    Review Highlights - Goodwill Store

In my opinion, this is the best thrift store in the Quad Cities--and judging by the constant flow of cars with Illinois plates, I think others would agree.

This is not a thrift or vintage shop where you rummage around to find overlooked scores. Nothing is overlooked. The owner isn't unsure of what she has. "The score" is what Laura will help unearth for you that you didn't know was there. Don't want that experience? Go to Goodwill Trash Can Annie's supplies much of its inventory to films, celebrities, musicians, performers. Laura Heath is a professional costumer and stylist. She doesn't just own some shop with "second-hand clothes". We are very, very lucky to have access to her inventory, have her style us, and buy the outfit. This doesn't really exist anywhere else around here, or even in Los Angeles, folks. I have been shopping at Trash Can Annie's since 1984 or 85, long before Laura Heath rescued it (thank god for her) from the original Annie. The inventory she holds is staggering. If you are upset there's a stain or tear on that $380 dress, it's because you don't understand it's a hand-beaded flapper number of chiffon silk from 1921 and if you're making a sour face about a small stain, then yeah you should probably get out of the store. These clothes are outsourced to the entertainment industry. She's a costumer and industry stylist. You are lucky to have the opportunity to buy this stuff and be the star of your own movie. Don't claim you want to support local but are mad you could get something similar for less on AliExpress. JFC hear yourself will you I haven't yet been to the new location but I can't wait. Will be great to see Laura again! LONG LIVE TRASH CAN ANNIE'S

The sort of thing one might see at any mall store or on AliExpress. Each was priced at $80 or $100 (i cant recall which). Everything else had the same overprice issue. The owner gave me a quick (30s) intro to the store and then gave sole attention to the only other customer, who seemed to be only browsing was likely browsing. With the highly inflated prices and the owner's unwelcoming behavior, why should i "shop local" in this case? Wont go in there again.

Every store I shop at doesn't align with my personal beliefs or politics, but I choose to shop smart and live withing my means instead of letting my personal opinions impact my budget... You do you. We were greeted as we walked in the door and asked if it was our first time there. When we answered that it was the staff member gave us a quick run down of the areas, how to navigate the store, etc. This is a resale thrift shop. There are some vintage and antique items, but you're going to find much more used modern items, jewelry and accessories, and clothes than anything else. The selection is wide and the shelves are a little cluttered. And by cluttered I mean jam packed... Lol There is A LOT of stuff here! Reasonable prices and this shop would be a great resource for students, someone just starting out, or having to start over. Make sure you check of the Clearance room!

Otherwise, there were chaotic signs about clothing discounts, etc. I wasn't shopping for clothing, but the place is packed with it. I wish more of these shops would invest in some sort of air purification system like they do/did in bingo parlors where there are/were smokers. Perhaps that could make a dent in the problem. I know it keeps some potential customers away. Or at least they could offer a breathing mask for customers upon request. Good selection for basics, although you're not likely to find an overlooked gem or Antiques Roadshow candidate here. The people who helped me unload my donations were quite nice and helpful.

It's clearly obvious someone at the corporate office made the decision they were going to squash out the resellers. It's a terrible business decision IMO. There's countless items I would have bought at this exact location that are now taxed to a price where I can't justify the purchase. I've spent thousands of dollars a year at this location! I RARELY SHOP HERE ANYMORE!
