It was a damp wet day so it was a perfect day for great ice cream in this lovely parlour.
As we walked in the door it was the wow factor. There was over 40 flavour varieties to choose from so what to choose.
When I say over 40 that's when I stopped counting; if someone said 60 I wouldn't be surprised. And it was ice cream - no coffee, no other food. Ice cream in cornettos, cartons, tubs, on sticks. Ice cream period.
There were four servers behind the counter and while welcoming, smiling and friendly, none were English speaking so finger pointing worker perfectly. Most of the seats were already taken by satisfied customers slurping on their creamy treats. It was genteel subdued.
There were good humoured lengthy conversations between staff and customers so it's obvious there's a great community cohesion here and honestly the whole time we were there there was no down time; old, young, folk in wheelchairs.
My wife and I opted for our differing choices on cornettos (we never opt for cartons when there's delicious crispy biscuity cones to chomp) with her one scoop and me two.
We sat at the last available table and both agreed the ice creams were delectable so much so we went at least once a day. The price for two scoops in a cornetto is £2.5. read more
