It's a really friendly salon and you are immediately put at ease from when you are greeted at the door. You have a consultation each appt before your hair is washed so they can find out exactly you want. It's recently been refurbished and the new colour scheme is really relaxing and it's bliss to spend an hour or so there having your hair done.

My hair was coloured at the sink a second time using a different dye without my consent. I overheard a member of staff whisper to my hair colourist that she ought to add some brown dye in with the treatment and this advice was followed without informing me first. When I asked if another colour had been put into my hair I was told that it was just a treatment to prolong the colour. I know for a fact that this was not the case. The first colour (dark blonde) had already been rinsed away entirely and the new "treatment" was a much darker and warmer brown and had the same odour as the dye previously used. I assume my allergy test covered me for both. I was also lied to about using permanent dye on my natural hair. Another salon have confirmed that a brown permanent hair colour was added. I emphatically stated that I did not want my nine months of natural hair regrowth touched with any permanent colour and they gave me their word. I have wasted my money but I am far more upset by the deceit and devastated with the new unflattering colour. I do not have a poor understanding of how the dyes work, I study biochemistry. I am in no doubt that I was lied to.

I was impressed from my first visit with the welcome that I received. The initial consultation with Carly, the stylist I return to see, was fantastic. She listened with care to what I wanted with my colour and cut, and gave the results I was looking for. I've returned for a few years now and each time we check in with what I'm looking for now, there's always that flexibility to try something new if I'd like to. Carly understands that coming here is as much about a treat for a worn-out working mummy, and restoring some confidence and self-worth, as it as about the actual hair cut. It's both a professional and a friendly, caring environment. That, and you are always kept comfortable with a variety of drinks and up-to-the-minute magazines. I love the atmosphere, the fab head massages during shampooing, the music and the people.... oh, and my hair! Really great service from skilled people.

Terrible customer service…read more Now I had my hair cut by a stylist, and the cut was okay, no complaints really. Then I went back in for some highlights, and I did not like the final look. I wanted a stronger look, something a little more bold, but my stylist thought I wanted something more natural. So here I had paid a lot of money, for what I didn't want and I was not pleased. They were going to charge me almost half of what I had already paid extra, in order to achieve the look I wanted originally. I fought this, because it's ridiculous to pay 50% more than I had originally paid to simply get the look I wanted originally. This is where I got very angry, and when a salon, or any service, cannot manage to go above and beyond for you, then that is a terrible sign of their customer service. I eventually spoke with the manager, and she treated me terribly. She basically spoke of how I was in the wrong, and it is my fault the look wasn't communicated well, and thus I need to pay. What kind of customer service is this? Have they never learned the number one key to getting loyal and happy customers is that 'the customer is never wrong'! As a manager myself, I would rather lose £20, get a loyal customer, and then make a huge profit from that customer in the years to come. After gaining thousands of pounds from that customer, what's those £20 anymore... And then after arguing this for another 30 minutes, the last words with her topped off my terrible experience. The manager and stylist came back upstairs, at this point they had lowered the price I had to pay to achieve my look, but I still wasn't willing to pay anything. So the manager and stylist tried one more time to convince me to pay the money, again telling my how this is my fault. Then the manager looked at the stylist and said, "Should we do what we discussed downstairs then?". The stylist said, "Yes". And then the manager said, "Okay, then I'm going to waiver the cost and do this for free." I mean, that just topped off the level of unprofessionalism from this manager, she was just trying one more time to squeeze out some money from me, whilst she had already decided she was going to do it for free, and demonstrated this right in front of me. I was very disappointed with my experience here, I am returning to fix my colour, and solely because of the manager I will probably never return. Which is a shame, because at the end of the day I did like my stylist. But I was not in the wrong, and for a manager to tell me that, and treat me the way she did, not impressed.

I always arrive on time for my appointments and for some reason or another, they can't do my hair. They either cancel on me last minute, decide not to open on the day of my appointment (without letting me know), or one of the other hairdressers there say that the person I am booked in with isn't here??? I ask if they have time to do it instead, but of course they don't. It's always dirty in there, wires everywhere and that floor is always wet and slippery - nearly tripped over one of the wires. Upon walking in after Christmas, there were 2 stylist there and they both were incredibly rude to me - asking me what I want in this rude manner, then proceeding to just stare at me while I wait. All in all, very unorganised and unprofessional. Can't believe that they'd happily shut the entire salon on a working day ( I usually come in on Tuesday or Friday), just to go swimming or something?? Not ever coming back to this place. Salon owner needs to get a grip.

I had Ben as my hairdresser and I have to say, he has been the best hairdresser I've ever had. When you get the wash, you get a scalp massage with peppermint-- it was fantastic! You can tell he really cares about the customers and has been doing this for while. He gave me suggestions as to what would be best according to my hair style. Suggestion; If you go on the weekend, arrive early cause parking is on the street and didn't had many spots. Overall, I will definitely return.

He gave me some good ideas on what I can do with my hair and was honest about what he could achieve. On the down side I didn't find it very easy to make an appointment. The salon has moved premises and 118 gave me the wrong phone number so i looked in the phone book and then went to the wrong address which was frustrating. This isn;t a cheap salon and I did get carried away with the products that he recommended but all in all I thought it was well worth it and my hair looks great.
