Good selection of used guitars. Unfortunately the owner leaves cables laying around then complains when people use them to try a guitar. Maybe don't leave shit lying around if you don't want it used. The owner also lies about the condition of equipment when he doesn't want someone to test it out. Then he whines at their truthful Yelp review and makes snarky responses when 18 & 20 year olds with their own money don't buy something because they didn't get to test it for more than 5 minutes. If I ever see him at a Bloodied Disciple show, I'll have him ejected. read more

I was in the market for a ukulele so that I could participate in a group at my RV Park. One of the other residents at the park highly recommended them. While they had a lot of good reviews on Yelp there was a lack of photos. Dave was as helpful and courteous as described by other reviewers, very much living up to his reputation. After my purchase, I took the liberty of photographing the incredible stock of instruments and supplies packed into the store to give you an idea of what's inside. I was visiting my grandparents in Florida, and I was looking for music stores and the first store I found was this one. I was checking out a guitar but also a nice amp. I am a metal guitarist and I had swapped to a 7-string guitar to play some whitechapel and see if this amp sounded good. I had the volume at 1 on a low power amp, I was very quiet, and as I shut the amp off and unplugged, the clerk came over and was about to tell me to stop because he had "Heard enough". He then took the amp cord. I was thinking about buying that amp, but I doubt I'll be coming back. read more

Gave Dave the owner my guitar to restring and to lower action. He kept it nearly a week always promising to have it done the next day. A few days later we agreed on completion date. I came in on that date and he said he is still on other projects and would work on it later. So I asked for my guitar back and dude turned into hulk. He just switched and said take your Fing guitar and get the F out! I should have listened to my initial intuition and not go to Gator Music. My friendly advice to you is consider a different shop for your guitar needs. read more

Moved downtown off 41 between NCHospital and Tropical Cafe in one of the older strip malls where parking is diagonal. Love talking to David the owner, good guy, no pressure selling, musician with brains. Yea, some of us lost some on the way in the 60s. His prices are same as online so support the local stores like this if you can. A true musician needs to touch, play, feel the instrument before purchase. BUYER BEWARE !!! Double Check what you purchase here and don't take there word for it. I purchased a 1961 Stratocaster in September 2018. I specifically asked if pickups were original...Owners Stated and I Quoate... " neck pickup is a 1961 and the other 2 are from the 70s". I asked if there was a hum bucker route under the pick guard...he said he wasn't sure... So I bought it ...took it home and found One 1974 Fender Strat Pickup and 2 Non Fender No Name Brand Pickup. Also ...There was a Humbucker route in the neck position. I call owner within 1 hour of purchase...Said he could do nothing about it. I purchased 2 pickups to replace the non original and it cost me over $1000. When I went back to the store ...The owner offered no assistance and stated he never said that he stated to just sell the guitar to resolve it myself. I don't usually leave yelp reviews, but this particular business dealing was atrocious. I purchased an"excellent" condition HiWatt Custom DR103 from 1971 with the matching cabinet from the owner who had it listed on consignment. Of course with old amps, I always expect a little work to be done, i.e. replacing a couple caps, resistors, and rebiasing. I take all of my amps to a very reputable tech up here in Columbus, OH who has done repair work on a pro level for decades. My tech's words, "This thing needs a ton of work, it's in really bad shape." Bad solder joints everywhere, 3 speakers needing complete recones, and a ton needing to be replaced on the inside, not including transformers. I let the owner know about this, asking for literally any type of assistance on the repair, and he told me there was a 3 day return window because it's a vintage item. He wasn't willing to help pay a single penny and claimed that because we negotiated down $450 from list that he views the sale as complete. "I played it through at the shop many times and know it worked and sounded fine." BS dude. I'm now pouring close to $1K into an amp that was listed on Reverb.com as "excellent condition". Buyer beware, do not trust this guy on vintage amps, and do not expect him to honor your sale with any type of personal or professional integrity. Used Car Salesman. read more

Great place to drive to across town through miserable traffic only to be "greeted" by an owner talking to a supplier for 20 minutes while you stand there inches in front of him with your items on the counter while he ignores you. Great place if you want to stand around and be ignored for 45 minutes. I called ahead and was was told that they rented guitars, no problem. I was in Naples on vacation and needed a guitar for a week. When I got there, the clerk told me he had to call the owner to see what guitar they could rent me. 45 minutes and two calls to the owner later, I still had no guitar. They couldn't find it in the store, which, by the way, is about the size of a large bathroom. It's so cluttered, that it's got to be a fire code violation. During my wait, the clerk also rung up another customer who came in after me! When he he was finally done, he went looking for the guitar, which he never found. Lastly, when they ring up a customer, the clerk actually has to write down the item number on a peice of paper. I waited 15 minutes while the clerk searched for the item number of each of four music books, write down the number, then schlep over to a credit card machine and run the credit card. Apparently, they don't know that we've had computers that do this type of thing since the 1980's. read more

The quality of gear here surely compensates for its size. I'd say its the best guitar shop in Naples. If youre looking for newer equipment, this is the place to go to. They have a really nice selection of Ampeg, Gretsch and G&L guitars. And some nice amps to boot. Hiwatt, Vox and Orange. I frequent this shop atleast twice a month. The owner is just the nicest guy and gave us perfect advice. He made sure we got the best deal for the money. After 5 moths I called the store and they told me they sold my guitar to make up their expense!!!
