I see I'm not alone. The blonde woman that runs this place is exceptionally rude. I walked up with three packages that were pre-labeled, and just wanted to drop them off since I was in the area. This person was heading out to lunch and refused to simply take the packages and place them inside, forcing me to go to the Valmont Post Office, which I was not intending to do today. This is not only a waste of my time, but a waste of the half gallon of gas to get there and back. And I had a baby with me. Have you no soul?? This business has lost whatever design, gift or postal box business I might have given them in the future. As one small business owner to another, get your customer service in shape! read more

Rude indeed. I went in to drop off a FedEx package outside of their shop. Upon entering, I see several signs telling you never ever to enter the store on the wrong side (Yes, the words "never" and "ever" are on the sign). Then there are other various signs about how they don't want unattended children anywhere in their store, and lines on the floor telling you where to walk and not walk. Seems like a nice place right? I proceed to the counter (making sure to follow the signage). Since they do USPS and there is a FedEx drop box right outside of their store, I thought they might be affiliated with FedEx also, and was hoping to drop off a package since there is no drop off for several miles. No no. Silly me. I come in and ask to use a pen to fill out my slip. the older woman (I'm betting she owns the place) tells me "we don't do FedEx. We have nothing to with them. They just have a drop-off outside of our Store. They don't pay us at all and they definitely don't pay us for our pens." Wow. Nice lady. I feel bad for the younger girl who has to work with her. read more

Fantastic gift shop! Lovely people who work there! They will wrap your gifts and send them right out! It is also a post office, so a two in one stop. I love the merchandise and it is soo convenient. Free parking, Everyone wears masks. Immaculate shop with tons of goodies. My go to place in sending birthday/holiday gifts to realities afar as well as a hostess of gift here in town. 5 star! Avoid this place!!! Today was my second trip to this whimsical dump as it is the only Post Office for miles. The short, younger, female cashier was characteristically rude and pissy because I placed the Certified Mail sticker where she wanted to place her stamp. You would have thought I knocked over one of the displays full of overpriced crap in her store. Grow up and get out of the customer service or retail business. I don't expect over-the-top customer service in Post Offices, but this woman is SO SO rude that I would rather line up in the punishment that is the 55th & Valmont Post Office line before I ever step foot in this store again. The 'computers' (I think she meant Post Office service access) to mail out packages wasn't working, which happens, but the woman behind the counter made it out to be my fault for that happening. The last time I checked, you offer a service and if you can't offer that service, then that's YOUR fault, not mine. Wonderful Gunbarrel shop for quality cards, gifts, and US Postal counter. Customer service is fast, accurate, friendly and helpful. Wait line typically less than a couple minutes, often none. NOTE HOURS CAREFULLY !! Shop closes for lunch. USPS counter stops accepting mail around 4 pm and cannot hold mail overnight for the next day. Ample parking. This is a little gem, privately owned, and much, much preferred to a govt-operated post office. read more

This place amazes me, but not in a good way. There are normally two different people who work this store which includes a young girl who is nice, and a blonde lady who is not. I cannot tell you how many times I have mailed or dropped off a package, only to have the blonde lady mumble something under her breath. This week she muttered "this is getting ridiculous" when I made my request at the counter. I hope the owner of this store, be it the blonde lady or whoever, realizes that the Postal Service is losing money every year. And once the P.O. business dries up, there aren't enough grandmas in all of Gunbarrel who can buy the required amount of trinkets needed to keep the lights on at GCR. P.S. I have been going into this shop for years because of its convenience. However, the owner (her name is Georgia and has blond hair) has pushed me to the point of never stepping in their again. She is mean and nasty and should not be in a business where she has to interact with customers. The last time I was in there I asked a simple question and she started muttering under her breath and said, "This is just too much." Really? Answering a postal customer's question is too much for you? What does she think she is accomplishing by belittling a customer? And my question was not ignorant or stupid. She has no respect for the customers who support her business and the postal service. I have witnessed her for years behaving rudely toward her customers. She was so nasty to me last time that I felt compelled to write a review. Why the post office allows her to continue representing them is a mystery to me. The postal service is in trouble and having this woman treat customers like this is disgraceful. And when you go into the store there are signs and arrows everywhere of exactly where you can and can't walk. The signs are demeaning. You would think the general public is a bunch of morons that can't follow arrows. And she closes from 1-2, which is ridiculous because people go to the post office and check PO boxes on their lunch hours. And Georgia - if you are reading this - you are just plain mean! You should get out of a customer based business so you can stop torturing people. It's not for you. The next time I have a package to send I'm going to the main post office or better yet - UPS! The guy at the counter there is polite and helpful and will even help you take heavy packages out of your car. It's a much more pleasant experience and won't ruin your day! read more

This lady is clearly troubled, shes so rude and nasty, if you dont know something she gets real nasty, she threw my label at me because she couldnt help me , I have ran into her elsewhere and she was even worse in public. I wish I could give zero stars. I am not a fan of overly negative reviews so I've shied away from this review for some time. However, today was the last straw. I've refused to give this gift shop any business for the last year due to the insanely rude woman in the store. I've witnessed her yell at many customers, young and old. I've only utilized the post office portion. Today I had to drop a package I had already labeled and added priority postage to - so just required a drop off. She made me stand in line, which took about 17 minutes, then when it was my turn, told me she wasn't ready for me yet. She proceeded to clean up her work area and check something in the back. When she returned, she took my box and scanned it and said that was it. This literally took about 3 seconds. She clearly was "being in charge" by making me stand in line, and for what? Her rudeness is overwhelming. She is incredibly unprofessional. I'm not sure how she is allowed to be a federal post office but I will never go in again. As I was exiting, 2 people said they think she holds packages of those she thinks are rude customers. I certainly hope not. It must be terrible to be that miserable every day. I'm not sure why one would stay in business if it is that terrible. Please do not support this business behavior. I support shopping local, but this has got to stop. read more

(I wanted to rate this store a zero, but the lowest is a 1 star!) This is the WORST place. I consider myself a very patient and accommodating person, but every time I go here to mail a package, the guy at the counter is super rude and unfriendly. Like seriously, what is your problem?! I also think that they are overcharging for postage... A tiny little box that weighs less than a pound costs over $7? I don't think so! The store itself is dark and dingy and noticeable dirty, and the taped floor direction arrows and signs plastered everywhere are out of control and make me feel like I'm being yelled at. I will drive to the Valmont USPS store from now on. I will never again support these awful people with my business, and I'm going to figure out how to file a complaint with USPS, as this cannot be the kind of representation they expect. read more
