On our last day in Naples, I was craving ice cream, and resigned to probably having a fruit sorbet, since I am vegan and that's usually what places have. Which, no hate, I love a good lemon sorbet, but I LOVE chocolate.
We came across a promising-looking spot by the water with tons of fruit ice creams. All of them had milk. Disappointed, I left, and resigned myself to no ice cream.
We wandered Chiaia, went to the grocery store to grab some stuff, and then headed back to our accommodation, but passed by Gay-Odin. And I thought, "Hmm, let's see what the ice cream is like." I went in and asked which ones were made without milk, and when the person working pointed out the chocolate sorbet, I rejoiced.
An old Italian man in the store turned to me and said "How did you know this is the best place in town?" And I smiled.
The sorbet was everything I'd hoped for and more. I only wish I'd gotten a bigger portion! read more
