So much for a celebratory spa day date. Upon arriving, we found parking to be a bit of a challenge, and even locating the building was difficult as the business is located in a small yet charming little house. I must say that the building had tons of potential curb appeal, but sadly was in disarray and had a tiny almost non visible sign. Our appointment was during the holidays, so the cozy little house and front yard could have really been decorated and made to look like the owners of the spa really cared about the business and the complete overall customer experience. Sadly, though, the business looked run down and neglected, not a good first impression. Once entering the spa, it was a bit cluttered, but everyone was extremely nice, professional, and accommodating. Our massages were wonderful, although due to covid, we were in separate rooms and had to wear masks. Neither of which supported our original plans of a relaxing spa date. However, we both enjoyed our massages. The room I was in was beautiful, and the total environment was very relaxing for all the senses. My massage was wonderful, the masseuse was very knowledgeable and respectful. To sum things up, my husband and I loved the people and the service they provided. However, a lot was lost on appearance and branding. The employees seemed to want to make this appointment a "total experience" but forgot that that begins before you ever enter the building and before the massage ever begins.

I am chatty during my sessions but I always go to my girl and we have a good time. Today during my husband's massage his massage therapist spent the majority of the appointment talking to him. That wouldn't have been a huge deal and he didn't mind the conversation but she stopped massaging while she talked. He got there ten minutes early for a 5 o'clock hour long massage and got taken back a few minutes early. He called me about the experience at 5:50. The first thing he did was apologize to me because he felt bad that my membership paid for his experience. We understand the included ten minutes of consultation time means 50 min of massage but ending the appointment ten minutes early doesn't make sense. He left feeling like he got maybe 15-20 minutes of actual massage time. She stopped at multiple points during his session and remained resting on one point of his body while telling her stories. His words exactly were "she would massage and then start talking and stop massaging, removing her hands" We usually love Massage Envy but using a month's worth of credits ($80) and paying a transfer fee ($10) for 15-20 min worth of massage was really disappointing. My husband is non confrontational and would never typically complain but he is a hardworking man who deserved a nice hour long massage.

The building was nice and the atmosphere was nice. However, I have had over 20 massages in my life and this one ranks near the bottom. Some issues were not Ariel's fault. I would make a suggestion for the owner that the table with the belly cut out was not comfortable. It squished my breasts, that are very sensitive and uncomfortable due to being pregnant. The sheet that covered the belly cut out was very tight and it felt like I was laying directly on my baby. I could not get comfortable. I then was laying flat on my back for some of it, which felt uncomfy too. Wish they had a way to prop slightly. My massage felt more like a deep tissue massage. I asked her to lighten up more than 5-6 times. She always would but would then go right back to doing it so hard. I was even wincing and pulling away at points and she wasn't picking up on it. I left feeling more beat up than anything. She also spent over an hour on just my back and was doing the same repetitive motion on the same spot. It hurt. At a certain point with her, not picking up on my keys and not lighting up after I said it was too hard several times, I just gave up and just felt uncomfortable. Like I said, she was sweet and would listen well but the massage was just not good.
