I visited the "Captain Tsubasa -- ONE WORLD ONE TEAM Art Exhibition 2026" at GCS Agency in San Francisco.
Per the exhibition website, Captain Tsubasa was created by Yōichi Takahashi (born July 28, 1960), a Japanese cartoonist and manga artist best known for his work on the Captain Tsubasa series.
The exhibition focuses on the theme "Through football, the world connects -- celebrating harmony and peace." It highlights how people of different nationalities, cultures, and values can come together through the sport of football.
According to the exhibition information, there were two admission options:
* Paid Entry (June 13-14): $20, including a limited-edition postcard
* Free Entry (June 15-21): Free admission with a reservation required
I found the exhibition very interesting. I occasionally read manga, and seeing the artwork displayed in a gallery setting was a completely different experience from reading it in a book.
I would recommend this exhibition to manga fans as well as anyone interested in Japanese art and culture. read more
