Been coming here for years, an absolute huge selection of plants. Great staff, and many hard to find plants

BEWARE their insurance. They charge 15% for a 1 year "guarantee", but find every excuse not to honor it. Dealing with Debbie and Kary was the most nasty customer service process we have ever dealt with. They said they went above and beyond to help after hanging up on us, but later only offered absolutely ridiculous alternatives to resolve this problem with all of the things they weren't going to do. We suggest that they write an honest guarantee to add to their paperwork. read more

The have a gigantic stock; the load your purchase for you; they have excellent products and offer knowledge on the product if you desire; and you can get a wounderful donut and cup of coffee. Their prices are as good or better than the competition. read more

Great business, great service! We called 14 metro nurseries to find a bush we needed - none had any, with no plans to stock. After an intital phone call and a 90-minute drive, we arrived at Gee Farms to find 10 of the variety we needed + two other forms of the bush. Kary drove us to the section of the nursery we needed, and then drove us around the property to show the scope of their stock and services. Kary also informed us about Re-Tree.org, a tree removal and preservation service. This nursery is a great resource, and worth every minute of travel. Staff is welcoming and knowledgable - every home landscaper owes themselves a visit to Gee Farms! read more

We've bout many things from Gee Farms and never had a problem, However, They DO NOT stand behind their products if you do the planting yourself. So, in order to get any kind of guarantee, you must pay them to deliver and plant the bushes, trees etc, We bought 5 Mugo Pines and a total of 8 Daub Frosted Chinese Junipers at the end of April. I also purchased the starter fertilizer recommended by Gee Farms. Followed ALL the recommended planting instructions and yet one of my MUGO pines was showing signs of stress in just two months and now has completely died. I took the Mugo there today and though professional about it, it was Sorry About Your Luck. Nothing we can or are going to do because you planted it yourself. Past Nurseries I have dealt with in Ohio were always willing to work with the customer. Not Gee Farms! I drove a long way to get there and it was worth it. Hints: 1) use their downloadable price list / inventory PDF 2) do homework and get specific about (in writing) what you want ... because they might have dozens of different variations for a specific plant, 3) as soon as you get there, ask for a nursery staff person to help you find what's on your list and, if necessary, drive you there on a cart. You'll never find things by wandering around; it's too big. read more

I first used Gee Farms about 14 years ago for a project. My older brother who is a connoisseur of all things told me that Gary Gee might just be the best conifer nursery man is the US. At that time I had 5 dwarf conifers put in and they have been very happy and have thrived. Today I had 14 large conifers 38-55inch rootballs put in. Mel helped me choose them and she is knowledgable and understands plant greed and has a sense of humor. Coti, Gary Gee's grandson was in charge of the planting team. He was knowledgeable, and gentle with my plants. He could list off every plant I had on the semi as well as its rootball size. i told him what went where an he efficiently put them in with his team. I did not expect the planting guys to be experts and so gentle with my plants. They were. It is such a delight to work with such skilled professionals! thanks! read more

I've shopped here for years - love the staff, love the ambiance and love the great selection even tho it's a bit pricey - on the order of Ann Arbor prices! HowEVER, some of their plant material is pot bound and needs to be checked BEFORE purchasing. Pull a perspective plant out of the pot - if it's too pot bound, give it a pass. read more

Great place. They have a huge selection of stock and the staff know their plants. They will steer you away from a plant if it will not thrive where you intend to plant it. They're a little pricey but their end of season sales are great. I get a tree for Mother's Day every year from them, and every one of my beauties is healthy and thriving. read more

Awesome greenhouse, visited today with a friend, glad we had a lot of time as there was so much to see. Many things that I haven't seen else where. Great people very helpful, Melanie, was the person that helped us, she rocked! She showed us so many new trees that we didn't know existed, including a wheeping mulberry, that actually bears fruit, that we had to have. Also cookies freshly baked was a great too. Good material, good selection. The nursery people with knowledge (there are a few very knowledgable people there) might be in the mood to help you that day. It really depends on mood. Don't expect consistent service and professionalism. Imagine you are visiting some relatives who live out in the country, and, well, depending which cousin, or aunt, or grandpa you run into with your question you might get treated warmly and get good information and good service, or you might get that gruff ornery, person who really doesn't care as much about coming across professionally as giving you an earful about all the bad customers they've had that day, almost hinting to you that you better not be one of them... Like they couldn't wait until bridge next Thursday to complain, so they just chose you. Especially on the phone depending who answers, I've sometimes gotten friendly help, but quite a few other times gotten the vibe that I shouldn't be asking someone more than two questions before she became impatient and just wanted to end the phone call with me. It's a classic case of Michigan countryside customer service, which means customer service if and when they feel like it. That said, if you know what you're looking for and have time to look around, there is some great stuff to see there. And you might catch someone in a good mood with a helpful spirit- it has happened to me a couple times. To be fair, they are all hardworking in a difficult industry. Their prices are fair for the kind of material they have. It is not overpriced. There is a passion somewhere in the ranks, for selling interesting material. read more
