It's a standard antique mall with rows and rows of vendor booths. Country Fair Mall owns two buildings on the property which are strangely seperated by a second shop (The Cottage Antiques & Co). While The Cottage Antiques & Co is more upscale the two Country Fair Mall buildings are more my style. Most of the booths at Country Fair Mall are pretty plain and some require a little digging and rummaging. That depends on the vendor of course... Same with prices. Some are a little high, some are at market, and there are some great deals to be found too! Depending on the vendor... As far as I can tell there was only one staff member working in each building so if you needed a case opened you might have to wait if there was a line at the register... Both gentlemen were polite and easy to work with. Both my girlfriend and I walked out with purchases. My day was made when I found a Gold Medal dynamite box for under market price. These regularly go for $125+ online and I paid $35 (I think). A heckuva deal... I didn't even have to think twice about it! I collect stuff like that... Things might be a little dusty and more rustic than other shops... We had a great time walking through both buildings and shopping! We were there on the July 4th weekend and they were open on the holiday itself... More than anything else I guess... We were just really grateful they were open and we had something fun to do!

It was getting really boring looking at glasses in vases in every booth.... Customer service 0 Selection in the booths greatly needs improvement from the dealers.

There are varying price ranges, Amish items, signs, comic books, Hot Wheels, cast iron, food, coffee, etc. We spent a good hour here to stretch our legs while traveling. So much variety exists here, and walking to all the different floors to check things out is a fun adventure. There are a lot of things to peruse, and plenty of the items trigger various childhood memories. It's like taking a trip down memory lane in some of the rooms. I can't imagine anyone regretting stopping in at this place - it's hard not to walk out with something every time we go. Even if it's not something for us, we find plenty of gifts for other people.

I found an elephant figurine (that I bought), and an elephant light (which I did not buy... yet!). They also have some gorgeous jewelry by the front desk, that I may have to splurge on soon! This is definitely the antique/vintage experience you expect and want when you step into a shop in town. Not just the same old things, but many items that my mom and I had never seen in our many browsing trips to various stores/flea markets. They are in the middle of updating the space, but leaving ALL the charm of the building - there was even features of it opened up that were hidden away when we shopped the business in place before it. We definitely plan on returning... again and again!

The shop itself (divided between two buildings) is much smaller in person than it appears on TV. There's a lot more Antique Archaeology swag for sale than actual antiques... The staff we encountered were just regular run of the mill retail workers...none the TV personalities. Not that I really expected to run into Mike. Lol For me the best part of the visit was a photo op with the old car out front branded with the business logo (a dilapidated 1950-1951 Nash Statesman Super). And with the motorcycles and other larger antiques on display... LeClaire, situated along the Mississippi River, is a nice little area in and of itself... There are MANY other shops, antique stores, restaurants, and attractions in LeClaire to check while you're there! Along with LeClaire... Please know I'm sure not trying to discourage you from stopping and checking out the Antique Archaeology shop...! Far from it! It's pretty cool for what it is. I'm assuming many of her 'friends' left her 5 star reviews. Pretty much this is a collective of stuff easily acquired through flea markets, yard sales, eBay and in your own back yard-without the hefty price tag. Upon entering, I was immediately "assessed" with a condescending look. Strike one. The items are farm cast-offs, undeserving of the title 'antiques'. If I were in the market for furniture in need of repair and repainting, I have a house full. No thanks. if I want old bottles and pitchers, rickety stools and rusty tools, I'll shop in my shed. This can't even be called a GLORIFIED antiques store. It's a flea market and it's owner has to come off her "Holier than Thou" High Horse. Too many great shops around to waste your time here.
