I found RINGTONE, a boutique boxing a fitness gym, walking down Drummond St. and was willing to try something new. I went to their 19:00 mixed class and loved it! The place had a great atmosphere, buzzing with positive vibes. I met Ben and Scott (owners/trainers) and were extremely welcoming and patient with my inexperience. The two lads have a great personality. Training with gloves on is different in that your learning rather than just running on a treadmill. I enjoyed that it challenged me to engage my brain as well as my body. Had a great feeling of acomplishment after the 1 hour class and will be back tomorrow. Cheers, "Will the Thrill"

As an aspiring lightweight boxer from England, I had been training in Mendez Boxing Gym in New York…read more(moved there last year) for the last 10 months or so. My fitness has vastly improved and I have been better off because of it, however, in terms of learning the boxing fundamentals and actual technique, none of the trainers so much as gave me the time of day beyond the generic "hit the bag for 3 rounds, do padwork with x for a half an hour, now shadow box for 3 rounds" stuff you'd find in your run-of-the-mill fitness gym that facades itself as a boxing facility. Nonetheless, despite all the time and dedication I had spent in this gym, I never felt at home, and felt that my efforts and aspirations to AT THE VERY LEAST fight in an amateur setting were neglected, and it felt as if all my efforts and sacrifices were in vain no matter how hard I tried. I train 6-7 days a week and throughout the majority of those days I try and train twice (once in the morning and a second time at night) I had recently returned to England for a 2 week holiday and I had spent time with one of the trainers named Tony, who happened to be a friend of another family friend named Harry Cowap, who had a history of professional boxing in Ireland. Within a matter of a few hours I felt more at home and covered more of the rudimental boxing mechanics at Peacock than I ever did for the last 10 months at the place I was "training" at back over in New York. Nonetheless, even my family who was there to watch me train noticed that everything from my form and performance had greatly improved while training with Tony. I am currently back in New York, I'm not sure when my next trip back home to England will be, and I am currently holed up in New York finishing off uni and training at my old gym (Mendez) for the sake of keeping my fitness, however I will not forget the workout, tutoring and overall kindness that Tony and the gym provided me that day. Since then, my view on Boxing has fundamentally changed for the better and I have a new sense of instilled self-confidence in the sport! Until I return, I say Peacock keep up the damn good work and keep aiming to push and train the next generation of boxers England (or anywhere else) has to offer! Would definitely recommend Tony and Peacock Gym to any and everyone in the London area with a die-hard dream to fight professionally! Proud As A Peacock!

KO is a force in Muay Thai boxing and the Bethnal Green gym is well respected. Training is physically demanding and respect must be shown at all times, to instructors and fellow students. In return for your hard work, the gym operates like a family and you can expect vociferous support if you take the ultimate challenge and fight for the club. You will never be pushed to fight though and Thai boxing is a sensational way to keep fit and build self-confidence. KO is a full-time gym. It is open everyday and along with the full size boxing ring, you'll find kick bags and all the equipment you need to get started.

This is a great gym to study Muay Thai. The only reason I…read morestopped goin to this place was because my new job clashed with the gym time table. The instructor here is called Bill. I don't know much about his professional career, but I know he was a champion muay that fighter, and he is a good teacher. One tip from me if you start to go here regularly is invest in your own equipment! In the beginning I did not have my own gloves, so I had to use their public gloves.... they were all sweat drenched, and trust me, it takes ages before you can wash the stench of sweat off your hands! Same goes for the shin guard... they were so wet with sweat that they soaked through my nike jogging bottoms! Also, be careful if ur a newbie. It seems that Bill makes it a point to "demonstrate" on newbies, showing them how powerful Muay Thai is by using his "weak" left leg to kick you "lightly" on your arm... hurts pretty bad! lol. But dnt worry, we have all been there... its like a right of passage.

Various types of peeps, young, old, all walks of life working hard for two hours straight. Not for people that just want to come for a facebook update, be prepared to work! The coaches are amazing and will always remember who you are and what level you're at so they can help you progress. Come for a good workout or come to learn how to box proper -- not boxercise!! No membership required, pay a flat entry fee of £12, it's cheaper if you do pay for an annual membership: £10 p/session, block of 10 for £90, or monthly for £70. Then 'KO Circuit' is for general public, if you're interested in amateur boxing training, in general you'll have to come to KO Circuit first, have a chat/get invited. Both classes are super hard work. There's also proper kickboxing on Saturday arvos. All Stars is the home of champions having seen British title fighters starting here and also the first Euro woman champ. Check out their website, come along! Saturday mornings 10am-12 are my favourite, good bunch of peeps. All Stars is also a charity org, giving back to the youth in the community. Honestly, if…read moreyou're looking for a good, severe boxing workout this is THE place. 2hrs sessions are intense, trainers experienced and invested. They won't let you rest and they'll push you to your limits. And you'll like it;) What's pleasant is that they remember you, your name and progress you make. It makes you feel part of the family. £12 for a session or £70 a month is not a cheap business, I agree, but you get what you pay for. Quality. The KO Circuit class works by 3-to-1 basis, 3min of intense training 1min of rest. People of all levels are coming to these classes so you can train with and learn from them. Beginners are taken on the ring and taught individually how to punch and walk so no worries, if you're a newbie, the coach will take care of you. But be prepared to suffer afterwards and realise the existence of the muscles you never knew you had! I couldn't walk properly for two days after my first session;) There are female only classes on Sunday if you're a female (duh;)) and don't want to sweat much. Otherwise I'd say go for the normal circuit. If you don't have your own gloves they can lend you a pair for the time of a session, but if you think you'll be boxing more than once, I'd say buy your own ones and you won't have to bear the smelly, sweaty, someone else's used gloves on your hands. Lockers with keys and showers are also there. The atmosphere in All Stars is quality, people are committed, walls full of pictures of boxers and fights and in the middle of the room stands a boxing ring on which you train sometimes and where sometime there are fights. Real ones. What else can I say, I totally got hooked and I'm looking forward to my next All Stars KO Circuit!
