(2/5) Today I…read morepurchased a brand-new garbage disposal from Lowe's in North Naples for one of my customers. When I arrived at the job site and opened the box, I found old, dried food still inside the disposal. It was clearly a used item that had been returned and placed back on the shelf without being properly inspected. As a handyman, this meant I had to stop the job, pack everything back up, drive all the way to Lowe's, exchange the product, and then return to my customer's home. I lost approximately an hour of work because of a mistake that should never have happened. When I explained the situation to the service desk and asked if there was any way they could compensate me for the time I lost due to their error, one employee actually laughed and dismissed me with, "Have a nice day, sir." That response was far more disappointing than the original mistake. A manager eventually offered a 30% discount on a future purchase, which I appreciate, but it still doesn't change the fact that I lost valuable work time or that I was treated disrespectfully. Mistakes happen. Selling a returned item as new is one thing. Laughing at a customer who has been inconvenienced by your mistake is another. As someone who spends thousands of dollars each year on materials for my business, I expect better quality control and much better customer service. Going forward, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

I had a tight window of time since we needed to travel to Boston for medical reasons in 3 weeks. The staff in Naples were very polite and found a solution in a nice cabinet that could be turned around in 7-10 days. I gave the info to my contractor who gave it to the Fort Myers ProSource rather than Naples . Fort Myers sat on the project. They blew my time frame. I never even got pricing. I walked away very frustrated but I remembered how helpful the Naples staff was so I went back there . Everyone was very apologetic and promised to give me pricing by the following day. It's been weeks now and I never heard from anyone. My project has now expanded into a high end remodel of my house. ProSource missed out on this larger project . Also, I cannot recommend that anyone waste their time with this outfit.

That very day I noticed the end of the island top looked splotched. Payed little attention though, too many details to attend. Unfortunately those " splotches" did not go away and seemed to get a bit worse. The "middleman" came and took a look and declared that the quartz was defective. He'd have to get Stone Warehouse to take a look and address as that's where the purchase was made by my kitchen remodeling company. Crickets! This is a 9' plus island and well over 48" wide. The entire end of my lanai screen and railing had to be removed and a crane brought in to get it upstairs and in place. Payment was required in advance so I am literally at the mercy of people who either refuse to acknowledge the defect or refused to take the responsibility of checking the slab before it was cut. Either way I'm in a pickle and the kitchen remodeling company has long ago proven they deserve a 0 rating. I miss the days of responsible remodelers, responsible overseers and company owners who have both character and integrity. My crew has none of this!

This is not a big box store, when you go into the yard, you are expected to load your selection yourself, then drive through to get it weighed. They do have staff available who will load for you, and I definitely asked for assistance in loading the small boulders I selected. They supply shovels or you can bring your own. A cardboard box or contractor bags are good for smaller items, larger purchases can go in the trunk or in back of your truck. The price is reasonable and they have a great variety of materials. On my recent visit, I was looking for decorative gravel to go in the Zen garden I'm working on. They still have a great selection of various gravel in many different colors. Superior Stone is a good company to buy from, they are professional and offer quality products at a reasonable price. I'll be back for the next project.

I was pleased to find their prices were…read morethe same as before, $1,250 a ton for pebbles and $100 a ton for large sea shells. $1,250 a ton sounds expensive, but when you consider the bags at the home improvement store amount to $2,000 a ton it's a deal and there are no plastic bags going to the landfill. If you don't have a pickup to haul a half ton, you can come with five gallon buckets and fill them yourself. They even have shovels for you to use if you don't have your own.

So I walk in and pick out a slab of granite. The sales rep tells me that slab is the price of a new car. Well that established where my tastes were going. Looking at slab after slab of granite can be daunting. Mrs. K. wants what she wants but I must agree with her choice. Easy right? Nope we had this cool little dance where I would try and figure out what to say yes to. She would just not say I like this Paul. Soooo after two visits and much looking we have picked out two different slabs of granite for two different area's in the house. Did you know that granite comes in levels? 1 through 5 and then precocious. We wound up with what they called a mid level. On a scale of 1 to 5 how in the hell can I pick one in the middle? Anyway we pick out the stuff they then email the price to our contractor and then we get the price. On both my visits here the sales reps were so patient with Mrs. K and myself.
