photos 5/5 stars because they were INCREDIBLE. We rated another 1/4 of the photos 3/5 stars meaning they belonged in our album. Michèle knows how to get the good shots and she knows how to handle and direct the people in them effortlessly to this end without disrupting any of the natural flow of things. Her work is beautiful and we will have it to cherish for the rest of our lives and to share proudly with our family and friends. I would give her 10/5 starts if I could. She MADE the experience for us and the memories for our future. Worth her weight in gold.
