If a place gives you the runaround, you know they're hustling you. This place told me right away the price per pennyweight. What the price of gold was that day, per pennyweight. Tested (with my permission) my gold, showed me it passed the 22kt test. Gave me what they told me when I came back a couple hours later after going to 2 other places. Retested it with the machine they have and paid me out. Now 1 place matched there price in fairness, but that's only after I had to prove I knew what was talking about. I set an appointment to meet Lisa (Store Manager) and Scott (Gemologist). I was very impressed with Scott's presentation of the diamonds that he could offer based on my price range. Not only was I able to get the diamond I wanted, but the setting my fiancee absolutely loved was on Blue Nile (and a special order). The setting on Blue Nile was literally three times what The Gold Standard would offer for the same exact design, making me ecstatic to save that much money! I did upgrade from white gold to platinum, which was reasonably more, but they were able to craft the ring that was wanted. They offer the same guarantee of polishing and adjustments as Blue Nile, so there is literally no difference, except that I saved money on the setting (and can directly drive here if I ever need to send back for a polish/adjustment).
