I had worked with Mike to get an estimate for new brake pads +rotors and new battery for my car, as…read moreI had been advised by the dealership to replace the pads and resurface the rotors. Knowing what I know, you don't resurface rotors, as you'll end up replacing them anyway. But it's Honda's way of making you pay twice for the same issue. Honda service had noted that my brake pads were at 4mm and needed to be replaced, soon. After shopping around, I circled back to Mike, as the impression I got from him early on was that he genuinely wanted to help me find the right solution without spending an asinine amount of money. He said I had options to get the best of everything, but it may not be needed for my daily driver CRV. I brought my car into the shop and that's when I got a call from Mike. I knew that this place is not out to hustle or deceit people. Mike told me that he could not, in good conscience, replace my brake pads and take my money. There were 7 mm, left on the pads and I could continue to use them for another 10 to 15K miles before I start considering to replace them. I will no longer bring my car to Honda for any servicing, as they're just crooks. These guys in Aamco of East Brunswick are here to earn your business and trust, not to swindle you out of something you don't need. While these guys are still under the Aamco umbrella, it's still owned and operated by a franchisee. And I'm happy to support this local business. Thank you guys for your honesty and speedy work!! See you in a few for my next oil change!!

They installed a new timing belt in my 2010 Honda Pilot, very expensive BTW almost 1,700 dollars but needed to trust someone to do the job, they were highly recommended by my neighbor who's been using them for several year, but so far no issue with that. but then i took the car back to them for some clanking and other noise, they examined it and told me it needed a rear motor mount, they quoted me 8 hundred plus dollars, I leave with the car i think it over I decided to get It done, 4or5 months later now its 9 hundred plus dollars, 2 days later I get call from the owner telling me it's a difficult job it could cost more, I say ok fine. Next day I get the car back, NO extra charge, I wondered, why? the next day I hear the same clanking noise and an annoying vibrating noise that got louder and louder. I call the boss i tell him that Im very dissatisfied with their work, he tells me to bring it back, I wait a whole day, the receptionist tells me the mechanic is off for few days come get the car. unbelievable! she asked if could bring back it 2 or 3 later I say ok. I take it back, this is the third time. next day I get a call, she tells me car is done. The annoying loud vibration is gone but the motor mount problem was still there. My guess is they put a defective motor mount and didn't correct the issue. My suggestion to this shop is, if you find the job to difficult for you to handle be honest with yourself and the customer so we can go to a shop that do the job. Almost 1000 dollars later, I'm looking for a shop that can handle this motor mount job correctly. I'm done with J&S. 3 times was not a charm.

Communication is horrible, Unprofessional and disrespectful. As the customer they placed the…read moreresponsibility on me to order the part needed to service my vehicle. Wanting to get my car fixed I used the information given to me by the employees to order the part and each time the part didn't fix. And I was told the parts didn't fix ONLY after I called them to find out the status on my repairs. 3 months tr they had me car. Terrible experience.

Their time management is poor; I…read moredropped my vehicle off one afternoon with an appointment and I was not given a diagnosis until nearly noon the next day. I was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following morning. The vehicle was not put back together until noon and once it was back together the problem was still happening, they tacked on additional parts and service. In total they had my vehicle for 3 full days. Their diagnosis was incorrect. I was quoted for an alternator and a battery to fix the issue, once the car was back together the issue persisted. I was then told I needed a new ignition coil, that was installed and I was told the vehicle was ready for pick up. Upon pick up the problem was still there. In total I was charged a tab of a few thousand dollars for the problem to persist. I took it upon myself to research into the issue, because these days no one has time or capital to waste on needless repairs. After several weeks and at least 2 opinions I was informed that the issue was unrelated to the alternator and battery and that it concerned the engine systems instead. I took the car back to this location to have them check it once more and this time their computers read the codes that they did not state in the original diagnostic, the same codes I had checked for on my own. I was then told it would cost another $500 to fix the issue. I declined, based off the experience so far because no results had been reached and I was still adding to the original bill. I also asked if I would still be responsible for the cost of the parts and labor that did not solve the problem and I was told " Well they would have become a problem eventually." Finally they gave a service that I was unaware of and that could have potentially damaged the vehicle further. I was not aware that an oil change was made on the car as it did not show anywhere on the receipt. While troubleshooting the problem on my own I found the oil had a burning smell to it and there was sludge build up in one of the plugs. I had to do an emergency flush of the motor and another oil change which again added to the bill and I have no way of knowing what was done in that regard because I have no record. Overall this has been a less than savory experience and I would not recommend this garage as a service provider.
