Keith and Team were presented with an impossible challenge, and rose to it. Late the week of 1/20…read moremy son, the Marine, lost his great grandmother. By serendipity, he was on home on leave during her passing, and agreed, when asked, by his grandfather, the Airforce Vet, to cancel his plans, drive 8 hours, and be present and uniformed at the funeral. Great Grandma married an Army Air Corpsman after a whirlwind romance in 1942. She would have been quite impressed by the uniform. After all, she kept the last one over 50 years. In packing on Sunday night for a Tuesday morning funeral, our Marine became aware that his SIZE 14 patent leather shoes had not made the trip with his blues. Because Grandpa was so appreciative of his presence, that he assigned him pall bearer duties, ONLY the dress blues were appropriate for the event. I began first thing Monday morning calling any store in the KC area that had a sliver of a chance of fixing this problem in 24 hours or less. Keith and his staff answered their phone - no phone tree. They knew their inventory, their rental and sales abilities, and they jumped into action. When I arrived at 0930 the next morning, they had a plan A, a Plan B, and epic customer service and attention. I have blanked out the Marine's face as it was taken after the funeral. After fulfilling his duties at Mt Washington Cemetery, uphill, during a week with a rather lot of moisture, his shoes are no longer in regs... but they certainly completed the mission.

This is a cute little boutique in the Crossroads…read more I like to visit for their knick knacks, which include cards, prints, some cups and shotglasses, etc.... Many of the pieces have funny or profound sayings on them that can give you a chuckle. Some of them they even print in house. The stock ebbs and flows, which is kind of nice since you can find some things that are a little unique. There's a nice a nice little assortment of KC Pride tshirts and other clothing options that you can browse through as well.

They've been selling in boutiques around town such as The Bunker, Westside Storey and MASH Handmade. Good news! They're going big time and have opened up their own retail space on Westport Road! The corner storefront is pretty large, and right now I'd say at least 75% of the space is dedicated to production. There are a ton of windows and thus natural light, and it's a clean and airy space that is a pleasure to be in. The merchandise is rather limited but well curated, and a number of other local brands are represented. Off the top of my head I can recall seeing products from local businesses Owl + Mouse, Sandlot Goods and Vintage Edison. This is, of course in addition to a full line of Normal Human's t-shirts for man, woman and child. They're brand new, in fact I don't think they even had a sign when I visited. As they navigate from wholesale to retail, I look forward to seeing what they come up with. I highly suggest a visit to Normal Human.

So I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but decided to write this one as I wish someone saved me…read morefrom this company. MISLEADING, ATTROCIOUS customer service and inconsistent quality! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! My introduction to T4T was several years ago at the Buckhead WFM. They heavily market their clothes for sustainability with recycled plastics into clothes. Who doesn't want to make mother earth a better place?? Clothes I bought were basic wear (in a good way) and felt softer than most other apparel. I've worn them to workout and generally felt positive about them. So during this Covid-19 summer, I came across their online sale and decided to order several workout wear. I knew what my size was based on prior purchases from WFM. I picked out some pants and a tank for running but had product questions because their site is vague on specifications like inseam, fabric composition and product details (pockets, compression...). They do post detail of the posing model's height and the clothing size. Umm since most of us aren't' built like their models, the references are not helpful. There were very limited reviews..1-3 posts. T4T aggressively control their product reviews (I found out only after my online purchase), so they really are not trustworthy. I called their posted phone number but only got a voicemail, but NO ONE responded to my message in several days. So I tried their eform on their site a couple of times and finally someone responded that helped me decide. Found it odd that they don't (wo)man the phone but I thought perhaps it was a Covid-19 hiccup. I ordered and received my workout gear in about a week. So far not too bad. Unfortunately, the clothes I received are made with inconsistent quality and sizing and are defective! I ordered 3 pairs of pants in one size. But, they all vary in size a lot... I ordered the same design running pants in 2 different colors and the sizing differs even though they are both the same specified size and material. Another pair of running pants I ordered can't be run in because they are much bigger and pocket zippers really dig in. The tank is ill fitting as the cut is too high to wear for running. Yup, the fit is not at all like the one posted online. DISAPPOINTING!! Their sales are final with NO refunds / returns...$$ wasted. I don't even feel good about money going to a good cause because I doubt if any of it goes to sustainability. Threads 4 Thought is NOT trustworthy :-(. DISGUSTED!! T4T shipped from CA but their HQ is posted in NYC. Yet this Yelp post is located in Kansas City, MO. Go figure. In hind sight, there is a reason why T4T's website is vague and lack customer reviews and don't answer phone calls. They are NOT ethical! They produce INconsistent quality and sizes. With so many variances, they are selling POORLY MADE clothes UNDER THE VEIL of sustainability. They don't post customer reviews as I suspect most are disappointments. I submitted my reviews (on their site) to include product details to help other potential customers but they were never posted! But I did receive 20% off for future purchases so T4T received my reviews. Umm, NO I won't be buying their clothes ever again! Unfortunately, T4T doesn't sell quality clothes like the ones I bought several years ago from WFM. They now sell POOR quality DEFECTIVE clothes! If that's what they want to continue to sell, then be honest about it and STOP MISLEADING AND CHEATING YOUR CUSTOMERS!! If you want to support companies that truly support positive environmental changes, this company is NOT it. AVOID!

I have ordered from this company before and was content with product and Customer Service. Not this…read moretime and this fired me up so much I will never order from them again and encourage you not to order from them either. I bought shorts that has a matching sweatshirt. The shorts retailed at $78 and were on final sale for $38. Seemed fair until I got the shorts. They dont have a draw strap, the elastic is weak and unsupportive and there is no way they will stay up on any medium size body (medium size shorts). The website said they are designed for a "perfect fit" - I bought into that deception and the owner expressed zero remorse. I spoke with one of the owners and told him they sold me a product that is defective by design and I cannot wear them, nobody in fact can wear them without them falling off. He told me too bad, cannot take the return they were a final sale. That was from one of the owners. He did not seem to value me as a repeat customer (I have spent literally many hundreds of dollars on their clothes over the years) enough to take these back. I told him what would happen if he kept intent on holding me to the final sale of a defective product by design (one no medium size body can wear without them falling to the floor) - I would report this to the public and never buy again. He did not seem to care one iota. Telling me it was a final sale was one thing but to sell a product defective by design where the defect is concealed in the pictures is another. He even seemed to be aware these shorts are flawed and virtually unwearable. You cannot see in any of the 5 pictures on their website the waist of these shorts as they are covered up by a sweatshirt. The elastic around the waist is also weak no way will they hold up on anyone without falling off. So in the end, while some of their products are nice enough these shorts are not only defective but they sold them as defective while concealing the defect in the online pictures. He stuck with the Final Sale (as one of the owner's exceptions can always be made). He could have taken them back but did not further insulting me by telling me he will report this to his design team. Give me a break, he is one of the owners and is responsible for a defective design. As a owner he is partly responsible for hiding the defect on the website by covering up the defect with the matching sweatshirt. Never again Thread4Thought owners, I told you I would post a negative review if you would not take these back - you cannot treat people like this and totally get away with it without accountability in the online review reporting world. It's not the money people reading this, its principle and a thing lacking in today's world - integrity/honor. I also posted this for everyone else who bought these shorts that suffered the same fate I did. For the record, this the only negative review I have ever posted. I did not even have a yelp account but for this I was so upset I created one. If this taught me anything, never accept a Final Sale - there is probably something wrong with the product you wont find out about till you receive it. I trusted this company, my bad.
