I have been a frequent customer of The Gator's Tail since we moved to Cambridge in 2020, and always enjoy my experiences. The only time I was there for lunch in March 2025. There were 12 of us and we received prompt service, with no complaints. I had a burger with onion rings, 2 beers, that was very good. Cost me $25, which is very reasonable. Best thing is that they promote local beers from microbreweries. Nice way to recycle Cambridge dollars. Just the odd usual times that it doesn't come the way I want, but I have always had the pulled pork, or wings and that's been my go to and my fiance loves the burgers. Gator's Tail is one of my favourite places in Cambridge. I probably go once a month for Friday night karaoke, or #gatoroke as my wife likes to say. As well I'd end up going during the summer after slo-pitch games at the nearby Cambridge Sports Park. They offer team deals and have a cashback offer at the end of the season which is pretty awesome. The food I've always found to be pretty good. Gator's Tail was previously a Shoeless Joe's franchise, then another restaurant called Montage before it's current iteration and there are certain items that survived on the menu from the swap over. The lattice fries are one that I can recall surviving. I will typically order their wings with lattice fries and the garlic dill dip. They also have a spicy Gator dip that is quite good. The fish tacos are also delicious. They have a pretty big menu with lots of options, as well as an after 8 menu with some special and deals. One curiosity they have on their menu is Gator Bites, which are made from actual gator which is pretty unique. Their beer selection is solid. Often they will have what's become the standard premium beer menu I've seen at other places, with Rolling Rock, Stella Artois, Steamwhistle and Mill Street Organic. They also tend to have a microbrew on tap to try out. As I mentioned I frequent the karaoke on Friday nights, but that's just one of the things they have going on there. They'll often have special event nights, one I can recall is a surf and turf in the summer, as well as Yuk Yuk's comedy once a month on Saturdays. They often sell out in advance, so they're something you need to plan going to. They also host regular UFC nights. Gator's is one of the few places in Cambridge that have stuff going on on a regular basis, so I definitely rank it highly as far as places to go in town. read more

It didn't start well, only one waitress the place was dead except for one table. There was a booth that hasn't been clean up since I don't know how long. The service was all over the place my girlfriend and I ordered a draft beer , I get mine and 10 minutes later we had to ask if she forgot about hers.....After few swear words coming from the kitchen our food arrived I ordered the Port and goat cheese burger, my g/f the chicken strips with latice fries, my son had the mac and cheese from the kids menu. The lattice fries were absolutely delicious( you have to try them ) and the chicken strips made with real chicken breasts , my port burger was to die for ,my son loved the mac and cheese. Big portions and everything was super good , looks like a sports bar atmosphere with big screen TV's to watch the game , I will be back with the boys for game night for sure . read more

Amazing! First time ordering takeout. We bought 4 haddock and chips. We are British and I can honestly say that it was the best haddock we have tried since coming to canada. Not greasy. Portions are big. The kids ate everything. Love how they package takeout. We shall be regulars if this is the normal quality. Fries are fries but these were great!! Worth every bite. read more

Average pub food... I got Philly Po'Boy sandwich, which was okay. The best part was the generous portion of melted provolone cheese! I asked for New England Clam Chowder to have it as an appetizer, but the waitress came back and told me that they didn't have it that night. They seem to host karaoke nights and yuk yuk shows... I decided to venture into this place on a Tuesday evening and it was a huge mistake. We were seated ordered drinks they were brought to us and then we were ignored for ever 10 mins while our server attended to operational tasks instead of taking our order. The restaurant was not busy there were only 3 occupied tables at the time. I would like to explain to the management or ownership of this establishment that if you don't put customers first you won't have any other tasks because you won't be in business for very long. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because a 0 star rating was not available. read more
