My 2 year old son first saw Dr. Geller at Northwest Medical Center where he was hospitalized for severe tonsillitis. He was quick but professional and suggested a follow up appointment to see what his tonsils looked like when they weren't so infected. Like any anxious mother I googled Dr. Geller and became quite concerned after reading so many negative reviews. However, I kept my scheduled appointment after our son's primary pediatrician said such great things about Dr. Geller. Well, we just left his office and I must say, I am very pleased with the whole visit. The office staff was helpful when there was confusion about our referral and made sure the issue was resolved. We waited less than 10 minutes to see Dr. Geller and I was happy to see he even remembered our son. He was thorough in describing the medications my son was on and how they effected his tonsils and such. He was patient when my toddler threw a fit during the exam and made sure the whole process was quick as possible. I never felt rushed or ignored-Dr. Geller sat with us and explained everything clearly and was happy to answer any questions. And yes, some of the tools he uses were out dated, but they seem to work just fine so I didn't take any stars off for that. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Geller and if my son were to have issues again he will be my go to doctor. read more

I agree with Don A. from Fort Lauderdale. This guy needs to hang up his otoscope! In retrospect, our first clue should've been that we were able to get an appointment within a few days of calling... Our experience started with the receptionist/medical assistant thrusting a clipboard at us with forms to fill out, and immediately requesting our copay, (copay # 1), without so much as a greeting. When we were done filling out the forms, she proceeded to escort us to the "examination" room. (BTW, she appeared to be closing in on 80 and seemed dazed and confused.) When we walked into the "examination" room, I thought we were being punked. Talk about retro! It looked more like a torture chamber than anything else. Mom was shaking in her boots! And then the doctor walked in... OMG! This guy is 85 years old if he's a day! And he's a little bit wobbly. All he did was look into mom's ears and say there was nothing he could do for her without seeing the results from the hearing test we did a few days prior. Why didn't the receptionist tell us this when we called to make the appointment??? So, we had to go back a second time (copay # 2.) Same experience with the receptionist the second time around... She had a blank stare and requested our copay before we even had a chance to sit down. Then back to the torture chamber... After looking at the results from the hearing test, Dr. Stephen Geller said mom has severe healing loss. Really? We already knew that! Then again, he said there is nothing he could do for her, but if she's having vertigo, she needs to take the anti-dizziness medication regularly. Ah, we already knew that too! So now, mom will need to go to another ENT, (copay # 3), before she can be referred for a second opinion, (copay # 4), because her primary doctor will not consider Dr. Geller's opinion as a first opinion. He says many of his patients have complained about Dr. Geller's incompetence because he has diagnosed them as having nothing wrong at all, when they are clearing have serious issues. My advice... For almost a year I've been suffering with excruciating pain every few weeks from a blocked salivary gland. My primary care physician sent me to this doctor. He was so incompetent, his advice was to simply drink more water and suck on sour lemon drops. I saw him three times. He never even looked in my mouth or ordered a test of any kind. Finally I asked my primary physician for a referral to a different ENT. Today I saw a different ENT, Dr Curtis Johnson. He examined me and immediately determined that my gland was being blocked by a huge stone. His office worked right then and there with my insurance carrier so he could remove the stone today. After he finished the procedure he showed me TWO stones that had been blocking the secretion of saliva and causing the horrible pain. He said these stones were the largest he had ever seen and had been developing for probably a year. All of these painful incidents and infections should have been treated by this doctor who I'd seen four times in the last year. And his nurse/receptionist was probably the rudest I've ever encountered. You are wasting your time and money if you seeing Dr Geller. read more

I had cleaned my ears with a q tip , and couldn't hardly hear out of one of my ears. Had this happen a few times before. My regular ent doctor was not available the next day. I googled drs in area and came up with dr Geller. I came in that Friday. The examining room and equipment looked like it was from the 60s.Dr Geller entered the room looking very tired and aged . He had me sit on a tiny swivel chair with no back. Very surprised.He then put on this huge magnifying glass around his head like from the Young Frankenstein movies, not trying to be funny.He looked inside my ear and said there was no wax buildup, but blood. He gave me medicated perscripted ear drops that I had filled. My wife and I picked up the drops at Walgreens. I asked her to put a drop in my ear. 2 minutes later , I had this tremendous pain in my ear. Unbearable. I called up pharmacist, explaining problem,She told me it shouldn't affect me that way. I called Dr Geller, and also said same thing. He said take Tylenol.i canceled my follow up appointment with him and saw my regular Ent. Upon examination, he told me that dr Geller punctured my ear drum but had mostly healed. Most drops are acidic he said and when I Out the drop in, it went through the small hole causing the tremendous pain. The problem was a large build up of wax which he sucked out with modern equipment, not a metal probe as what Geller used. Stay away. While nice guy. Spent copay of $45 Friday of memorial day weekend just to be told what I already knew, but he wrote a Rx for medication that did not come in the milligrams he prescribed. Walgreens tried calling office but they must have left early. Spent 5 days without the needed medication for dizziness. Called first thing Tuesday morning. He finally called me back TWO days later just to tell me that medication was also available over the counter! Why he didn't mention this from the start I have no idea! Had to go to another ENT that Wednesday to get the much needed medication. Spent $90 in one week for copays due to his incompetence . Was told he never refunds money. Nice guy but I think is time to retire. Still uses mirror around and head and Fred Flintstone instruments. Spent 5 days in needless discomfort, completely ruined my long weekend with out of town guests. To me if you mess up as he did, own up to it. read more
