I'm not a big fan of shopping really but I do like checking out furniture and unusual items. I could spend hours here and the best part is that everything is displayed so nicely, no digging through mysterious piles to locate something worthwhile. You actually feel as though you can see everything and think about how you might like to use it in your own space. The amount of art and re-purposed items is amazing. And I've never seen so many cool vintage items (the kind of treasures that your friends tell you about after they've spent hours combing through the back of some dusty old thrift store that you would not even walk by, let alone enter). This place is a treasure itself - a refurbished funeral home with just the right amount of abstract art and unique pieces that peak your curiosity and make you want to return to see if that vanity you had your eye on last time you were in sold...or find an unusual gift for that cousin that likes odd designed, yet functional kitchen items. Quad City residents...stop by once and you'll be hooked. If you're from the surrounding area (or nearby states)...make a monthly pilgrimage to see what's new...well worth the trip! I only wish I lived closer.

The shop itself (divided between two buildings) is much smaller in person than it appears on TV. There's a lot more Antique Archaeology swag for sale than actual antiques... The staff we encountered were just regular run of the mill retail workers...none the TV personalities. Not that I really expected to run into Mike. Lol For me the best part of the visit was a photo op with the old car out front branded with the business logo (a dilapidated 1950-1951 Nash Statesman Super). And with the motorcycles and other larger antiques on display... LeClaire, situated along the Mississippi River, is a nice little area in and of itself...
