I've used Geek Hero numerous times and have never been disappointed From a broken glass on my cell phone, to help with installing a receiver for my TV, to cleaning up my computer and making it like new They are so pleasant to work with and recognize I am not exactly a computer genius. They never make me feel embarrassed about my lack of knowledge and are always patient with me. this week, my computer kept freezing every time I opened it up. I took it in, did a full diagnostics on it and they were able to determine the problem and fix it for me. No charge. They said it was a simple fix, even though they had spent man hours on testing out my systems, they would not charge me for this. Now, they have always been reasonably priced as far as I am concerned, but this one just blew me away. This place took my boyfriend's phone in August to get fixed. When we returned to get the phone, the camera didn't work AT ALL. The phone was flashing pink and green lines everytime he turned it on, doing split screen motions when he tried to switch apps, and would randomly shut off on him. We came back because who wants to pay almost $300 for a phone that doesn't work properly. He said give him a week with the phone because "it was the most complex phone he ever had to TRY and fix" and gave my boyfriend a replacement phone. The replacement phone also had screen issues and eventually went black screened and when given back his original phone the camera was fixed but the screen had multiple lines all over the screen and the back was broken. Since septem we have brung this phone up here 4 or 5 times to get the correct service and sol and have been met with complete bullshit each time. Now they are refusing to do anything about the screen period and won't refund his money so he can take it somewhere they know what they're doing. read more

What a great little computer shop! Geek Hero fixed my laptop a couple months ago. All was well til Microsoft automatically inserted a password to log into the system. I brought it in for help and Geek Hero fixed it for free!! Refused to take money even though it's normally $60 to retrieve lost passwords. I couldn't be more pleased. I went there to get my laptop fixed. They took everything apart and attempted to put it back together again. They didn't properly assemble one side. It wasn't a huge deal but over a couple months it started coming off so I went back to them and told them the problem. Their solution? To poorly replace a portion of the motherboard by got gluing it. Then they tried to get me to pay $60 for their attempted work because I wasn't in their system. I guess they delete their customer information every 6months?. So today the problem has returned again. Needless to say I won't be coming here again and will go somewhere else for laptop repairs. Lastly be prepared to call them because they won't call you when your appliance is ready. read more

I went here to get my iPad screen fixed. It was cracked so I just needed a replacement. The guy here wanted to smooth out the edges of my iPad since it looked like it was chipped badly but not bad enough to the point where I wanted them to smooth it out. Unfortunately, he smoothed it out without my permission and ended up breaking the touch sensory on the iPad. The screen would not fit anymore. Perfect. However, he did buy me a new iPad which I really appreciate and paid for since I felt bad he went out of his ways to purchase me a new one. I hope next time you just fix the screens and don't fix any unnecessary things that don't need to be fix. I wasn't gonna write a review since this happened about 4 months ago, but my cousin recently went here to get her iPhone 6 screen replaced and they also ended up messing up the touch sensory on her phone. I don't know who the previous negative reviews were about because there were no names mentioned. I dealt with Samir and his brother and I'm sorry but his name escapes me now. Both of them were very professional and knowledgable. My first visit was due to a cracked screen on my iPhone which was fixed very fast, it took them about 15 min while I waited. I had it fixed before by another shop in the area and it took them almost an hour to do the same thing. While I waited Samir's brother showed me a few laptops, since I've been shopping around for one. They sell really nice refurbished computers and laptops there as well as batteries, cell phone covers and other electronics and parts. I also had them take care of my laptop on another visit, that I was having some issues with and they did a wonderful job with that as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

Avoid this place at all costs! Totally unethical. My family has taken 2-3 computers here before the most recent one without any issues. We always get the hard drive cleared for $50. They again quoted my wife $50 for the most recent computer. However now they want $150??? They told me on the phone you have a very nice computer with touch screen worth about $500. They have no paperwork that I signed for saying I agreed to this amount. I just assumed it would be the same costs as the last 3 computers we had taken in. So basically they have now stolen our pc. They have definitely lost a good customer and if you're smart and don't want your pc stolen avoid this place. My hope is our loss will help another family avoid a similar loss. read more

Dell Laptop had a broken charger input. Took to Geek Hero and they advised I needed to replace the mother board. When I got the Laptop home my Realtec sound was not working, would not charge and really slow. I took back to Geek Hero and advise they would look at it. Called to check status 7 days later and was advised it had not been looked at. Spoke to Owner and her advised someone would call me no later the 3 days. Did not call. I called 4 days later and was told the Mother board was out of warranty because it was in their store for more then 30 days. Promised to have either working or full warranty within a week. Never called. I called them and they advised can not fix would give me a full refund. Went to pick up today and was told I had to pay for Norton which I did not authorize. Spoke to owner on the phone and he was very rude. Long story short did not get full refund and now laptop will not even boot up WOULD NEVER TAKE ANYTHING TO THEM AGAIN read more

Don't use Office Depot (nobody would be around 'till Friday, it was Tuesday), don't use Staples (they could "fix" it for $300.00, but could do a longer fix for $450.00). Gave up and decided to try Geek Hero and listen to their story, by this time I wasn't confident of anything. They actually opened the computer, something Staples didn't do. Checked it out, quoted a GREAT price. Left it for the day and picked it up the next day. They fixed the computer and also hooked up my printer. I left a very happy customer. I took my samsung tablet to get repaired; It was not charging. After 2 weeks of waiting and calling, I finally got an answer that they would have to take it to a samsung repair shop. After another week at samsung, he finally got an answer that the motherboard would have to be replaced (thats a whole other topic- motherboard goes out after a couple years of VERY light use- SERIOUSLY). The guy from Geek Hero was able to find a replacement of amazon for a reasonable price, and get it repaired. But then, to top it off, when I picked it up they had lost the charger that I brought in with it. My gosh man!! read more

I will never go back to this store again. I took my phone in to repair a broken screen and when I received the phone back I pressed a key and the screen developed a stress crack from the screen not being installed flush. I returned it to the store the very same day and they implied I dropped it when it clearly was a stress crack. The bow in the screen was blatantly obvious to the eye. I had to pay a second time for the screen to be replaced so I wouldn't be out of a phone. The screen cracked again a few weeks later due to the same improper installation. I took the phone to a different area store and the tech pulled the phone apart in front of me and showed me where the screws were missing causing the cracks. Not only were screws missing but there was also a piece of plastic that is to be taken off during install that was left on causing the sensitivity to be off. At the end of the day it cost me the price of 3 screen changes to finally get the phone fixed properly. They refused to offer any kind of refund even after it was proven to be inadequate installation. Luckily another tech store in watauga fixed it CORRECTLY and I'm writing this review using the phone. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A BUSINESS! read more
