Steve told me my piece of jewelry was not worth much as it has more sentimental value to me than others and it was really only worth the weight of the gold. So, he offered me $585 for it and I said I didn't want to sell it. After I left the store and was driving (about 10 minutes later) he called me on my cell phone and said he had made some kind of "paper error" and offered $675 for it and I said thanks but no thanks. Out of curiosity, I put it on eBay and got $6,000 for it in 1 week (@ $6,400 with the tax), LOL! So I paid $35 for 15 minutes of his time to tell me my jewelry was worth 10% of it's actual worth? Plus, I wasted 2 hours of my time to travel to the location and meet with the 'expert'. Wow! No, I obviously cannot recommend this company's services and I'm trying to be polite, here. read more

I needed appraisals for my jewelry for our new insurance company and searched for the best company that offered authentic, insurance-approved appraisals. I found Gemcorp and am SO PLEASED with the work. I called for information, getting price and scheduling, then I made the appointment. Steve cleaned my jewelry (making it all beautiful!) then spent time, measuring, photographing, and assessing. I saw that he was finished actually looking at my six pieces of jewelry, so I asked if he needed me since I knew it would take a week or so to get the email PDFs and the printed/mailed appraisals. He did not, so I got back on the road up I75 before traffic got terrible. A little over a week later, I received a VERY THOROUGH email/PDF document, and then the printed appraisals arrived in the mail. Despite that, he still gave us a complimentary ring cleaning, offered up several helpful tips for keeping our ring in tip-top shape, and told us the GIA number engraved on the diamond so we could verify its authenticity. Real deal folks. Do NOT take your jewelry to a mall or brick and mortar store. At worst, they will lie. At best, they will tell you what you want to hear and give you an appraisal or valuation which will *not* satisfy a judge, the IRS, or your insurance company. Having done business with Mr. Turner twice, I have been pleased with his professionalism, knowledge and equipment. He knows the retailers, buyers, and the cutting shops in this region. Excellent service! I had a lot of jewelry that needed to be sorted for estate purposes. We thought every item needed an appraisal but he explained that some pieces were worth less than the cost of the appraisal. So he recommended a couple of ways to determine value and saved the estate at least $1,500 (if not more). He was patient and sorted through the genuine items versus synthetic.
